Villain Ch 1110. He Was As Bad As The Authors Who Drop The Stories Midway!

The corpse let out one final, bitter laugh. "Now... I fade. I thought bringing you here would give a chance at revenge, but it was never ant to be."

Allen watched as the last flickers of light in the corpse's eyes began to fade. The regret and anger that had fueled the figure for so long seed to dissipate, leaving only a hollow shell behind.

"Farewell, Devil Emperor," the corpse whispered, its voice barely audible now. "The throne... is yours. But beware... the power cos with a price."

And with that, the corpse fell silent, its body slumping back against the throne, lifeless once more. The glow in the room dimd, leaving Allen and the girls standing in a room that now felt eerily quiet.

They stood there, waiting. Allen's eyes swept over the chamber, his posture still tense, his instincts on high alert. He half-expected the other corpses scattered across the floor to start rising, or for so hidden trap to spring the mont they let their guard down. The unsettling stillness made the air feel heavier, as if sothing was still waiting to happen. But nothing moved.

The eerie quiet remained.

It was Larissa who finally broke the silence. "After all of that, he didn't even say the most important part." She cringed. "He didn't say what the price was."

Shea let out a small laugh, though it was more out of frustration than amusent. "Right? I an, seriously, he just left us hanging." She looked around at the others with a raised brow, her expression incredulous. "It's like he built up this whole big mont, only to drop it at the last second. No explanation, no closure—just... nothing."

Jane huffed, crossing her arms as she let out an irritated breath. "He was as bad as the authors who drop the story right after they've set up a huge cliffhanger! What a jerk!" Her voice was sharp, and she didn't try to hide the disdain in her tone.

The others turned to Jane in unison, raising eyebrows at her outburst.

Allen, who had been quietly reflecting on the corpse's final words, blinked in mild surprise. Even Larissa's expression softened with amusent as she exchanged a look with Zoe.

"What?" Jane said defensively, frowning as she looked from one face to another. "I said what I said. I believe all readers understand this feeling. You get hooked, you invest ti, and then the author just leaves you hanging forever. It's infuriating!"

Larissa sighed dramatically, but there was a smile playing at the edges of her lips. She stepped closer to Jane and patted her shoulder in a mock comforting gesture. "Can you please stop ntioning books or stories for once?" Her voice had a pleading tone, though it was laced with a teasing edge.

"This is a cursed dungeon filled with traps, corpses, and undead emperors, and sohow, you always manage to bring it back to reading."

Jane grinned, clearly unfazed by Larissa's plea. "No," she said simply, her tone playful. "Books are life, and I'll make sure to remind you of that every chance I get." She gave Larissa a quick wink, clearly enjoying herself.

Zoe, who had been quietly observing the whole exchange with her usual calm deanor, exhaled a long breath. "That's just Jane being Jane," she said, her voice soft but with a touch of amusent. "We could be fighting off a high level dragon, and she'd still find a way to compare it to a plot twist."

Allen chuckled quietly. The eerie atmosphere of the chamber, though still present, seed a little less suffocating now that they were talking.

"Honestly," Allen said, turning back toward the throne and the lifeless figure slumped upon it, "I was expecting more. If this thing was tied to the Devil Emperor's past, it didn't exactly give us any clear answers. But yeah, I did catch a thing or two from what he said."

"Yeah," Bella agreed, still eyeing the corpses scattered around the room. "I an, we got so weird speech about power and regret, but no real information about what it ans for us or this place. Just feels like... another layer of mystery."

Vivian crossed her arms. She glanced at the throne. "If this is part of your character's lore, Allen, it's like the developers left it unfinished. Like they dropped so hints but didn't give us enough to connect the dots." She tilted her head slightly, frowning in thought. "Feels like we're missing sothing."

Jane stepped forward, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "It could be tied to an event that hasn't been released yet. Maybe the developers are saving this part of the story for a follow-up after the event. Or... maybe we just triggered a fragnt of sothing bigger, and we're not supposed to know everything yet."

Larissa rolled her eyes playfully. "Here we go again. Another story analogy," she teased, though there was a lightness in her tone that suggested she didn't mind Jane's theory-driven enthusiasm all that much.

Jane just grinned, clearly proud of herself. "Hey, I'm just saying, it makes sense! We triggered so lore fragnts, and now we're stuck with half the story. Classic plot setup."

Zoe tilted her head, her expression thoughtful as she scanned the room. "Okay, but now what? How do we get out of here? There's no obvious door. There's got to be sothing—maybe a secret door, or a passage hidden in the walls."

Bella glanced around with a frown. "Or maybe we're supposed to blow sothing up. I an, this is a dungeon—sotis the only way forward is to destroy part of the environnt, right?"

Vivian leaned against a nearby pillar, her eyes sharp as she surveyed the room. "Or trigger sothing," she mused. "There could be another trap or a hidden switch. We're definitely not staying in here with all these corpses."

Allen, who had been quiet as the others speculated, glanced around the room again, his gaze more thodical this ti. He noticed sothing in the corner of his vision that had escaped him earlier—a large gap behind the throne, half-obscured by a torn curtain. It wasn't entirely hidden, but it was subtle enough that it could be missed in the chaos.
