Villain Ch 1845. I Like My God With a Kill Count

"He knows it’s you, right?"

Jane’s voice echoed off the ancient stone, low and steady, like everything else inside the Cursed Crypts.

The air slled of dry bones, rotten velvet, and the faintest trace of lavender incense—Jane’s doing, probably.

Allen didn’t look up. He sat on the armrest of the throne deep in the crypt, fingers loosely tapping the poml of his sword.

"Yes," Allen murmured after a pause. "He wanted to answer him... so I told him to enter the tournant."

Vivian let out a slow, breathy hum. She was reclined in a half-shattered coffin like it was a divan, one leg draped over the edge, her succubus wings fanned lazily behind her. "You think they’ll be mad when they find out it’s you?" she asked, smirking. "The Devil Emperor. Not a boss... but just a player."

Zoe, perched on a cracked altar nearby, didn’t even blink. Her long hair shimred like wet ink, tentacles coiled lazily around the base of the dais. "I don’t think so," she said. "Have you seen the forums lately? There’s entire threads blowing up about you. The ’Devil Emperor OP’ ones."

Allen didn’t answer. He just tapped the sword again. Once. Twice.

Zoe continued, more curious than amused. "They say the AI is too perfect. Too clean. That your patterns are unbeatable. You never glitch. You never hesitate. They’re convinced no real player could match it. So..." She tilted her head. "If they found out you were a real player? That would give them hope. That you can bleed."

Bella laughed from behind one of the cracked tombs. She stepped out, licking sugar off her fingers—who knew where she got the candied citrus from. "Oh... this’ll be fun," she purred, tails flicking behind her like a playful whip. "Can you believe it? They prefer a villain player now? Over so AI endga boss?"

Vivian stretched in her coffin, voice lazy. "They’re frustrated. They keep losing, and it’s driving them crazy. So now they want the Devil Emperor to be beatable. That he’s not code. That there’s a human behind the bloodbath."

Bella smirked. "They’re looking for a loophole, that’s all. ’Cause if you’re human, then one day, one of them might win. Might kill you." She paused. "They don’t hate you, Allen. They’re obsessed with you."

Larissa had been silent this whole ti, seated atop a bone throne like royalty. She crossed one leg over the other now, her pale skin glowing faintly in the cryptlight. Her voice was soft, but her crimson eyes sharp.

"You said nothing," she murmured, "when they died. When Elio begged you for the truth. You watched them all burn, and you said nothing."

Allen looked at her. "I’ve been wearing this mask for too long."

Silence spread like fog.

Jane leaned back, folding her arms. Her dark veil fluttered in the crypt’s chill. "You want them to know now?" she asked, tilting her head. "Why?"

Allen’s fingers stilled. "Because I want to know what they’d think. What he’d think. What all of them would do if they knew the Devil Emperor isn’t code. Isn’t so final boss AI. But just... another player."

"Another player who murders players," Vivian added cheerfully, licking her finger.

Allen’s smile was faint. "Exactly."

Shea’s voice floated in from the shadows. She’d been perched near the entrance, her sea-glass feathers tucked tight against her form. She stepped forward now, wings unfurling, harp slung lazily across her back. Her tone was softer than the others. More careful.

"Are you... afraid?" she asked.

Allen t her eyes. "No."

He ant it. There was no fear in him. Not in the way others feared being exposed or hated. No fear of backlash, of guild bans, of being hunted. That part of him had died a long ti ago.

"I never thought that way," he said. "I just... want to know what they’ll do." He tilted his head slightly, crimson eyes glowing faintly. "Will they still scream and run when they see ? Or will they try harder? Will they hate more, or will they finally feel like they have a chance?"

Larissa stared at him. "And if they co for you?"

"Then I’ll kill them again."

His voice didn’t rise. Didn’t flinch. It was just... matter of fact.

Jane gave a small, thoughtful nod. "You’re not wrong." She looked toward the shadows, where her undead still stood in silence. "A lie can only last so long. Eventually, it either rots... or becos truth."

Vivian kicked her legs lazily, laughing under her breath. "What if they worship you instead?"

Allen’s smile twitched. "Then they’re dumber than I thought."

Bella rolled her eyes. "Co on, Viv. He’s not that sexy," she joked.

"Speak for yourself," Vivian purred. "I like my god with a kill count."

Zoe glanced toward Allen. "If you really want them to know... you could just tell them. Right now. Post it. Global chat. Forum drop. Go viral."

Allen looked down at his reflection in his blade. His face was blank, his eyes unreadable.

"I don’t want to tell them," he said softly. "I want them to figure it out. One by one. I want them to doubt. I want them to wonder if the one who killed them was a monster... or just another man."

Silence again.

His harem didn’t speak—not because they didn’t have thoughts, but because they understood.

He’d built this identity from blood.

From corpses.

From fear.

He didn’t want to shatter it.

He wanted it tested.

He wanted the world to see the Devil Emperor without the mask.

And still flinch.

Still scream.

Still fall to their knees and break.

But maybe...

Maybe one of them would stand.

Maybe Elio.

He’d seen the boy’s eyes. The desperation. The anger.

It reminded him of soone.

A long ti ago.

Before he beca him.

Before the throne.

Allen stood from the broken seat of bone.

"Let them chase," he said. "Let them hunt down."

He looked at his harem—his demons, his monsters, his lovers.

"I want to see what they beco."
