Villain Ch 1154. Here, Kitty, Kitty~

The group exchanged uneasy glances.

"It looks like whatever it is, it's trying to lure us in," Allen said, his voice low.

"A monster trying to lure us?" Larissa asked, raising an eyebrow. "That sounds weird."

"Weird, but not impossible," Shea added, her eyes narrowing in thought.

"Could it be players?" Alice wondered aloud, though she didn't sound convinced.

Allen rubbed his chin, thinking back to past encounters. "Maybe it's a quest. This feels similar to what happened back at the emperor's tomb."

At the ntion of the emperor's tomb, the girls all turned to Allen, collectively cringing at the mory.

"Yeah, I rember that," Vivian said, shaking her head. "That ghost woman was sothing."

"Since this is probably a quest, we should follow it, right?" Jane's voice was practically bubbling with excitent again.

Larissa rolled her eyes, clearly less enthusiastic about the whole thing. "Here we go again..."

Allen couldn't help but smile at the banter. "I guess it's better than a boring walk through the forest."

Jane, clearly not needing any more encouragent, started walking toward the sound again. She humd lightly to herself, her steps almost bouncing with excitent. "Here, kitty, kitty~" she called out playfully, as if coaxing the mysterious entity out of hiding.

The others followed behind, though their enthusiasm was far more muted compared to Jane's reckless curiosity.

The deeper they ventured, the more the forest seed to close in around them. The trees were taller now, their branches twisting and curling like skeletal arms reaching for the group. The occasional chi of the bells echoed through the woods, growing louder and more taunting.

"There's no way it is a kitty," Larissa muttered, side-eyeing Jane's excitent. Her tone was sharp, but there was a hint of amusent in her voice.

"Bet it's a big kitty," Vivian giggled, a playful smirk dancing on her lips.

"Or a monster kitty," Bella added, her voice filled with sarcasm as she scanned their surroundings.

Zoe, clearly irritated by the endless chase, glanced around, her tone dripping with frustration. "This better not be so wild goose chase."

"If it is, at least we're all equally annoyed together," Shea jokes.

The bells kept ringing. Weirdly, each chi seed more distant as they tried to approach. Every ti they thought they were getting closer, the sound would shift, moving further ahead as if deliberately trying to avoid them. It wasn't long before everyone began to feel the frustration creeping in.

"This thing's toying with us," Allen muttered, narrowing his eyes at the thicket ahead. His instincts were telling him sothing wasn't right, but at the sa ti, his curiosity drove him to keep pushing forward.

They kept moving, their footsteps quickening as they followed the sound, but after what felt like an eternity, Vivian stopped suddenly, her expression darkening. "Wait a minute... haven't we been here before?"

The group halted, exchanging glances.

"What? No, we've been following the sound the whole ti," Jane said, looking back at them, her brow furrowed in confusion.

"No, she's right," Zoe added, her voice growing sharp. "We've passed this spot already. Look at the tree—it's marked."

They all looked at the large tree that Zoe pointed to. Sure enough, there was a deep mark in the bark—a mark they'd seen earlier when they'd started chasing the bells.

"We've been running in circles," Larissa sighed, clearly annoyed. "This thing is ssing with us."

Whatever was making the sound, it wasn't leading them anywhere. It was keeping them trapped, running in circles like fools.

"Great, just great," Bella muttered, crossing her arms in irritation. "We've been chasing this thing for nothing."

The group stood in a tight circle, clearly frustrated with how the mysterious sound kept leading them around in circles. The bells rang out again, taunting them from the distance, the sound echoing through the dense forest. Everyone looked tense, tired of the endless pursuit.

Allen sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as he thought. "We need to change our thod. The ga developers wouldn't put sothing like this here for no reason. It's not just a random sound—it's part of a quest, but we're not approaching it right."

"So what's the plan then?" Shea asked, tilting her head as she flicked a leaf off her shoulder.

"Rather than chase it, we're going to catch it," Allen said, his eyes narrowing with determination.

As if on cue, the entire group turned to Alice, their expectant gazes falling on her.

Alice raised her eyebrows, her lips quivering up into a smirk. "Okay, okay, I get it. Shadow stuff, sneaking around, catching sothing in the dark—yeah, that's my specialty."

"Perfect," Allen said with a nod. "We'll let it ring one more ti and when it does, you're on it."

The group waited in tense silence, their eyes darting around the thick trees, watching for any movent. The bells rang out again, but this ti, they were ready. The sound ca from a different direction, further ahead but still within range.

Without hesitation, Alice activated her Shadow Bind, sending dark tendrils slithering across the ground. The shadows moved with a life of their own, wrapping around the source of the sound in an instant.

"Gotcha," Alice muttered, her eyes gleaming in satisfaction.

But just as quickly as the shadows ensnared the figure, it slipped free, vanishing into the dark forest once again. The bells went silent. However, sothing clattered to the ground with a faint thud—a small, glowing object left behind in its hasty escape.

"Damn it, it slipped away!" Alice grumbled, clearly annoyed, but her eyes quickly locked onto the glowing object. "But it dropped sothing."

The group gathered around the fallen item, their curiosity piqued. "A bell? Seriously?" Zoe said, raising an eyebrow. "All that chasing for this?"

"It's not just a regular bell," Allen said, his eyes narrowing as he studied it. "Look at the runes. This thing's enchanted." He bent down and picked it up, holding it between his fingers. It was a small, tallic bell—rusty and old, with strange runes etched into its surface, glowing faintly with an ominous light.
