Villain MMORPG: Almighty Devil Emperor and His Seven Demonic Wives Chapter 1370: Post-battle Gossip
Villain Ch 1370. Post-battle Gossip
Gil sheathed his daggers with a dramatic sigh. "We need ranged DPS. There are too many big guys here, and for so reason, all the DPS players in the guild are suddenly 'busy' doing god knows what."
Elio exhaled through his nose, shaking his head. "They're busy chatting on the forums."
Noah frowned. "Chatting? About what?"
Elio smirked, adjusting his gauntlets. "News about Allen blew up. Not to ntion the devs just dropped that announcent about the device and the tournant. The forums are in chaos."
Gil rolled his eyes. "Yeah, that too."
The priest, still catching his breath, nodded. "And don't forget—they'd rather farm dungeons like Black Castle and similar ones."
Noah squinted. "Why Black Castle?"
The priest scoffed. "You really don't know? Those places have 'The Devil Emperor' vibe all over them. And you know how it is—players are just camping there hoping he shows up."
The sorcerer chuckled. "Why? What, are they trying to beat him or sothing?"
The priest smirked. "Didn't you read the latest wild theory floating around the forums? So people actually believe that the Emperor is undefeated and that the only way to stop him is to—get this—drag him into a redemption arc."
Gil let out a bark of laughter. "Oh, hell no. That's real?"
The priest nodded, looking almost amused. "Yeah, they say we need to 'remind him that he was once a prince nad Zael, a hero of the people.' You'd be surprised how many idiots ate that theory up."
Elio let out an exhausted huff, rubbing his forehead. "Unfortunately, that whole nonsense was started by soone from my ex-guild. So yeah, this is as ironic as it gets."
Jas shook his head, a smirk tugging at his lips. "So you guys are just short on people to hunt?"
Gil sighed dramatically, rubbing his temples. "Look, INeedAHotGF is no longer with us. Neither are Liam and Darren. What else do you expect?"
Jas tilted his head, considering that for a mont. "True. But honestly, I thought you wanted to talk about yesterday."
That shut Gil up for half a second. He and Elio exchanged a quick glance.
Yeah, they did want to ask sothing. But they couldn't just dive into it head-on. They had to be subtle, casual.
Gil cleared his throat, keeping his tone light. "Oh, speaking of yesterday, I saw you talking to Sophia. What were you guys talking about?"
Noah's expression barely flickered, but there was sothing in his eyes—just for a second. Then he smirked. "You sure you wanna talk about this here?" He jerked his chin toward the priest and the sorcerer.
The priest raised a hand. "We'll shut up."
The sorcerer nodded, a grin on his face. "Absolutely. We didn't hear a thing."
Noah let out a soft chuckle but didn't answer right away. Instead, he pulled back his bowstring, aiming at a monster creeping between the trees.
-Thwick!
An arrow shot through the darkness, striking a hidden beast between the eyes. It dropped without a sound.
Then Noah finally looked back at them. "Sophia and I just had a chat."
Gil raised an eyebrow. "A chat."
Noah exhaled sharply, shaking his head. "Nothing crazy."
Elio narrowed his eyes slightly. "What kind of chat?"
Noah's lips twitched. "You guys are really nosy today."
Gil grinned. "Call it 'post-battle gossip.'"
Elio smirked, arms crossed over his chest. "I'm serious, though. Did she ask you guys to follow her too?"
Jas and Noah shared a glance before bursting into laughter.
Noah wiped a fake tear from his eye. "Nope. Way more serious than that."
Jas leaned on his bow. "Though, honestly? This whole situation is giving whiplash."
Elio raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
Jas sighed, glancing between them. "Tell this—don't you guys think Darren and Liam have been acting weird?"
Gil scoffed. "I an, yeah. Weird is their default setting."
"No, but seriously," Noah cut in. "One day, they're our bros. Our team. We hunt together, grind together. And they were your ex-teammates too, right, Elio? You guys even won an international tournant once."
Elio's jaw tightened slightly, but he nodded. "Yeah. Back in the day."
Jas continued, his expression darkening. "And then—bam. Suddenly, they're tailing Sophia like a couple of personal bodyguards. Doesn't that strike you as… off?"
Elio let out a slow breath. "I realized that a long ti ago. Before my friendship with Sophia fell apart, I actually asked them about it personally."
Gil tilted his head. "And?"
"They said it was nothing. Acted like I was imagining things. But then they dropped a bomb on ." Elio's voice was steady, but there was sothing cold beneath it. "They told they had feelings for her. That they had always had feelings for her—even back when she was still dating Allen."
Noah and Jas froze.
Then, slowly, they turned to look at each other.
Their gazes t, sothing unspoken passing between them before they turned back to Elio.
Jas exhaled sharply. "Okay. That's weird as hell."
Noah's brows knitted together. "Because, uh… they don't act like guys in love with her."
Jas nodded. "Yeah. If anything, it feels like they're holding a grudge."
Elio's eyes narrowed. "What do you an?"
Jas hesitated for a second before saying, "You know, Darren and Liam once ca to us. It wasn't anything too direct, but they… said so things about Sophia."
Gil frowned. "What kind of 'things'?"
Noah shrugged, crossing his arms. "They didn't spell it out, but it felt like they were trying to warn us. Like they wanted to get us on their side. Maybe even get us to turn against her."
Elio leaned in slightly. "What exactly did they say?"
Noah sighed, shaking his head. "That's the problem. They never actually said what the issue was. Just kept hinting at it. You know that feeling when soone is trying to tell you sothing without actually saying it?"
Jas clicked his tongue. "It was like they were scared to say it out loud. Or maybe… like sothing was keeping them from talking."
The air between them grew heavy.
Gil rubbed the back of his neck. "So, what, you're telling Sophia's got them gagged sohow?"
Noah shrugged. "It felt like that. I don't know. Maybe it's all in our heads, but the way they acted? It didn't scream 'love.' It scread sothing else entirely."
Elio let out a slow exhale, his expression unreadable. "…Interesting."
Jas tilted his head. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
