Chapter 364: Brother? Sister Yudie?
After opening the door and seeing her long-awaited mother, Lin Muxia’s face lit up with excitent. She was about to rush into her mother’s arms for a loving hug, but then she turned and saw Jiang Che, and she was stunned.
Her steps halted, and she stood there, dumbfounded, as if she hadn’t fully processed what was happening.
“What’s wrong? Are you too excited to see ?” Seeing Lin Muxia’s reaction, Wang Yudie asked with a mixture of amusent and confusion.
Lin Muxia didn’t answer her mother’s question. She just stood there, looking bewildered at Jiang Che, her body trembling slightly as mories of that night ca flooding back.
“Miss Lin, we et again.” Jiang Che said with a cheerful smile, appearing sowhat surprised, as if he hadn’t expected Wang Yudie to be related to Lin Muxia.
“What, you two know each other?” Wang Yudie’s gaze shifted between Jiang Che and Lin Muxia, her expression puzzled.
“We do. Miss Lin and I attend the sa school. We t at the freshman welco party.” Jiang Che quickly made up a story, confident that Lin Muxia wouldn’t contradict him.
“In that case, co on in and make yourself at ho.” Wang Yudie smiled even more brightly, pleased with the outco.
She led Jiang Che into the house, but Lin Muxia stood in the doorway, blocking their path.
“What’s wrong?” Wang Yudie frowned slightly, looking at her daughter with concern.
She had noticed Lin Muxia’s unusual behavior since her arrival.
“Nothing…” Lin Muxia took a deep breath, struggling to suppress her anger, and stepped aside to let them in.
Seeing Jiang Che’s smug, challenging smile made her clench her small fists in frustration.
Although she found her daughter’s behavior strange, Wang Yudie didn’t dwell on it. She led Jiang Che into the living room.
They sat down, and she poured him a cup of hot tea, handing it to him with utmost politeness.
“Mom, do you really need to treat him like this!” Lin Muxia’s voice was tinged with jealousy as she watched her mother.
She had never experienced such treatnt from her mother, so why was Jiang Che, of all people, getting it?
“Jiang Che saved my life today. He’s my savior, so of course, I should treat him well.” Wang Yudie replied, looking at Lin Muxia with exasperation.
She couldn’t understand why her daughter seed so hostile towards Jiang Che.
“He saved your life? Did sothing happen today?” Lin Muxia’s expression shifted to one of concern for her mother.
“Yes, I encountered so thugs at the high-speed rail station. Luckily, Jiang Che ca by and saved . Otherwise, you wouldn’t be seeing today.” Wang Yudie said with a touch of lingering fear.
The thought that such criminals existed in bustling Linjiang City was sothing she had never considered.
“Have you eaten yet, little brother? Why don’t you stay for a simple al?” Wang Yudie glanced at Jiang Che, sitting comfortably on the sofa, and suggested.
Judging by his appearance and the luxurious items he wore, she deduced that his family background was far from ordinary.
Even if she wanted to repay him with gifts, they would likely be beneath his notice. Instead of making things awkward, she decided to repay him in a different way.
“No, I haven’t and I’d love to taste Sister Yudie’s cooking. After all, with such a beautiful person, I’m sure your cooking is excellent too.” Jiang Che smiled, his words seeming like flattery but delivered with a sincere tone.
“You have a sweet tongue.” Wang Yudie laughed heartily, clearly pleased by Jiang Che’s complint. No woman disliked being praised, and she was no exception.
“Muxia, entertain Jiang Che while I check what ingredients we have and prepare dinner.” With that, Wang Yudie swayed her hips as she walked towards the kitchen.
Lin Muxia watched her mother leave with a strange expression, then turned to look at Jiang Che sitting on the sofa.
What did she just hear?
Brother? Sister Yudie?
