Villain Ch 1273. Who Are You Supposed to be? The Cavalry?

The City Core flickered weakly, its health bar dangerously low as the monsters Allen had summoned tore into its glowing surface. The defenders struggled valiantly—Father^Alex casting one desperate Healing Wave after another, the tanks dragging monsters away, the DPS players trying to stem the tide—but it was clear they were fighting a losing battle.

Allen walked closer to the chaos. His smirk deepened as he watched the defenders crumble. The glow of the core lit his face, reflecting the twisted satisfaction in his eyes.

"Almost there," he murmured to himself, his tone almost playful. "I wonder… will the core crack like glass? Or will it shatter?"

But just as he prepared to close the distance to the core, a sudden barrage of spells rained down from above. Bright streaks of Fireballs, Arcane Blasts, and Lightning Bolts lit up the battlefield, slamming into the ground around him. For a mont, the defenders rallied, hope flickering in their eyes as the relentless assault forced Allen to take a step back.

From the rubble and shadows of the ruined city, the Arcane Wardens Guild erged, their mages and ranged DPS forming a line of gleaming staves and glowing bows. They stood together, their robes billowing in the wind created by their spells, their faces determined. At their head was Sophia, her violet hair catching the light of the flas as she raised her staff high.

"It's over, Emperor!" Sophia called out, her voice carrying over the battlefield. "Your reign of terror ends here."

Allen tilted his head, amused by her declaration. "Oh?" he said, his voice dripping with mockery. "And who are you supposed to be? The cavalry?"

Sophia ignored the jibe, her focus on the performance of her life. She began casting a dazzling array of Holy Light and Mass Heal, her spells cascading over the remaining defenders and the core. The other Arcane Wardens unleashed their attacks in perfect synchronization, their Rain of Fire, Chain Lightning, and Frost Novas filling the battlefield with color and energy.

"This is it!" one of the Arcane Wardens shouted, their voice filled with conviction. "We've got him now!"

Sophia's eyes glimred with pride. This was her mont. She imagined herself in the highlight reels, her na displayed in glowing letters during the event recap video. Her Mass Heal spells shone brightly, the holy energy radiating from her like a beacon. Every move she made seed calculated, precise, and—most importantly—flashy.

She thought to herself, 'If I could assist them, they'll definitely invite to their event. Also…This is the perfect montage material.'

But Allen simply laughed. It wasn't a quiet chuckle or a low murmur; it was a full-bodied, mocking laugh that sent chills through the air. His voice carried across the battlefield, cutting through the noise of the spells. "You think this is enough to stop ? How adorable."

He moved suddenly, faster than anyone could react. Shadow Step activated, his figure disappearing into the shadows and reappearing directly in front of one of the mages. The mage barely had ti to gasp before Allen's blade pierced through their chest.

[Player Defeated!]

Before the others could react, Allen vanished again, reappearing behind a hunter. With one clean swing, the hunter fell, their health bar dropping to zero.

[Player Defeated!]

"Spread out!" Sophia scread, panic creeping into her voice. "He's targeting the squishies! Stay mobile!"

The Arcane Wardens tried to scatter, their formations breaking as Allen moved through them like a specter of death. Each ti he reappeared, another player fell, their health bars reduced to nothing before they could even raise a defense.

"Where is he?!" one of the mages cried, their voice trembling as they spun in circles, trying to track Allen's movents.

"Here," Allen said softly, his voice right behind them. The mage turned just in ti to see his glowing crimson blade before it struck.

[Player Defeated!]

Sophia gritted her teeth, her hands trembling as she cast another Mass Heal. She tried to maintain her composure, but it was slipping. Every ti she thought they had Allen pinned down, he slipped through their grasp, leaving another trail of blood in his wake.

"We can still do this!" she shouted, more to herself than anyone else. She unleashed a Holy Smite, the radiant energy streaking toward Allen. The spell hit, a burst of light enveloping his figure. For a mont, she thought she'd landed a solid blow.

But as the light faded, Allen stood unhard, his smirk as infuriating as ever. "Pathetic as always," he said, tilting his head.

Sophia's confidence wavered, her hands shaking as she raised her staff again. "No… I—"

Allen activated Telekinesis Blast, the wave of force slamming into her and sending her sprawling to the ground. Her health bar dipped dangerously low, and she coughed as she struggled to get back up.

The remaining Arcane Wardens rallied, their desperation pushing them to unleash everything they had. Spells rained down on Allen from all sides, the air crackling with magic. But Allen raised his hand, summoning Barrier. The glowing shield absorbed the attacks effortlessly, leaving him untouched.

"You're wasting your ti," he said, his tone almost bored. He stepped forward, his blade dragging along the ground, leaving sparks in its wake.

Sophia's mind raced. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. She was supposed to be the hero, the one who turned the tide. But now, she could only watch as her guildmates fell one by one, Allen's relentless assault dismantling their ranks.

"Why won't you just die?!" one of the mages scread, their voice breaking as they launched another Arcane Blast.

Allen appeared in front of them in an instant, his blade cutting through their chest before they could react.

[Player Defeated!]

"Because," Allen said, his voice calm and cold, "you're not strong enough to kill ."

He turned his gaze to Sophia, who was still struggling to her feet. His smirk deepened as he raised his sword. "And now it's your turn."

Sophia's heart pounded as she tried to cast another spell, but her mana was running low, and her hands were shaking too badly to focus. "No… wait…"
