A distinguished lady clad in a black cheongsam, shadowed by two female bodyguards walked into Rose Bar. Her arrival turned heads. Her presence was like a ripe peach, exuding mature charm. Her curvaceous figure paired with a flawlessly delicate visage commanded discreet glances from everyone.
Yet, no one dared to approach. The Rose Bar wasn’t a place for unwarranted advances. Besides, the two bodyguards made it clear she wasn’t soone to casually approach.
“Ms. Gu, your usual spot?” a waitress, rating a solid eight in looks, approached and asked softly Gu Wanyu.
“The usual private room,” confird Gu Wanyu before instructing her bodyguards, “You two don’t need to follow. Charge anything you order to my account.”
“Yes, madam.”
The bodyguards halted, well accustod to the routine. Typically, Gu Wanyu preferred privacy in her private room, while they stood guard outside.
After ushering Gu Wanyu into her regular private room, which was reserved exclusively for her use, the waitress discreetly relayed the information to Bai ixiang via a communicator, “Ms. Gu, whom you told to keep an eye on, has arrived.”
Bai ixiang had just serviced Chen Luo and was now feeling a slight ache in her cheeks.
“What an interesting timing,” she said, glancing up at Chen Luo. “Gu Wanyu visits several tis a month, and it just so happens we’ve caught her today. We can’t let this opportunity slip by.”
“Indeed, we can’t miss it.”
Chen Luo nodded, his smile tinged with nonchalance. Having made up his mind, would Chen Luo let this woman go? Although Li Zhong helped Ye Chen for his daughter’s sake, it annoyed Chen Luo. Thus, giving Li Zhong a taste of what Xiao Yongqiang went through seed only fair.
“I’ll make the arrangents.”
After rinsing her mouth, Bai ixiang had a waiter’s uniform brought over.
“How about approaching her as a waiter? Maybe once she sees you, she’ll be so thrilled she won’t be able to keep her legs together,” Bai ixiang suggested, her laughter tinged with mischief.
“I doubt I have such overwhelming charm.”
“Are you underestimating your own charm? I assure you, any woman’s heart would flutter at the first glimpse of you.”
Chen Luo, whose charm could be said to be at its peak, would dazzle anyone but the most stoic. This was, perhaps, one of his innate advantages. Naturally suited for being a kept man, he wouldn’t have been chosen and noticed by Zhao Xingxuan in the first place otherwise.
Once dressed in the waiter’s uniform, Bai ixiang found her gaze irresistibly drawn to Chen Luo.
“Indeed, a handso man looks charming in any outfit.”
Conversely, no amount of expensive clothing could disguise an unattractive person.
Chen Luo went downstairs, carrying a tray filled with fruits and beverages into the private room Gu Wanyu entered.
“Madam, your drink.”
His voice, deep and magnetic, captured Gu Wanyu’s attention, who had been lost in thought. Upon seeing Chen Luo, a spark of interest lit up her eyes.
“What a handso waiter. How co I’ve never seen him before?”
With features sharp and striking, he could easily outshine even the renowned beauties of ancient lore. Gu Wanyu couldn’t take her eyes off Chen Luo, completely enchanted.
‘This woman is indeed beautiful. How co I didn’t see her during my last visit to the Li family?’ Chen Luo thought, taking her in. She appeared even more alluring than in the photograph he had seen, her black cheongsam adding to her charm. The cheongsam, often a challenge to wear well, seed tailor-made for Gu Wanyu.
“Madam, you seem a bit down. Is everything alright?” Chen Luo asked.
“Yes, I’m feeling a bit blue. Drinking alone lacks appeal, and I haven’t found anyone to join . Would you mind sitting down and sharing a drink?” Gu Wanyu extended a bold invitation to Chen Luo.
‘Tsk, tsk, I haven’t even made my move, and she’s already inviting to drink with her. It seems I’ve really underestimated my own charm,’ Chen Luo mused to himself.
“Do bars here offer companionship services? How about I hire you as my companion for the evening?”
With that, Gu Wanyu pulled out a wad of cash from her purse and, without counting it, placed it on Chen Luo’s tray.
Seeing the money on the tray, Chen Luo mused for a mont. It seed easy for both beautiful won and handso n to make money. He pocketed the cash and then took a seat. The money wasn’t the main concern, seducing Gu Wanyu was. However, Chen Luo felt there was no need for him to initiate anything. The woman’s gaze was already burning with interest.
“Let’s have a drink,” Gu Wanyu said, placing a glass of wine before Chen Luo and gently clinking their glasses together.
“Are you new here? I haven’t seen you before.”
“That’s right, I’m new,” Chen Luo responded, feigning shyness and modesty. True hunters disguise themselves as their prey.
“What’s your monthly salary?”
“Six thousand,” Chen Luo candidly answered, making up the amount on the spot.
Gu Wanyu took a delicate sip of her cocktail and remarked, “That salary doesn’t go far in Magic City. Have you considered changing jobs?”
“I wish I could, but unfortunately, I’m not skilled at much else. I can only work as a waiter here,” Chen Luo said, adopting a self-deprecating deanor.
“I could offer you a job. How about being my driver? I’ll pay you three tis your current salary.”
As she spoke, Gu Wanyu’s hand brushed against Chen Luo’s, a gesture he was quick to notice. Being offered a driver’s job at triple his supposed salary, eighteen thousand in total, felt eerily familiar.
Chen Luo was reminded of Zhao Yingxuan hiring him as a bodyguard. Officially a bodyguard, but in reality, she had ulterior motives. Clearly, this woman was looking to keep him as a kept man.
‘Well, with a face like this, I won’t ever be left starving, no matter my fortunes,’ he thought.
Gu Wanyu was sowhat nervous at the mont. If this man weren’t so strikingly attractive, perfectly aligning with her aesthetic preferences, she wouldn’t even entertain such thoughts.
Indeed, Gu Wanyu was contemplating supporting Chen Luo financially. It seed a waste for such a handso young man to work in a bar. What if another rich woman decided to take him under her wing? She figured it would be better to step in herself.
She had indeed thought it through. After all, she had lived a celibate life for over a decade since her son’s birth, never again sharing her bed with Li Zhong.
They lived separately, and Gu Wanyu, preferring to keep him out of sight and out of mind, moved out and seldom returned. Her marriage to the significantly older Li Zhong was nothing but a strategic alliance. Li Zhong didn’t care for her, and the feeling was mutual. She even resented him, feeling he treated her rely as a children-bearing tool.
She was a normal woman with desires, constrained by her social standing from acting on any inappropriate thoughts, nor did she possess the courage.
However, her lack of courage didn’t an she didn’t think about it. Seeing Chen Luo now, Gu Wanyu felt an urge she hadn’t felt in a long ti. She knew it was wrong, yet she couldn’t stop herself from wondering why she should resign herself to a loveless widowhood for soone she felt nothing for.
But the thought of actually cuckolding Li Zhong made her afraid. If Li Zhong ever found out, not only would she die, but this captivating young man would too.
