Villain Ch 1056. Grood

"Oh, you guys know each other?" Marcus asked, looking between Allen, Jas, and Mila with a hint of curiosity.

Allen kept his professional smile intact, though even he hadn't expected to see Jas and Mila here. "Yes," he replied smoothly, his voice calm and controlled. "I've t them a couple of tis. Not for business, though. Just casual etings."

Jas finally snapped out of his stunned silence, though his mind was still scrambling to process what he was seeing.

"What are you doing here, Allen?" Jas blurted, his voice a mixture of confusion and disbelief. He knew, logically, that Allen being here ant he had a close connection with the Goldborne family. That much was clear. But it didn't add up. People in their circle usually flaunted such connections. Yet Allen?

He had kept it hidden.

Allen raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by Jas' reaction. His lips curled into a small smile, the kind that gave away nothing but calm control. "Business. Just like you, I imagine."

Jas decided to play it cool. He dropped into one of the chairs at the table, leaning back slightly, trying to regain so semblance of composure. "So, you're Goldborne's rep? I wasn't expecting this."

Allen's smile widened ever so slightly as he, too, sat down. "Yes."

Mila, however, hadn't moved. She was still standing, frozen in place like a statue. Her heart raced in her chest. She had thought she knew Allen. The mysterious guy who was brilliant in his VR gas. But now, as she stared at him in his perfectly tailored blazer, looking every bit the young heir, Mila's mind couldn't stop spiraling.

Her thoughts kept circling back to what Jas had said earlier in the elevator. The guess about Jordan Goldborne liked Allen and decided to take him as his daughter's fiance.

'Could it be true?' she thought, her throat tightening as the idea took root.

Could Allen be destined for sothing much bigger than she had ever imagined? Was he being grood to marry Emma Goldborne, the family's only female heir?

The thought made her stomach churn. She had developed real feelings for Allen, even if she had never fully admitted them to herself.

"You look like just saw a ghost, Mila," Allen said. His tone was calm, but there was a hint of curiosity behind his words, as if he could sense the turmoil going on inside her.

Jas let out an awkward laugh, trying to diffuse the tension. He reached over and gently pulled Mila down to sit next to him. "She seed really shocked," Jas said, still chuckling nervously. "We thought we were going to et Mr. Jordan Goldborne, or maybe so random staff mber. Definitely not you."

He then gave a slight smile, his expression unreadable. "I guess the conversation will go smoothly then, since we already know each other. I an… you should explain why you're suddenly a Goldborne representative. That was really surprising. You should've told us," Jas said, trying to keep things light, though a part of him felt uneasy.

He had just teased Mila earlier about Allen's possible arrangent with the Goldborne family, but he hadn't imagined it would be this deep.

Allen leaned back slightly, maintaining his calm deanor. He sighed softly, knowing that this wasn't the right ti or place for personal revelations. "I can't say much right now," he said, his tone shifting to sothing more professional, almost distant. "But you'll find out soon enough, probably at the conference."

His response was cool, asured—exactly the kind of answer expected from a business representative. But Allen wasn't trying to be cold. He simply couldn't make any personal announcents in a setting like this. That responsibility fell to Jordan, not him. For now, his role was to maintain professionalism and let things unfold when the ti was right.

But his words had the opposite effect on Mila. Hearing Allen's statent and how he spoke so formally, made her chest tighten painfully. Her heart pounded in her ears as she sat there, struggling to make sense of what was happening.

Allen's frown deepened as he looked more closely at her. There was genuine concern in his eyes now. "Are you okay? You look pale," he asked, his voice softening. He wasn't blind to the fact that sothing was off with Mila, but he didn't know the reason behind it.

Jas turned to Mila with a more serious expression. "Co on, Mila," he said in a low voice. "I know what you're thinking. What I said in the elevator was just a joke. Don't let it get to you. He's right in front of you now.

Just talk to him."

Mila swallowed hard, her mind spinning. Jas had ant his comnts in the elevator as a lighthearted tease, but now, after everything she had seen, they didn't feel like a joke at all. Her imagination had run wild with the possibility and hearing him speak so distantly only fueled her fears. What if he was engaged to Emma?

What if the real reason he had kept his life a secret was because he was tied up in family obligations that she could never understand?

She opened her mouth to say sothing, but the words caught in her throat. She wanted to ask him directly—'What's going on? Why didn't you tell ?'—but the formality of the situation made it impossible. Instead, she just sat there, staring at Allen, her heart aching.

Allen's gaze didn't leave Mila as he watched her silently struggle. He could sense her uneasiness, but in this formal setting, there wasn't much he could do. His position as a representative ant maintaining a certain level of professionalism, and right now, that ant not diving into personal matters, no matter how much he wanted to ask her what was really going on.

"Maybe a drink will make us feel better?" Marcus suddenly offered with a friendly smile. "Besides, the deal's been made, so we should celebrate it."

Allen glanced at Marcus. "It sounds like a good idea," he said, his voice steady, though his thoughts were still on Mila.

Within monts, a servant arrived with a bottle of wine, pouring the deep red liquid into their glasses. Allen, Marcus, and Jas all raised their glasses in a toast, hoping the event they had just sealed the deal on would run smoothly.

"To a successful event and conference," Marcus said with a grin.

"May everything go off without a hitch," added Jas.

"To a successful event," Allen echoed, clinking his glass with the others. He glanced once more at Mila, hoping to catch her eye, but she was focused on her own glass, her expression distant.
