Villain Ch 1073. Cursed Voice

The letters faded and were replaced by more letters. The priestess sounded more pitiful and desperate as if she was in pain. Sobs sounded between the words.

---

The song grew louder, piercing, relentless. It felt like the voice was digging into my soul. The pain beca unbearable. Blood began to drip from my ears. My body trembled, but I couldn't move, I couldn't run. I was frozen.

And then it happened.

A dark power… It consud , and everyone who heard that voice. A power that was not from the Gods. It twisted everything, corrupting our souls. It consud us, turning us into these cursed beings, dood to wander these halls in agony forever.

I tried to scream for help, but my voice was lost in the darkness.

I felt helpless, but I couldn't give up. I had to keep screaming. Soone… Soone would hear it and co to save us…

---

The voice faded, leaving the group in a stunned silence. The glowing writing above the nto flickered out, vanishing into the air like smoke.

Once again, the girls turned their gazes toward Allen, as if silently accusing him of being the one behind the curse. Their expressions seed to say, 'This was your doing, wasn't it?'

Allen shot them all a flat stare, clearly unamused. "That's definitely not ," he said firmly. "She ntioned a singer. The Devil Emperor doesn't sing," he reminded them, his tone deadpan.

Vivian raised an eyebrow. "She did ntion a devil, though," she said pointedly, her eyes gleaming with amusent.

"And you do like singing those creepy nursery rhys before the battle," Larissa added with a teasing grin.

Allen huffed in exasperation, clearly not in the mood for their playful accusations. "C'mon. That creepy nursery rhy thing was a spontaneous idea when I first got this character," he explained, trying to defend himself. "I thought it would give the Devil Emperor a deeper, more unsettling personality. The developers wouldn't just randomly incorporate that into the ga lore."

Bella, who had been listening quietly, snickered. "You've got to admit, though, the timing is suspicious."

Alice, still amused, chid in. "Maybe the developers did take inspiration from your creepy singing. Who knows how they build these stories?"

Allen shook his head, refusing to be swayed by their teasing. "Look, this curse has nothing to do with . The singer they captured was clearly sothing otherworldly, and whatever they tried to do with her went horribly wrong."

"Then what do you think really happened?" Jane asked, genuinely curious now. "Why would her voice curse everyone like that?"

Allen frowned, thinking it over. "It could be that the creature they captured wasn't just a singer. She was sothing far more dangerous—sothing that couldn't be controlled. Maybe her voice was a weapon, sothing ant to lure in and destroy anyone who heard it."

Larissa nodded thoughtfully. "That would explain why the priestess and the others were so eager to use her voice in the ceremony. They thought they were harnessing a power to please the gods, but instead, they unleashed a curse they couldn't control."

Vivian crossed her arms. "But why would they bring in sothing so dangerous for a good ceremony? It doesn't add up."

Zoe spoke up. "Maybe they didn't know what they were dealing with. Maybe they thought the singer was sothing divine, only to realize too late that they were playing with dark forces."

Alice grinned. "It's possible. Maybe the real question is who—or what—the singer really was. If she wasn't human, then what was she?"

Allen sighed, clearly done with the speculation. "We'll probably never know for sure, but one thing's certain—this place was cursed because they tried to control sothing beyond their understanding. They failed, and now we're dealing with the aftermath."

With a huff, Allen decided to store the Priestess's nto back in his inventory, wanting to move on. But as he went to store it, the nto suddenly shattered into pieces, its once-glowing form disintegrating in his hand.

In the sa instant, a deafening scream echoed through the room—the final wail of the Angry Priestess. The sound was piercing, filled with rage and agony, making the group wince as it reverberated through the monastery.

Jane imdiately clapped her hands over her ears, grimacing in discomfort. "Ugh, I hate that sound," she muttered, her voice filled with irritation.

Allen, however, wasn't focused on the scream. His attention was drawn to the faint rustling and distant groaning that began to rise from around them. His sharp ears picked up the unmistakable sound of movent from the second floor—the floor that had remained ominously silent until now. And around them.

"I think that's a bad sign," Allen said, his voice low and tense.

The others fell silent, their eyes following Allen's gaze toward the staircase that led to the upper level of the monastery.

Larissa, her eyes narrowing, instinctively summoned her blood tendrils. "Do you think we triggered sothing?"

Shea strumd a few chords on her harp, the soft notes clashing with the tension in the air. "It sounds like we woke up sothing big," she murmured, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the darkened hallway leading to the upper floor.

Bella, her fox ears perking as she listened more closely, shook her head. "I don't think it's just sothing. It sounds like a lot. Whatever's up there isn't just one monster."

Alice, standing beside Bella, her broom at the ready, tilted her head slightly. "And it's not just coming from the stairs," she said, her voice low. "It's coming from all directions."

Allen's grip tightened around his sword, his red eyes glowing faintly as he assessed the situation. The faint rustling had grown louder, the sound of shuffling feet, distant groans, and the eerie scraping of sothing—many things—against stone walls. Whatever they had triggered with the shattered nto was waking up, and it was closing in fast.

"Just prepare for the worst," Allen said, his voice calm but commanding. "Concentrate your attacks on crowd control or area skills. We need to keep them from overwhelming us."

The girls nodded in unison.
