Ye Chen glanced back in the direction of Ashen and Ye Ming, and after ensuring they were at a safe distance, he said to Lin Feng:
"Junior, let's begin. I will give you a painless death."
He really felt pity at the thought of fighting Lin Feng.
He hadn't seen soone as talented as him in a long while.
It would have been much better if they had t under different circumstances.
They might have maintained a favorable relationship with each other instead.
Just thinking of having Lin Feng was enough to get him excited.
But alas!
It was not possible.
Lin Feng was destined to die by his hands.
Lin Feng, on the other hand, smirked behind the mask:
"A painless death? Well, it is a tempting offer, but I would like to decline, senior."
His smirk widened further, and he added:
"You see, it might be you who will beg for a painless death."

As soon as he said this, the scarlet lightning circle crackled as lightning flowed into it from Lin Feng's back.
In his mind, he said:
Senior Mao Lang, it's your turn.
Mao Lang's excited voice spoke into his ears:
"Finally! I was tired of waiting!"
It was then that the control of Lin Feng's body began to change, Mao Lang occupying it.
As Lin Feng's control faded away, his voice whispered into Mao Lang's ears:
"I'm sorry, senior... for making you do this..."
At the next mont, Mao Lang was in full control of Lin Feng's body.
A wistful smile appeared on his face as he muttered:
"You brat... there is no need to feel sorry for ..."
Ye Chen also noted the ongoing change in Lin Feng as he felt his heart jumping.
"W-What's going on?" He asked. "What are you doing?"
And as if giving him his answer, a suffocating pressure erupted from Lin Feng's body, lethal enough to kill weak cultivators.
Ye Chen instantly recognized the danger that pressure contained as he moved and blocked it from reaching Ye Ming or Ashen.
However, as he blocked that pressure, he realized the power the pressure contained was greater than his expectations.
He needed to put in more effort than he had expected.
His eyes widened in shock and disbelief.
After he succeeded in blocking the pressure, he looked at Lin Feng with shock-filled eyes, his lips mumbling:
"This pressure... upper-stage emperor realm?..."
"How?" His expression asked this question as he couldn't believe his senses.
Lin Feng had just gone from an interdiate-stage emperor realm cultivator to an upper-stage emperor realm cultivator.
This wasn't normal in any way.
Mao Lang, on the other hand, laughed like a maniac who had just been released from prison:
"Hahaha, Yes! This is it! I can finally experience the joy of battle in a body!"
He opened and closed his fists, staring at his palms in joy.
He felt his control was absolute, and Lin Feng wasn't interfering.
This was the best outco he could've hoped for.
He had been bored just watching Lin Feng fight all this ti.
He could finally let loose, and in front of him was a worthy opponent to use his powers on.
Smiling at Ye Chen, he spoke:
"Hey Junior, let's have a battle!"
"Junior?" Ye Chen couldn't understand the sudden shift in Lin Feng's attitude.
Moreover, why was he calling him "junior" when he was obviously older than him?
Was he missing sothing?
Crackle!
It was then that he saw the scarlet lightning circle behind Mao Lang grow in size and the whips growing in length.
The pressure he emitted was already nacing, and now this increase in strength just confird Ye Chen's doubts.
Was he hiding his true strength?
How can he rise in power this much?
Questions gnawed at his mind; however, before even giving him any ti, the whips moved.
With increased length, the tentacle-like whips struck at Ye Chen, aiming to slice him.
Ye Chen took in a long breath, dark qi spiraling around his body as dark tentacles rose from the ground, moving to strike down the whips.
It was like two tentacled monsters were fighting each other.
One, whose tentacles crackled in scarlet lightning, and the other, whose tentacles were darkness itself, gnawing at the light in the surroundings.
Boom!
The collision between the tentacles gave rise to heavy shockwaves.
These whips and tentacles contained the power of upper-stage emperor realm cultivators.
Their collisions were unlike anything before.

The collisions were continuous; however, the spectators noticed Ye Chen struggling to maintain control against Mao Lang's onslaught.
It was like Mao Lang's whips contained more power, and it was true.
Recognizing that he was weaker in a head-on confrontation, Ye Chen decided to use the strength of the Dark Path.
The dark path was more advantageous in sneak attacks and attacking from different directions.
He instantly vanished into the darkness, the dark tentacles vanishing with him.
Mao Lang looked around, and all he found was silent and eerie darkness.
He noticed that the darkness around him moved, trying to get closer to him from all sides.
Mao Lang understood what Ye Chen was trying to do.
Since Ye Chen could only appear out of darkness, he was trying to move darkness closer to Mao Lang.
Once the darkness was close enough, Ye Chen would appear and finish him with one strike.
"So Devious!" Mao Lang cursed under his breath.
However, soon a smirk occupied his face that was hidden behind the mask.
Mao Lang wasn't like Lin Feng—inexperienced.
He had the battle experience of more than a millennium.
He could boast that he had even seen the Eternal Great Sovereign in his lifeti.
He was ancient, to say the least.
If not for his strength getting decreased with ti, he could have killed Ye Chen with a breath.
He had also gone up against Dark Path cultivators many tis, so he was familiar with their fighting style.
He was from a higher realm after all.
Dark Path might be rare in this lower realm, but in the upper realm, you can find many Dark Path saints to go up against.
