Villain Ch 1337. Tiring Night

Finally, after twenty minutes, Jordan signaled the end of the session. "Thank you all for your ti. We appreciate your interest, but that will be all for tonight."

There was a round of polite applause as the three of them stood and exited the room. Once they were out of earshot, Emma let out a quiet sigh of relief. "That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be."

Allen gave her a small smile. "You did great."

Jordan clapped a hand on Allen's shoulder, his expression approving. "Well handled. You've got a good head on your shoulders, kid."

"Thanks," Allen said, though he felt more relieved than anything else. It had gone well, better than he had expected. The reporters hadn't managed to throw him off balance, and the entire event, from the duel demonstration to the press conference, had wrapped up without a single major hiccup. Still, the night had taken its toll.

By the ti they returned to the main hall, most of the guests had already left or were making their way out. The atmosphere had shifted, the once-lively energy giving way to a more subdued, llow vibe. The remaining few mingled quietly, exchanging final pleasantries and handshakes before heading off into the night.

Allen caught sight of a few familiar faces—Evan and Geralt saying their goodbyes to Elio and the others, Gerry and Gil chatting near the entrance with so of the staff. Even Alexander was lingering nearby, awkwardly attempting to blend in despite his shy deanor. Azura had already left with her family shortly after the press conference ended, offering Allen a small, knowing smile as she departed.

It was past 10 PM when the party officially ca to a close. The staff began cleaning up the hall, clearing tables, and packing away the remaining food and decorations. There was nothing wild about the event, as expected—it had been a formal affair, through and through. With the Goldborne family na tied to it, everything had to be polished and proper, leaving no room for scandal or drama. That didn't stop so of the younger guests, though.

A small group of young masters approached Allen as he was heading toward the exit. Dressed in sharp suits and reeking of inherited wealth, they carried themselves with the kind of arrogance that only ca from being born into privilege. One of them, a guy Allen vaguely recognized from earlier in the evening, clapped him on the shoulder with a wide grin.

"Hey, Allen! A bunch of us are heading to a real party now. You should join us."

Allen gave him a polite but firm smile, already sensing the trap. He didn't need Kai's warnings to know what was going on. Invitations like these were often more trouble than they were worth—a test, a trap, or both. A chance for soone to get dirt on him, spread a juicy rumor, or drag his na through the mud. He'd heard enough stories from Kai to know how it worked. So young masters thrived on chaos, their less-than-clean reputations providing endless fodder for gossip columns and scandal-hungry reporters.

"Thanks for the offer," Allen said smoothly, stepping back slightly. "But I've got a lot on my plate tonight. Maybe another ti."

The young master frowned, clearly displeased with the rejection, but Allen didn't give him a chance to argue. He nodded politely and turned on his heel, making his way toward the exit where Kai was waiting for him. Kai's expression was impassive as ever, but there was a hint of approval in his eyes.

"Smart move," Kai said quietly as they exited the hall. "Most of those invitations are just bait. Reporters love following guys like them around. Free gossip, easy headlines."

Allen sighed, rolling his shoulders to ease so of the tension. "Yeah, I figured. Thanks for the heads-up earlier."

Kai gave a small nod. "Your helicopter's ready. Let's head back."

By the ti they arrived at the Goldborne Mansion, exhaustion had settled deep into Allen's bones. The grand estate lood ahead, all he could think about was crashing into bed.

He stepped inside. The place was quiet, most of the staff already retired for the night. He made his way upstairs, his footsteps echoing softly against the polished marble floors.

The mont he entered his room, he kicked off his shoes, shrugging off his suit and tossing it onto a nearby chair. His tie followed shortly after, landing in a crumpled heap on the floor. Every movent felt heavy, weighed down by exhaustion. He barely had the energy to undress, but the thought of sleeping in a suit was even less appealing.

Dragging himself into the bathroom, he turned on the shower, letting the hot water wash away the lingering tension. The warmth soothed his tired muscles, but it did little to ease the ntal exhaustion. Talking, smiling, and keeping his guard up all night long was a different kind of drain—one he hadn't fully appreciated until now.

By the ti he stepped out of the shower, he felt slightly more human, though no less tired. He dried off quickly, threw on a pair of comfortable sweatpants, and collapsed onto the bed without bothering with a shirt. His body sank into the mattress, and for a mont, he just lay there, staring up at the ceiling.

He hadn't even had a proper dinner. Snacking throughout the event had kept him going, but now, his stomach felt hollow. Still, the thought of getting up and finding sothing to eat felt like too much effort. Sleep was far more appealing.

His mind drifted back to the night's events—the duels, the investors, Elio's unsettling questions, and Sophia's unwanted approach. Everything felt like a whirlwind, and yet, sohow, it had all gone smoothly. No major disasters, no scandals. Just a long, exhausting night.

At least it was over.

He closed his eyes, exhaling slowly as sleep began to creep in. But for now, all he wanted was rest.

And with that final thought, he let the exhaustion take over, sinking into a deep, dreamless sleep.
