Villain Ch 1332. That Devil Emperor is You, Right?

The silence that followed was thick. For a mont, it seed like Sophia might lash out, but instead, she laughed softly—another bitter, hollow sound.

"You've changed," she said quietly, her gaze dropping to the floor. "You really have."

Allen didn't respond imdiately. He felt a strange mix of emotions—frustration, pity, and sothing he couldn't quite place. Finally, he spoke, his voice calm but firm. "People change. Especially when they have to."

Before either of them could say anything more, the security guard stepped forward again, his expression apologetic but firm. "Mr. Goldborne, should I escort her now?"

Allen gave a short nod. "Yes. Make sure she gets back to Mr. Bell."

The guard turned to Sophia, his tone polite but firm. "Miss, please co with ."

Sophia didn't resist this ti. She gave Allen one last look, sothing unreadable flickering in her eyes—regret, anger, sadness, maybe all three—before allowing herself to be led away.

Allen watched her go, exhaling slowly once she was out of sight. 'That was exhausting.' He rubbed the back of his neck.

Just as he was about to turn toward the main hall, he paused, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Elio," Allen said, his voice calm but firm. "You should stop hiding. I know you're there."

Elio froze, his heart pounding in his chest. 'How the hell did he notice ?' He hadn't even moved, and yet Allen had sensed him. Slowly, he stepped out from behind the wall, trying to keep his composure, though his pulse was racing. His mind scrambled for an excuse, but nothing ca to him.

Allen turned to face him, his expression unreadable but with a hint of annoyance. "I didn't know you had a bad hobby like this now. Eavesdropping? Really?" He crossed his arms. "I thought the last incident at the gym, where you ca with Red_King and MasterCraft, was just a joke. But it seems like you're genuinely interested in my life drama."

"I'm not interested in what happened between you and Sophia," Elio said quickly, his voice steady despite his nerves. "I did… but not anymore."

Allen raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "But that doesn't change the fact that you were eavesdropping."

Elio sighed, knowing there was no point in denying it. "Indeed. And I didn't expect you to bring my na, or Gil's, or Alexander's up during your little argunt with her. But…" He hesitated, then added, "I agree with you. It was her fault. I won't deny that."

Allen's expression relaxed slightly, though his eyes remained sharp. "Good. Then keep this incident between us. It's just unnecessary commotion."

He turned on his heel, clearly ready to leave the awkward encounter behind. But before he could take more than a step, Elio's voice stopped him.

"Wait. I want to talk."

Allen halted, glancing over his shoulder with a curious look. "What is it?"

Elio took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. He wasn't sure if he should say it, but the thought had been eating at him ever since their duel. He couldn't let it go.

"I noticed sothing in our fight earlier," Elio said, his voice quieter but firm. He could feel his palms growing clammy as he continued, "Your movents, your style… It was similar to sothing. Too familiar."

Allen didn't respond imdiately, his gaze steady as he waited for Elio to finish.

Elio swallowed nervously, his mind flashing back to one of the most intense fights he'd ever had in Hell's Gate. "It was similar to my fight at Hell's Gate… with the Devil Emperor."

The silence between them stretched, heavy with unspoken tension.

Elio's heart pounded faster as he added, "You… That Devil Emperor is you, right? You're the player behind that villain."

The words hung in the air. Sothing strange happened—Allen's lips curved into a smirk. A smirk that sent a chill down Elio's spine because it was the sa smirk he had seen countless tis before, during those brutal battles with the Devil Emperor. For a mont, Elio braced himself for what he thought would be a straightforward admission, but instead…

Allen laughed.

Not a normal laugh—a low, mocking, almost sinister laugh. It wasn't loud, but it carried weight, enough to unsettle Elio. His heart pounded faster as Allen took a step closer, his eyes gleaming with sothing unreadable, sothing dark.

"What makes you think I'm the Devil Emperor?" Allen asked, his voice dripping with amusent. "Is it the fact that I'm suddenly a Goldborne? Does that automatically make so secret gaming legend in your mind?"

Elio didn't flinch, though the tension in the air was palpable. "It's not about you being a Goldborne. It's the way you fought."

Allen arched an eyebrow, his smirk widening. "The way I fought?" He took another step forward, closing the gap between them. "Or is it because the Devil Emperor and I share a similar story? A fallen hero turned villain after betrayal?" His tone was light, almost mocking, but his eyes remained cold, calculating.

Elio's hands clenched into fists at his sides. He didn't want to back down, not now. "You had the sa fighting style," he said, his voice steady despite the tension. "The fight… the one in the do. It was just like when I fought the Emperor last ti. He toyed with , made think I had him, but I didn't. It wasn't even close. He was playing with , and that's exactly what you did."

Allen tilted his head slightly, as if considering Elio's words. "So, you think I was playing with you?" he said slowly. "Because I didn't finish you off when I had the chance? Because I… spared your life?"

Elio glared at him. "I know you didn't finish the fight because you wanted to save face. You didn't want to humiliate publicly because I was the last event's champion. Still… It can't fool people's eyes."

Allen chuckled softly, the sound devoid of any real humor. "Ah, yes. The great Elio, winner of the last event." He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. "People might know who won that event—the real gars, the ones who understand the chanics, the strategy. But those tycoons in that hall tonight? The investors, the business elites who don't even know how to manage HP and MP bars? They don't have a clue. To them, it looked like a draw, or just a friendly demo match."
