Villain Ch 1302. Not The Sa Allen

Evan shook his head, a small laugh escaping him. "You're not kidding. It's Goldborne—one of the biggest gaming companies in the world—and my dad treated the invitation like it was for a random wedding."

Geralt laughed, though there was a sharp edge to it. "Oh, trust , I know. I had to jump through hoops to convince him. Your dad made give up my passport as collateral just to let you co along."

Evan raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Your passport? Seriously?"

"Yup," Geralt said with a shrug. "He wanted my ID first, but I needed that for the travel arrangents. The passport was the compromise."

Evan sighed, shaking his head. "Sorry for all the trouble. You know how he is."

"Don't sweat it," Geralt said with a shrug. "I know how he is. We've been neighbors long enough for to have a PhD in 'Dealing with Evan's Dad.'" He glanced back at the stage, his grin softening. "But it was worth it. Look at him." He gestured toward the stage where Allen was handling the dia questions like a pro. "That's your brother up there, and he's killing it."

Evan's eyes softened as he looked at Allen again. His older half-brother looked nothing like the boy he rembered. Polished, poised, and confident, Allen stood tall, commanding the room in a way that seed almost surreal.

But it wasn't just his deanor. Allen's entire appearance was a contrast to the past. The mories ca flooding back—Allen as a teenager, wearing the sa few worn-out T-shirts for years. So of them had holes, ones he would carefully stitch up or wear only at ho. Back then, Allen rarely paid attention to his appearance. It wasn't that he didn't care, Evan realized now—it was that he had no reason to. No one had encouraged him, and no one had given him a chance.

Geralt's voice broke through Evan's thoughts. "Man, seeing him like this… I almost want to tear up. Rember those days when he was just scraping by? Hell, rember the shirts with the holes?"

Evan nodded, his voice quiet. "Yeah. And now look at him. Tailor-made suit, hair perfect, standing under those lights like he belongs there." He paused, his chest tightening. "It's almost like he's a different person."

"But he's not," Geralt said firmly. "That's the beauty of it. Sure, he looks different, but he's still the sa Allen. The one who never asked for anything, never expected anything." He paused for a mont before he smiled faintly, though his expression grew more somber. "Do you think your mom and dad would regret it if they saw this?"

Evan scoffed, shaking his head. "Nah. Dad's too stubborn, and mom… Well, she's made her feelings clear. They've spent years pretending Allen doesn't exist. That's not gonna change, no matter how successful he gets."

Geralt's jaw tightened slightly, but he nodded. "You're right. And honestly, Allen knows that. He's known for years."

"And maybe that's for the best," Evan added. "Mom doesn't want him, and Allen doesn't care to change that. At this point, their relationship is just a formality." He exhaled slowly, his gaze still fixed on Allen. "I wonder if this will change him, though. You know, being a young master now. Having all this wealth."

Geralt smiled knowingly. "Do you really think a guy like Allen would let that change him?"

Evan thought for a mont, then shook his head. "No. If he were the type to change, he wouldn't have gone out of his way to invite us here. He wouldn't have made sure we had VIP seats and the best accommodations," he stated.

"Exactly," Geralt said, leaning back in his chair. "This is my first ti riding in luxury class on a train, and I've never stayed in a presidential suite at a five-star hotel before this. All thanks to Allen," he smiled.

Evan chuckled softly, a genuine warmth in his voice. "Yeah. He really does go all out."

The two fell into a comfortable silence. They turned their attention back to the stage. For both of them, seeing Allen like this wasn't just a mont of triumph—it was a reminder of how far he'd co and how much he deserved it.

On a different row, Gerry was grinning from ear to ear, clearly enjoying himself more than he'd expected. Beside him, Gilbert (Gil) sat with a similar smile, though his was more out of sheer excitent. Gerry had specifically chosen Gil to tag along for this event. Let's be real—Gerry wasn't a gar. Not even close. He wouldn't know a joystick from a door handle if soone handed him both blindfolded.

Gil was also the perfect wingman for this. Not only did he know his stuff, but he also already knew Allen. Sure, their last eting wasn't anything groundbreaking, but Gerry figured they were on friendly-enough terms to avoid any awkwardness. Plus, Gil had connections. He was familiar with so of the other nas here—Elio, Azura, Alexander. And, of course, he'd jumped at the chance to co along. He'd even gone so far as to promise Gerry lunch for the privilege. A win-win situation.

They'd cut it close getting to the venue, though. The lights were already dimd by the ti they arrived, and an usher hustled them straight to their seats. Gil didn't even get a chance to soak it all in before the show started. But the mont the montage and trailer kicked off? That hit different. Gil had full-on goosebumps, and Gerry couldn't help but glance at him every now and then, amused by how starstruck he looked.

And then the big bombshell. Allen Goldborne. Gil's jaw practically hit the floor. He'd known Allen was a pro gar—hell, the guy had a reputation—but finding out he was that Allen? The heir to a gaming empire? That was sothing else. Gerry, on the other hand, was just sitting there, trying not to laugh at Gil's reaction.
