Villain Ch 1070. Deaf

"What the hell was that?" Jane whispered, her dramatic tone now gone, replaced by genuine unease.

Larissa's eyes narrowed, her blood tendrils creeping back out instinctively. "That didn't sound like a typical cursed priest or monk."

Zoe's tentacles flared slightly as she positioned herself defensively, her eyes scanning the dark corridor ahead. "No, it didn't."

"New monster?" Larissa asked, her voice low, as she prepared for whatever awaited them.

"Let's check it out," Shea suggested, opening her blade feathers wings as she moved cautiously forward.

Bella shook her head and sighed. "If this were a horror movie, we'd be the idiots who walk straight into a death trap. We'd die for sure."

Larissa chuckled, glancing over her shoulder as she followed Shea. "But this isn't a horror movie, it's a VR ga. And where there's trouble and danger, we go toward it. That's the fun part, right?"

Bella muttered under her breath as she reluctantly followed. "Yeah, fun. Sure."

They moved deeper into the ruined monastery. The air felt heavier, and the faint sound of the woman's scream still lingered in the distance. They rounded a corner and finally found the source.

Standing in the middle of a large, decayed room was a priestess. Unlike the other cursed beings they had encountered, she seed to hold a higher position—her tattered robes were more ornate, and a broken crest hung from her neck. Her undead form was gaunt, her skin a sickly gray, but what stood out most was the blood pouring from her ears.

She was screaming, a mix of anger and despair in her voice, as if she were caught in a loop of rage and sorrow.

She was unlike anything they had seen so far. Despite being an undead creature like the others, her agony was too clear, and her cries sounded disturbingly human.

Behind her, a set of old stone stairs led upward, seemingly to the second floor of the monastery. The priestess stood between them and whatever secrets the monastery held on the upper levels.

Angry Priestess (Mini Boss)

"That's a weird monster. Why is her blood pouring from her ears?" Larissa stated, tilting her head as she assessed the situation.

Vivian chid in with a grin. "She looks like a nagging mom who went berserk after her kids trashed the house she just cleaned."

Shea nodded in agreent, the corners of her mouth curling into a smile. "Yeah, that makes sense. She's probably pissed about sothing. And judging by the scream, she's really pissed."

Zoe examined the priestess with a more analytical gaze. "She's strong. Her level's high enough to give us trouble, so we need to be careful. If we charge recklessly, we might regret it."

Vivian twirled her whip. "So, what's the plan?"

Jane stepped forward confidently, raising a hand. "I'll talk to her. You guys hide and attack if things go south."

Allen raised an eyebrow, watching the priestess, who still hadn't noticed them. "You sure about that? She seems... well, deaf."

Jane grinned mischievously. "I know sign language. Take it easy. If she doesn't want to listen, we'll just fight her."

Larissa laughed softly, shaking her head in disbelief. "Oh, this should be good."

Allen nodded. "Let her try. In the worst case, we will fight her." Despite his agreent, he didn't think this would work. It was worth a try.

Jane approached the priestess. The rest of the group moved into position, hiding behind crumbling pillars and fallen bookshelves. They watched with a mix of skepticism and amusent. Jane slowly walked forward, her hands raised in a gesture of peace. The priestess's screams continued, but Jane showed no hesitation. She moved closer, her eyes fixed on the tortured creature.

The priestess's eyes were wide, filled with a strange mix of anger and fear. She was clearly searching for sothing—or soone—to bla for the catastrophe that had befallen the monastery. Her mouth moved as if she were yelling accusations, but no words ca out, only that sa eerie scream.

Blood continued to pour from her ears, giving her an even more grotesque appearance as she writhed in tornt.

Jane, standing a few feet away, took a deep breath and raised her hands, carefully forming sign language. For a brief mont, the priestess paused. The entire group held their breath, not really expecting it to work, but hoping for so kind of reaction.

To their shock, the priestess responded. Her twisted fingers moved in sharp, erratic gestures, but it was clear she was attempting to communicate. Her movents were jerky and strange, like a puppet being pulled by invisible strings.

"I can't believe it works..." Larissa whispered in disbelief, her voice barely audible as she watched the bizarre interaction.

" neither," Allen said, equally surprised.

The priestess made another set of hand movents, more frantic this ti. Her wide eyes locked onto Jane. Jane, her face serious and focused, nodded solemnly, keeping up the ruse.

Then, Jane went back to them.

Shea, crouched behind a broken pillar, leaned forward in curiosity. "What did she say?" she asked, her eyes wide with interest.

The group expected so deep revelation about the priestess's cursed existence or the dark history of the monastery. After all, it was impressive that the ga developers had gone so far as to implent sign language in the ga. The attention to detail was remarkable.

Jane gave them an innocent look, shaking her head from side to side. "I don't know," she said nonchalantly. "She just made random hand movents, and I pretended to understand."

There was a collective pause. Allen's jaw dropped, Shea cringed, Larissa almost facepald herself, and Zoe blinked in disbelief. They had been ready for anything—except that.

"Seriously?" Larissa groaned, glaring at Jane. "Why didn't you say sothing earlier instead of acting like you knew what was happening?"

Jane shrugged, still wearing that innocent expression as if she hadn't just faked her way through an encounter with a potential mini-boss. "Oh, well, I didn't want to interrupt the mont. I an… she tried. Plus, I figured it might stop her from screaming again…"
