Capítulo 1994: Elio’s Determination [Part 3]
Villain Ch 1994. Elio’s Determination [Part 3]
His feet tore across the tiled arena, sparks flying with each step as the system pulsed around him like a drumbeat. Ash floated like snowfall. His armor glead like molten brass, scraped and battered, but still standing.
The five players moved instantly. The sixth, the new recruit, hesitated half a second behind. It was enough to tell Elio who the weak link was.
But it didn’t matter.
His body moved before thought. Divine Dash blinked him past Red_King’s guard. Smite Light flared in a golden arc, straight for Alex.
Blocked.
Red’s shield slamd between them with perfect timing. A barrier of silver light shimred around the priest.
Tch. That was why they were pros.
Elio gritted his teeth and pivoted, bringing his sword in a low arc toward Mastercraft’s knees. The blacksmith grunted, parried with a hamr too thick for defense, but strong enough to deflect. The force rattled through Elio’s arms.
“Focus fire,” Red commanded. Calm. Cool. Unshaken.
A DPS rogue flanked Elio’s left. Too fast. Blade to the ribs.
[Armor Integrity -12%]
He twisted, barely raising a shield block, but purple sigils floated midair. Witchbolt.
Lightning slamd his back.
“Rrrgh—!”
He dropped to one knee. His body trembled. His breath ca hot and sharp through clenched teeth.
[HP: 9%]
But the golden aura hadn’t flickered.
Not yet.
He rose again.
[Divine Reckoning]
A pulse of pure light exploded outward, knocking the DPS trio back just enough for him to move. His sword spun in one hand, aura blazing with reckless heat. The arena rumbled beneath him. Flas circled his boots.
Red blocked again. Always him. Always in the way.
“You’re not winning this, Elio,” Red said, voice low, almost apologetic.
“I know,” Elio growled, swinging again.
Their blades clashed with a crash of sparks, and then the rogue returned, dagger to the side of his neck.
[Critical Hit! HP: 7%]
He bared his teeth. His vision blurred. His sword felt heavy. The mana burn stung worse than it should.
A normal player would’ve dropped their weapon by now.
But Elio? He leaned into it.
His last swing had weight. Not in strength, but aning.
Red caught it.
Blocked it.
Stopped it with the sa poise he always had.
Then tapped the edge of Elio’s shoulder with the flat of his blade.
[HP: 1%]
No death screen. No fade to black.
Just one percent.
He stood there, shaking, panting, trying not to vomit from the adrenaline.
The arena lights dimd. Training match complete.
Red_King sheathed his blade. “You lost.”
Elio didn’t move. “Why didn’t you finish it?”
“It’s just a training,” Red said. “Just a training, Elio.”
That silence hit harder than the blade.
Alex walked up, glowing hands raised. Healing Light cast slowly around Elio, wrapping him in golden light.
“You okay?” Alex asked gently.
Elio didn’t answer. His eyes were still locked on Red. His jaw clenched.
Mastercraft stepped in next, arms crossed over his forge-stamped armor. “You’ve been logging in every day. Running these matches. Is this about Sophia?”
Red turned his head. “I ran into Gil earlier. He said you visited her.”
Elio finally looked up. “No. It’s not her.”
They waited.
“I just want to win the tournant,” he said. “That’s all.”
Mastercraft scratched the back of his neck. “But… why like this? You’re already one of the top players in the gaming community. You’ve carried your guild in raids. You placed top five in the last war event.”
Alex added, “And the tournant’s still a team match. You know that, right? Even if the new VR tech makes everything more ‘imrsive,’ it’s not a one-man show.”
Elio’s face didn’t twitch. “Allen promised sothing.”
That shut them up.
The three pro players stood there, glancing between each other.
“…Allen?” Red asked, slowly.
Elio nodded.
“What did he promise?” Mastercraft asked.
Elio stared at the arena floor. His reflection shimred faintly in the obsidian. For a mont, he didn’t speak.
Then…
“He said if I win this tournant, he’ll give sothing.”
Alex raised both eyebrows. “What is sothing?”
Red frowned. “Money?”
Mastercraft chuckled. “A custom legendary tier set? Soul-bound armor? A special class unlock?”
Alex chid in, “Or… you want his signature?”
Red and Mastercraft turned to him slowly.
“You’re so weird sotis,” Mastercraft muttered.
Alex shrugged. “I’m just saying. It’s Allen.”
Red looked back to Elio. “So? What are you asking for?”
Elio didn’t answer.
The silence stretched.
Then finally, he said, quiet but clear, “A battle and a truth.”
None of them knew what that ant.
But the look in Elio’s eyes?
Yeah.
It wasn’t about loot.
It wasn’t about revenge.
It was about sothing deeper.
And maybe, just maybe, they started to understand why he was fighting like a man with nothing left to lose, and sothing impossible to prove.
Red narrowed his eyes. “What kind of truth?”
Elio didn’t blink. “I can’t say it now… I want a clean truth. From him. Not from . Not twisted. I want to hear it from his mouth.”
Red let out an awkward laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. “Man, you’re saying it like it’s so world-ending prophecy.”
Elio’s grip tightened on his sword hilt, jaw tensed. “It is a big deal. At least… for the gaming community. For a lot of people.”
He looked away.
“…For .”
The tension in his fingers was visible, white-knuckled around the golden guard of his blade. Not out of anger. But out of restraint. There was sothing coiled inside him, sothing sharp and quiet and personal. Not even his guildmates, not even his rivals could na it.
Before Red could respond, the system flared.
[TI LIMIT REACHED.]
[MATCH RESULT: DRAW.]
[ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL NOW BE TRANSPORTED TO THE PVP ARENA LOBBY.]
A white beam of light surrounded each of them, humming with clean digital tones.
The arena began to dissolve into particles, sky cracking like pixels, obsidian ground fracturing into dust, light swallowing form.
Elio didn’t look at anyone.
Not Red.
Not Alex.
Not even Mastercraft.
Just forward.
Toward whatever truth waited.
