"When did you get here?"

Cai Qiong looked startled, patting her chest and rolling her eyes at Wang Jian. She had completely forgotten she was changing clothes, her mind having gone blank from the shock.

"You didn't see anything, did you?"

After Cai Qiong asked this, Wang Jian just laughed.

"I hadn't," Wang Jian said, "but now… Hahahaha, your figure is just as beautiful as I imagined."

"Ah?" Cai Qiong paused, only then rembering she was in the middle of changing. She let out another "Ah!", scrambled to get dressed, and didn't forget to snap at Wang Jian, "Aren't you going to turn around?"

Wang Jian just smiled, showing no intention of turning away.

Cai Qiong glared at him but then decided to ignore him. In truth, she wasn't so much afraid of Wang Jian seeing her as she was startled and embarrassed by his sudden intrusion.

During this ti, the secretary knocked on the door again, as her dean had scread for a second ti. Cai Qiong had to take a mont to reassure her secretary before she could finish dressing. She then sat on the sofa, adopting a stern, dean-like deanor as she looked at Wang Jian with feigned composure.

"Did you co here for sothing?"

"Ahem." Wang Jian's face was all smiles. Cai Qiong hadn't bothered to hide while dressing, giving him quite the view. Now, her prim and proper act only made his heart race faster. "Actually, it's nothing major."

Wang Jian sat down across from her, though his eyes couldn't help but wander over her. Images of what he had just seen kept flashing through his mind. "So things have happened recently, so I ca to see you and remind you to be careful."

Cai Qiong laughed. "Oh, is this your way of showing you care?"

Wang Jian nodded without hesitation. "Of course, I care. Otherwise, I wouldn't have co."

Cai Qiong's pretty face flushed slightly. "At least you have so conscience."

"So, what exactly happened?"

"Recently, videos of monsters have been going viral abroad. Have you seen them?" Wang Jian asked.

"Huh?" Cai Qiong had studied abroad and had friends and classmates all over the world, so she was aware of this. Still, she didn't understand. "What about it? I've seen them, and my classmates are all discussing it, but aren't they fake?"

Wang Jian shrugged. "Unfortunately, they're all real."

"You should know I have so special abilities," Wang Jian said. After seeing Cai Qiong nod, he continued, "Those monsters are related to my abilities. The thing is, they are in complete opposition to humans. Either our souls are devoured by them, or we devour theirs."

"What?" Cai Qiong uncrossed her legs and leaned forward. "You're not joking, right?"

Wang Jian shook his head. "I ca here this ti because similar things have been found in the country. The difference is, we have people guarding ours, so they haven't escaped... yet."

"How do you know all this?" Cai Qiong slumped back against the sofa, looking dazed. "Have you already encountered them?"

"Yes," Wang Jian affird. "I encountered one before in a patient who was attacked by one of these creatures. That was my first ti. Then, in a mountain in Shanghai City, we discovered an ancient extraterrestrial object. There's a portal there that connects directly to the world of those monsters. A seal is blocking them for now, but if it loosens or they realize the door can be opened, they will rush over without hesitation."

"So, I ca to see you this ti," Wang Jian said, looking at her, "to give you so ability to protect yourself."

"Self-protection?" Cai Qiong blinked. "Is it that kind of energy Sister Qian once ntioned?"

"Sort of," Wang Jian nodded. "To be precise, it's the Yin Yang energies and the Yang Soul."

With that, he pointed to his own body. "I used the thod of projecting my Yang Soul to co here, which is why I could pass directly through the window."

"Oh, right." Cai Qiong's face turned red as she obviously recalled the earlier incident. "Is it like soul projection?"

"Exactly," Wang Jian said. "The Yang Soul is a concept from our traditional culture that explains soul cultivation. It's recorded in many ancient texts, but none of them are detailed. That's because our ancestors sacrificed their lives to combat these monsters, using their very souls to build a seal that has kept us safe all these years."

"So the records in ancient texts are incomplete because the lineage was broken?" Cai Qiong was a smart woman and understood imdiately.

"That's right," Wang Jian said. "By a stroke of luck, I received the inheritance of our forebears, so I now possess a thod that even ordinary people can use for cultivation. If nothing unexpected happens, this thod will gradually be introduced nationwide."

Cai Qiong understood again. "You ca to give a head start?"

Wang Jian nodded with a smile. "Smart. That's you, all right."

Cai Qiong covered her mouth and giggled. "Well then, does this lady need to undress for you, my lord? I assu you can't impart the technique if I have clothes on, right?"

Wang Jian's face reddened. "What are you thinking? This is supposed to be a serious story. How could we have a scene like that?"

"Pah!" Cai Qiong scoffed. "As if you're ever serious."

"Ahem!" Wang Jian glanced around, looking a bit sheepish. He then sat up straight and said, "I'm being serious now. Pay attention."

After speaking, he moved to sit next to Cai Qiong and touched the center of her forehead with his finger. In an instant, the information about cultivation was transmitted to her.

In just a few breaths, Cai Qiong understood everything. As a highly educated individual, she was fascinated by this novel thod of learning.

"If I had this thod for studying back in my school days," Cai Qiong said, "I would have woken up laughing from my dreams."

Wang Jian rolled his eyes. "In your dreams. Everyone wishes for that."

"Although I've given you the thod," Wang Jian explained, "there isn't enough ti for you to cultivate to the entry level on your own. I still need to help you align your ridians and acupoints so you can feel the existence of energy and the soul ahead of ti."

"Oh?" Cai Qiong asked. "What do I need to do?"

"Um..." Wang Jian glanced at the sofa and gestured. "Just lie face down."

"Huh?" Cai Qiong blinked and glanced at the sofa as well, a blush creeping up her cheeks for reasons she couldn't quite place.

Quicker than words could tell, Cai Qiong stood up, turned her back to Wang Jian, and propped herself up on the sofa, kneeling on the cushions. She then glanced back at him over her shoulder. "Like this?"

"???"

Wang Jian rolled his eyes. He had to admit, he really couldn't handle it when Cai Qiong got playful.

He had to painstakingly explain everything once more before Cai Qiong obediently and properly lay down flat on the sofa. The four-seat sofa was just large enough for her to lie on.

However, as she lay there, just as Wang Jian was preparing to circulate his energy to stimulate her blood flow, he suddenly had a realization.

It seed Cai Qiong was even more charming lying down like this.
