Villain Ch 1639. Brotherhood, Courage, Sacrifice...

Allen blinked.

He wasn’t expecting this much screen ti.

The devs were really milking it.

The montage painted Alex as so tragic frontline saint—desperately hurling buffs, casting radiant circles, screaming for players to hold the line as hell broke open around him.

Barrier after barrier. Hands glowing. Light surging.

The mana bar flashed red. Overheated. And still he moved.

To shield others.

To protect them.

Allen watched as monsters—his monsters—flooded from the breach.

The devs had slowed the footage again—focus locked on Alex’s face as he staggered, nearly collapsing, lips moving in exhausted prayer.

Players scread in the background. They were dragging each other. Dying beside him. One tank went to cover Alex’s blind side with no shield—just raw desperation.

Soone shouted his na, but he didn’t stop.

The comnts started popping in real-ti overlay.

HolyFlash: He’s holding the damn line!

DPSFail: I cried. No sha.

Mana_Mom: Give that man an SSR skin.

Lightbringer78: Healers like this keep the world from burning.

Allen didn’t smile.

He just watched.

Alex’s final barrier flickered—his mana completely empty. His staff dimd. And yet he stayed. Shaking, but standing.

And then—

That mont.

The cara slowed.

The Devil Emperor appeared behind him in a blink of dark mist.

One gloved hand snapped around Alex’s throat, lifting him off the ground.

Alex flailed, dagger swinging desperately to the Emperor. The damage marker

-1 HP

Then... A mont of shock.

The Devil Emperor’s eyes widened slightly. His head tilted, as if he hadn’t expected the hit. As if—

Allen paused the video.

Then snorted.

"Dramatic," he muttered under his breath.

He let that happen.

The dagger. The mont. The illusion that Alex had landed sothing aningful.

Just to give the players hope. Just enough to build tension. Drama. Sothing they could chew on.

He resud playback.

The video wrapped up with a slow zoom on the broken battlefield. Smoke rising. The throne intact. Allen seated once more, cloak flowing like black fire, eyes distant and cold.

Then the text.

"This is not the end...

The throne still stands, but so do you.

Gather your courage. Light your flas.

The Devil Emperor is watching—

but he is not invincible."

Allen exhaled and leaned back in the car seat. The espresso still rested half-full beside him.

He opened the comnts.

ShadowStriker22: Bro that -1 HP mont gave chills.

Heals4Life: Father^Alex is still the GOAT. Devil Emperor was just lucky.

MilaMoon: He looked so... human in that one second.

Lord_Reaper: All hail the throne. All hail the raid wipes.

BladeOfrcy: That fight made stop breathing. No lie. I want to be one of them soday.

BlessedBean: The way they fought for each other... bro. Not for glory. Not for loot. Just brotherhood.

Shield_Faith: That part where Red_King covered Alex with no shield—I’m still shaking.

CryinInCC: I just want to cry. Like... legit. This is why I love this ga.

Mana_Orphan: I wanna be a healer now. Not even kidding. I want to protect people like that.

LostPixie: "Hold the line," he whispered, and I SOBBED.

Wanderer42: When the music dropped and he cast that last do... I felt everything.

BardBackup: Not a single dry eye in my guild. We watched it together in VC. Soone actually saluted.

TankNadSue: I don’t care if I ever top DPS again. I wanna be the guy who dies keeping you alive.

SoulReviver: This isn’t a raid anymore. It’s a war story.

RadiantWisp: They made believe we could win... even against him.

Allen rolled his eyes and smirked.

The comnts kept rolling—praise, disbelief, raw emotion. People crying. People dreaming. People feeling.

He let out a quiet breath, leaned back in the leather seat, phone still in hand.

And for a second—just a flicker—his smirk faltered.

’I also want to cry...’

Not because they worshipped a version of him he carefully sculpted with fangs and fla. But because...

’I made this.’

The mont. The war. The weight.

Every desperation in that montage was a chord he struck. Every scream in the comnt section, every dream of becoming a healer, every cracked voice in those threads talking about brotherhood, courage, sacrifice...

He didn’t plan all of it.

But he set the stage.

He didn’t know whether he wanted to laugh, smirk, or just... sit there in silence and let it all hit him.

This impact... this scale...

He hadn’t expected it to echo like this.

And sohow, he was proud of it.

Truly proud.

But then... His phone pinged.

A new ssage.

Kafra: The mall’s item sales increased triple today because of the event and your appearance in Glass Maw! Thank you for your hard work~

Allen stared at the ssage for a second.

Of course.

Even in chaos, the monetization team got their cut.

He tapped a reply.

Allen: You’re welco. Tell marketing to stop editing my smile into the thumbnails though. I look like a romcom villain.

He set the phone aside.

Outside, the skyline grew sharper as they neared his destination. The city stretched wide and gleaming beneath the sunlight.

The streets narrowed. The buildings changed. Concrete faded into glass and minimalist stone. And further out, trees crept into view—gardened and curated like luxury pets.

But Allen wasn’t watching the road anymore.

He was thinking.

Of last night.

Of them.

The girls.

His demonesses.

He rembered the slaughter last night. What they did in Glass Maw.

It was brutal.

Effortless.

Perfect.

They didn’t hesitate. Didn’t flinch.

His girls.

His monsters.

His warbrides.

They deserved sothing.

A reward.

Sothing that wasn’t just another title or badge or loot-drop.

Sothing real.

He shifted in his seat. "I need sothing nice..."

Kai glanced at him in the rearview mirror. "Nice?"

Allen nodded. "Yeah. For . For them. After what they pulled off last night, they earned it."

Kai considered. "Shall I arrange sothing in the mansion?"

Allen made a face. "No. Emma’s there. So is Dad. That’s not... relaxing."

A pause.

Kai kept driving, thoughtful. "How about a hotel? Discreet. Top floor."

"Nah," Allen muttered. "Still not good enough."

Kai adjusted his grip on the steering wheel, then glanced at him again. "Then... perhaps the Goldborne mountain villa?"

Allen blinked. "There’s a mountain villa?"

Kai nodded once. "Yes, sir. Private summit. Large outdoor bath, open-air dining, eight bedrooms, full enchantnt privacy seal, zero staff unless summoned. No reporters. No caras. No connections unless you allow it."

Allen leaned back slowly, lips curling.

"...That’ll do."

He stared out the window again, a flicker of sothing dark and satisfied glinting behind his eyes.

This ti, he’d treat them.
