Villain Ch 1324. Who?

Rolling his shoulders, Elio took a few steps forward, getting a feel for the controls. Despite what Allen had said earlier about needing ti to adjust, the system felt surprisingly natural. Every movent was smooth. He clenched his fists, feeling the sword in his hand and the firm grip of the shield against his forearm.

He tried a few maneuvers, sidestepping quickly to the left, then pivoting on his heel to the right. He swung his sword experintally, the blade cutting through the air with satisfying precision. He could feel a slight resistance with every swing, just enough to make it feel real without slowing him down.

Allen stood a few ters away, watching him with a calm, unreadable expression. He didn't move, didn't speak, just observed.

After about a minute, once Elio felt confident enough, he turned back to Allen, grinning. "Alright. I'm ready," he announced.

Allen raised an eyebrow, his grip on the daggers tightening slightly. "Ready? That was fast. You sure you don't want more ti?" he reminded him.

"I said a minute, didn't I?" Elio slid into a fighting stance, raising his shield slightly and angling his sword forward. His grin widened. "Let's see what you've got," he stated.

Allen didn't respond verbally. Instead, he shifted his weight slightly, his stance low and balanced, the daggers in his hands gleaming ominously. The system gave a countdown and a soft chi, signaling the start of the match.

Elio didn't waste any ti. He darted forward, closing the distance between them in seconds. His sword ca up in a quick, calculated strike aid at Allen's shoulder—not a heavy swing, but fast enough to test Allen's reflexes.

Allen dodged effortlessly, leaning to the side with practiced ease. He didn't counterattack imdiately, instead letting Elio press forward with another swing. This ti, Elio followed up with a shield bash, aiming to knock Allen off balance.

But Allen was fast—too fast. He ducked under the shield, pivoting on his heel and darting to Elio's side. In one fluid motion, he brought one of his daggers up, aiming for Elio's side.

Elio reacted just in ti, twisting his shield arm to block the strike. The impact reverberated through the shield, sending a jolt through his arm. 'Damn, that was close,' he thought.

"You're quicker than before," Elio muttered, stepping back to create so distance.

Allen smirked. "I've been practicing," he said in a calm tone.

Elio didn't doubt it. Allen's movents were smoother, more precise than he rembered. Back then, Allen had always been good—quick and strategic—but now? Now he was sothing else entirely.

Elio charged again, this ti feinting to the left before swinging his sword in a wide arc from the right. Allen sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the blade, but Elio was ready. He followed up with a quick thrust of his shield, aiming for Allen's chest.

The shield connected, sending Allen stumbling back a few steps. Elio grinned. 'Got you.'

But Allen recovered quickly, his expression unchanging. Without missing a beat, he dashed forward, closing the gap between them in an instant. His daggers flashed, one aid high, the other low. Elio raised his shield to block the high strike, but the lower dagger slipped past his guard, grazing his leg.

A soft vibration ran through Elio's body as his HP bar dipped slightly. Not much, but enough to remind him that Allen wasn't holding back.

"Nice hit," Elio admitted, stepping back again to reassess his approach.

Allen didn't respond, his eyes locked onto Elio with a focused intensity. He moved lightly on his feet, circling Elio slowly, waiting for an opening.

Elio tightened his grip on his sword. 'Alright, ti to get serious.'

He charged again, this ti aiming low. His sword swung toward Allen's legs, forcing him to jump back. But Elio wasn't done. As soon as Allen landed, Elio pivoted, swinging his shield around in a powerful arc.

Allen ducked, but the edge of the shield caught him, knocking him off balance for a split second. It was all the ti Elio needed. He followed up with a downward strike of his sword, aiming for Allen's side. His eyes locked onto the target—this was it. He had the opening. The blade descended fast, cutting through the virtual air with precision and intent.

Almost.

The sword should've hit.

But it didn't.

"Huh?" Elio thought, his mind racing as the tip of his sword t nothing but empty air. Allen was no longer there. In the blink of an eye, he had twisted his body, narrowly evading what should have been an unavoidable strike.

Elio pulled back, instinctively raising his shield again. His heart pounded in his chest as Allen landed lightly on his feet, resetting into a low, ready stance. For a brief second, they stood across from each other, both breathing heavily, both calculating their next move.

But sothing felt… off.

Elio's grip tightened on his sword as his eyes narrowed at Allen. He knew Allen was skilled—hell, Allen had always been good at reading his opponents, adapting to their strategies mid-fight. But this wasn't just skill. That dodge, that split-second maneuver, felt almost inhuman. And then there was the smirk.

It was gone as quickly as it ca, replaced by Allen's usual stoic expression. But for that fleeting mont, Elio had seen it—an arrogant, almost predatory grin. And it wasn't just that. Sothing about it felt disturbingly familiar, as if he had seen that exact smirk before.

Deja vu…

Elio's mind reeled, trying to piece together the strange sense of familiarity. It reminded him of soone else, but who?

Before he could dwell on it further, Allen lunged toward him again, moving faster than before. His daggers glead under the crimson sky as he closed the distance in a heartbeat. Elio raised his shield just in ti to block the first strike, the impact reverberating through his arm. But Allen didn't stop there. He spun around, aiming a low swipe at Elio's legs.
