Villain Ch 799. Productivity Killer

Allen typed again.

Allen: Yeah, most players do that. They’ve got their whole skill sequence mapped out in their heads, like so kind of combo to wreck their enemies in record ti.

Zoe: Can’t argue with that. Back in the day, that might’ve been a solid strategy for a regular screen-and-controller setup. But VR? You gotta be quick on your feet, think on the fly.

Bella: Breaking those old habits ain’t gonna be a walk in the park, that’s for sure.

Alice: True, having a go-to combo is like Gaming 101. At least they’ve got a plan when things hit the fan.

Larissa: Plus, if they have a signature combo or move, at least his team will have morized what he usually does. They can plan their attack move more easily and follow the usual attack patterns.

Shea: True *Flat face emoji*

Allen: Okay, let’s cut out the discussion here. This will never end. Are we going to hunt or not?

Vivian: Whoa, you’re unusually hyped today. What’s the deal? Missing us? Or is Azura getting under your skin?

Allen: I found an interesting mini boss and I’m sure he will be useful for us in the next war. I already defeated him earlier, but since I was with Azura and the others I couldn’t bind him with my contract.

Allen: Also, I found a new dungeon. I wonder where it leads.

Shea: Okay, that’s interesting. Let’s go!

Allen: I’ll wait for you at the base.

Allen set down his phone on his desk with a sigh, its screen dimming as he shifted his attention to his VR device. Grabbing it, he slid it over his head, feeling the familiar weight settle comfortably against his temples. The device humd to life as it scanned his retinas, a soft beep indicating successful authentication.

In an instant, the world around him shifted, and he found himself standing once more in the eerie depths of the Cursed Crypts. The air felt damp and musty, the flickering torchlight casting eerie shadows on the stone walls.

Whenever he logged into the ga, his avatar automatically returned to the Cursed Crypts, his true form revealed. It was a safety asure, ensuring that he always started from a familiar point whenever he entered the virtual world.

Standing at the gate, Allen glanced around, the familiar surroundings of the Crypts greeting him. He could hear the distant echoes of creatures lurking in the shadows.

But he wasn’t alone for long. Within monts, another figure appeared beside him.

"I’m surprised you’re not at all interested in what the players are talking about on the forum," Bella remarked, her avatar materializing beside him.

"Yeah, I thought for sure you’d be itching to check out the latest thread," Alice chid in, her voice tinged with curiosity.

Allen scratched his head, contemplating their words. "Honestly, I kinda do want to check it out," he admitted with a sigh. "But I’ve already spent way too much ti scrolling through gaming forums today. It gets old after a while, you know? Plus, constantly checking social dia can be a real productivity killer," he explained, his tone resigned. Discover exclusive tales on .Côm

Shea raised an eyebrow in mock surprise. "Wait a second, did Allen just talk about productivity? This is a first," she teased, a playful smirk playing on her lips.

Allen rolled his eyes, but couldn’t help but crack a smile at Shea’s comnt. "Hey, I have my monts," he retorted, a hint of amusent in his voice.

"Or maybe soone is trying to be a good young master," Jane teased.

Jane’s playful jab elicited a smirk from Allen, though he couldn’t help but feel a blush creeping up his cheeks. Allen found himself shifting uncomfortably, his gaze darting away montarily. "Uh, yeah, sothing like that," he mumbled, his embarrassnt evident in his tone. "Just trying to, you know, improve my productivity and stuff," he added, his words trailing off awkwardly.

In truth, Allen couldn’t deny that Jane’s observation hit close to ho. Allen blushed at Jane’s teasing, the rest of the group exchanged amused glances, their smiles widening as they observed his flustered reaction.

"Aw, look at him getting all shy," Shea teased, her voice laced with amusent.

"He’s like a little puppy," Bella chid in, her eyes twinkling with affection.

Allen attempted to regain his composure, clearing his throat awkwardly as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other. "Alright, alright, enough with the teasing. We’ve got a hunt to prepare for," he protested half-heartedly, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips despite his embarrassnt.

The others exchanged a quick glance before nodding in unison. "Okay, just need to grab a few potions and we’ll be good to go," Shea replied.

"Sounds good to ," Bella chid in.

"Okay, I’ll wait here then," Allen said with a nod.

He watched the others go. Allen’s thoughts turned to the quest to Grimar. Without a second thought, he quickly went to Grimar’s room.

Pushing open the creaking stone door, Allen stepped into the dimly lit interior of Grimar’s workshop. The air was heavy with the scent of burning incense and the sound of clinking tal echoed off the walls.

"Grimar?" Allen called out, scanning the cluttered space for any sign of the blacksmith.

Monts later, Grimar erged from the shadows, his burly fra silhouetted against the flickering light of the forge. "Ah, the emperor! What brings you to my humble abode today?" Grimar bood, a twinkle in his eye as he greeted Allen warmly.

"I’ve co to deposit the quest results," Allen replied, his voice tinged with excitent. "I’m ready to complete my order for the Shadowbane armor."

Grimar nodded approvingly, his weathered face breaking into a toothy grin. "Excellent choice. Shadowbane armor is a fine craft indeed," he declared, rubbing his hands together eagerly.

With practiced efficiency, Allen handed over the quest items, watching as Grimar inspected them with a critical eye. "These will do nicely," Grimar pronounced, his voice gruff but pleased. "I’ll get started on your order right away. Please co back tomorrow."

Allen nodded and left.

After they finished, the group gathered in the portal room. Allen couldn’t shake the feeling of anticipation coursing through his veins. They were ready to delve back into the treacherous depths of the Haunted Forest.

With a determined expression, Allen led the way as they stepped through the shimring portal, erging once again in the eerie surroundings of the Haunted Forest. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decay, and a sense of foreboding hung heavy in the air.

"Alright, let’s stick together and stay alert," Allen called out, his voice firm but reassuring.

They made their way deeper into the forest, Allen couldn’t help but feel a twinge of frustration. He had hoped to bypass the winding paths and tangled undergrowth of the forest and head straight for the Cetery where their target awaited. However, it seed that this particular map didn’t offer such shortcuts.

Allen pressed on, leading his companions through the dense foliage of the forest. Allen ventured into the Haunted Forest once again, there was a noticeable difference in their deanor compared to their previous expeditions. With Allen in his true form, his strength and abilities were vastly enhanced, making him a formidable leader for the group.

His companions, too, had grown accustod to hunting alongside him, their teamwork and coordination honed through countless battles.

Navigating the forest proved to be a much smoother experience this ti around, thanks to Allen’s previous experience and the group’s skills. The tangled undergrowth and lurking dangers seed almost trivial in comparison to their combined strength.

The horde of werewolves and puppets that had once posed a significant threat now seed like little more than minor obstacles to be swiftly dealt with. With Allen at the helm, the group moved with purpose and efficiency, dispatching their adversaries with ease as they made their way through the forest.

Finally, they arrived at the entrance to the cetery, their journey through the haunted forest nearing its end. Quickly, they approached the old NPC standing in the middle of the graveyard, Gheppetto.

"Gheppetto," Allen greeted. Allen and his companions stood before Gheppetto in the eerie graveyard, the atmosphere crackled with tension. Gheppetto’s weathered face was twisted in a mixture of shock and fury as he beheld the group before him.

"What are you doing here?" Gheppetto demanded, his voice carrying a note of warning.

Allen, in his true form as the devil emperor, stepped forward confidently, his eyes gleaming with determination. "I am the one who killed all your puppets," he declared boldly, his voice ringing out in the silence of the cetery.

Gheppetto’s reaction was imdiate and intense. With a wild cry, he lunged forward, his puppet-like strings lashing out in a frenzy of rage. But Allen was prepared. With a swift motion, he summoned forth his Shadow Barrier, a dark and transparent shield that enveloped Gheppetto and deflected his attacks.

[A barrier has been ford!]
