"...What do I do now?" I mumbled to myself.

The vault was silent again.

The kind of silence that made your thoughts sound louder.

Lucas had already left, and Venus was nowhere in sight.

I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to be touching anything anymore, let alone soul-shaking mystery blood.

I paced back and forth for a mont like a total lunatic, trying to calm down. But the longer I stood there, the more I could feel sothing building inside .

Sothing old.

Sothing hungry.

I finally looked around for a plaque or any kind of label.

Nothing.

Not even a floating "danger" sign.

Just that flask, surrounded by a transparent barrier that kept it suspended in midair.

The mont my hand had touched it earlier, sothing inside the blood had...responded. Not with words.

But with feeling.

Raw emotion.

mories that didn’t feel like mine but also did.

And now? Now it felt like the flask was watching .

Or waiting? I didn’t know.

I stepped forward again. This ti, I didn’t touch it—just got close enough to speak to it.

"I don’t know who you belong to... or what you are," I said softly, "but if you’re the reason I’ve felt broken all this ti...then I want answers."

That’s when it hit .

I had always been normal.

No powers.

No magic.

No godly blessing or cool beast friend.

Just...Pixie.

And yet, there were tis when I felt like sothing was wrong with . Like my body was fighting itself.

Like I was born incomplete.

What if this blood...wasn’t just a treasure?

What if it was mine?

I took a shaky breath and reached out again, fingers hovering right above the barrier. But before I could touch it—

"Don’t."

I spun around so fast I nearly fell over.

Venus stood behind , arms crossed and face blank as hell.

My stomach dropped. "I wasn’t going to—well, okay, maybe I was—"

"You were drawn to it. That’s expected," he said, walking toward the pedestal and looking at the flask like it was an old enemy.

"What... what is it?" I asked.

Venus didn’t answer right away. His eyes narrowed slightly, the wrinkles around them deepening.

"That blood," he finally said, "is older than our house’s history. It’s never been claid. No record.

No donor. It simply... exists.

Even the historians can’t agree on where it ca from. So believe it belonged to an ancient demigod. Others think it was left behind by a fallen star."

"That’s... not helpful."

He gave a look that scread ’I’m lying!’

But ok.

My gaze returned to the flask. "Why did it react to , then?"

Venus paused, more serious this ti.

"...That," he said slowly, "is what I’d like to know as well."

I could tell he was studying .

Like I was a puzzle piece that didn’t quite fit anywhere until now.

His eyes weren’t suspicious.

Just...curious.

"I felt sothing," I admitted.

"When I touched the barrier. Like a spark. A mory. But it wasn’t clear."

"Then you’re either its rightful heir..." he said, "or a mistake."

My heart clenched. "Gee, thanks."

He turned to face fully. "Pixie, listen. The fact that you reacted to it at all already ans sothing.

Blood isn’t just a substance in this world—it carries mory, fate, and power.

If this vial truly awakened a response inside you, it may be because your bloodline is still dormant. Unawakened."

My eyes widened. "You an...I’m not powerless?"

"You might not be," he said. "But don’t let hope blind you. There’s a reason I’ve kept this particular item locked away."

"Why?"

"Because anyone who’s tried to rge with it has either died...or gone mad."

Oh.

Okay.

No big deal or anything.

I took a step back. "So... what now?" I asked timidly.

Venus walked toward the pedestal and, with a wave of his hand, closed the glass casing around the flask.

The glowing crimson dimd slightly.

"You won’t be touching it again until I run so tests," he said. "I’ll analyse your mana compatibility. Bloodline structure.

If this really is yours—if this is the key—you’ll need training, control, and a safe environnt before you even think about fusing with it."

"...Training with you?" I asked, raising a brow.

He said wryly. "Why does everyone say that like it’s a punishnt?"

"Because you’re scary."

"Fair enough."

He gestured for to follow him out. I took one last look at the vial.

The red glow pulsed faintly, almost like a heartbeat.

I didn’t know if it was going to be a gift or a curse.

But one thing was for sure—

I wasn’t walking out of this vault the sa girl who walked in.

As we walked back through the winding vault path, I kept glancing at Venus.

"You think I’m weird, don’t you?"

"I think you’re finally interesting."

"That’s either the nicest or rudest thing anyone’s ever said to ."

He chuckled.

When we reached the staircase again, I looked back one last ti.

"Venus?"

"Yes?"

"If that blood does belong to ...and I really do have a power inside ..."

He turned to my figure as I continued.

"Will I still be ?"

He paused. "Only if you want to be."

***

I don’t know what I was expecting when Venus said "tests."

Maybe a magical scan.

Maybe poking my finger and having him stare at the blood under so ancient magnifying crystal.

I wasn’t expecting to lie half-dead on a stone slab in a freezing underground lab while he muttered to himself and hovered with glowing tools.

"This is totally normal," I whispered.

"Not weird at all. Just grandpa science. Very safe."

"Stop talking," Venus muttered without looking up, scaring the shit out of .

"Okay, Grandpa Venus~"
