Villain Ch 843. The Traitor Who Got Betrayed [Part 2]

Even though she wasn't online, she could rely on them to keep her updated on everything happening in the ga: Allen, Elio, the guild, the community, and her reputation.

Sophia had to admit, of all the surprises, the one she hadn't anticipated was Jacob. That cringey guy, who usually lurked on the periphery, had unexpectedly taken her side in the dispute with Elio. It was an odd developnt, one she hadn't quite figured out yet. She hadn't responded to him, unsure of his motives, but she knew she wouldn't hesitate to use him when the ti ca.

It was just a matter of figuring out when and how he could be most useful.

Sophia put the pen down and completely threw herself back into her chair, feeling the weight of her thoughts pressing down on her. She knew she should be able to go ho, but the idea of returning to her empty apartnt felt uninviting.

Part of her had hoped that by staying late at the agency, she might run into Vivian. Vivian was a wildcard, soone who moved in and out of the office on her own schedule. It was always a gamble whether she'd be there or not. But tonight, it seed that luck was not on Sophia's side. Vivian hadn't shown up, and the hope that she might suddenly appear was fading.

Sophia hoped to tap into so information from her since the other staff mbers who were close to Vivian had proven to be less informative than she had hoped. They didn't have any substantial information about Allen or Vivian.

The only piece of information she had managed to uncover was that Vivian had introduced Allen to the agency. It had been a stroke of luck—or misfortune, depending on how one looked at it. The model who was supposed to be there had been unable to attend, and Allen had stepped in as a last-minute replacent. His entry into the agency had been purely by chance.

He had no real connections within the agency except through Vivian, which made his position precarious.

Sophia pondered this revelation. Allen's lack of deep connections within the agency ant that he was vulnerable. If she needed to, it would be easy to undermine his reputation. He had no substantial backup, no network of support to fall back on. This thought gave her a perverse sense of satisfaction.

She didn't want to resort to such asures, but it was comforting to know that the option was there if needed.

Sophia's mind sank into a web of plotting. She didn't want to get her hands dirty, especially not directly. She needed to make it seem as though Vivian had been the one to tarnish Allen's reputation. Unfortunately, outside of his modeling career, she knew very little about Allen's other work.

Allen had only recently begun his foray into modeling, and based on the insights from Liam and Darren, he had been largely absent from the gaming community for a considerable ti. They hadn't seen him in any tournants for over two years, and the fact that he could hang out during office hours suggested he didn't hold a typical nine-to-five job.

Perhaps he worked from ho, but what kind of work could it be? The staff at the agency never ntioned anything about his other pursuits.

Sophia stared at the screen, the unfinished sketch of Allen still there, mocking her with its incompleteness. Her thoughts swirled. He was always careful, guarded, but she knew it was just a façade. Beneath that careful exterior, he was still the sa person. She was sure that once she managed to get close enough, once she found a way to get to his heart, he would submit to her.

It was just a matter of ti and strategy.

But ti was not on her side. The more she dwelled on it, the more she realized how little she truly knew about him. His motivations, his background, his life outside the small glimpses she had seen—it was all a mystery. She hated not knowing. Ignorance was a weakness, and she despised feeling weak.

The sound of the door opening was enough to break Sophia's reverie. She snapped out of her tangled thoughts just as Mr. Bell walked in, his presence filling the room with a sudden energy.

"Why are you still here, Sophia?" Mr. Bell asked, his brow furrowing with concern."Oh, right," he continued, not waiting for her to answer, "thank you for the coffee. I didn't expect you to bring it right when I needed it, before the eting."

Sophia quickly began to tidy up her desk, closing her laptop and gathering her sketching tools. She forced a bright smile, trying to shake off the lingering gloom. "Don't ntion it, Mr. Bell. I'm glad you liked it. I am just about to head ho." She hesitated, glancing at the clock again.

"It's just that I don't have a vehicle, so I'm a bit reluctant."

Mr. Bell's frown deepened. "Don't you have a boyfriend? The one who always picks you up on his red motorbike?"

Sophia felt a twinge of awkwardness but kept her smile steady. She knew Mr. Bell was referring to Elio. "He's not my boyfriend. Just a friend," she corrected gently. "He's busy today, so he couldn't pick up."

She looked up at Mr. Bell, allowing a subtle, pleading gaze to soften her eyes. She hoped it would be enough to elicit his help without seeming too desperate.

Mr. Bell t her eyes and, after a mont, his expression softened. "Co with . I'll take you ho."

Sophia's smile widened, genuine relief flooding through her. "Thank you, Mr. Bell. I really appreciate it."

Yes, Sophia decided to try to approach Mr. Bell. Mr. Bell held significant power in the agency, and his favor could be invaluable. If she played her cards right, he might be able to help her uncover more about Allen. She needed to approach this delicately, though, to ensure she didn't arouse any suspicion.
