Xu Changqing was currently at a villa located in the suburbs of Capital City.

If soone were fortunate enough to know this address, they would exclaim in surprise, as this place was once a royal retreat for an emperor of a bygone era.

Not long after Xu Changqing made the phone call, a military helicopter landed in the estate’s courtyard. The arrival of the military helicopter, however, did not seem to surprise the manor’s owner. The owner, a man over fifty dressed in a Sun Yat-sen suit, had salt-and-pepper hair but an exceptionally healthy complexion.

Seeing that Xu Changqing was about to leave, he asked, "Lao Xu, in such a hurry to go?"

He had walked Xu Changqing all the way out, a clear sign of their close relationship.

Xu Changqing frowned and sighed. "If I leave any later, I might lose my disciple."

The old man was very surprised. "Is it that young man you took on a few years ago?"

Xu Changqing nodded. "Yes, his family just called ..."

The old man also furrowed his brow. "But isn’t your lineage supposed to be ’Immune to Hundred Diseases’? I’ve always been quite envious of that."

"That’s why I’m so anxious," Xu Changqing said, shaking his head in puzzlent. "He must have encountered sothing even I have never seen. Otherwise, there’s no way he would have his family contact so urgently."

"Go on, then," the old man finally urged, letting Xu Changqing hurry away.

At their age, they were both decisive. Once a reason was made clear, action was a simple matter.

As he watched Xu Changqing board the helicopter, the old man called over a uniford officer.

"Investigate what happened. If help is needed, provide it first and report to later," the old man lanted. "There are fewer and fewer of us old friends left..."

Xu Changqing took the helicopter directly to a military airfield where a private jet was already waiting. It took off the mont he arrived.

He knew this was his old friend’s arrangent.

Ordinarily, he would never have made such a fuss, but the call regarding Wang Jian left him deeply unsettled. At his age, he often had mysterious, gut feelings about things, and experience had taught him not to dismiss them.

Of course, he understood that foolish boy, Wang Jian. This disciple was just like him. Watching the jet take off, Xu Changqing couldn’t help but sigh. Since taking Wang Jian on as a disciple, Xu Changqing had watched his every change and all of his growth. Even when he wasn’t physically with Wang Jian, he always received information about him. He knew his disciple’s temperant was just like his own; he wouldn’t easily talk about his troubles, much less casually ask his master for help. If it weren’t for an insurmountable problem, Wang Jian would never have placed a single call.

He was like other children who go off to school and only call ho when they run out of money, except Wang Jian was the type who would rather get a part-ti job than make that call.

This ti, however, it was Wang Jian’s family who had called.

This was precisely what worried Xu Changqing. In their Qi Cultivation lineage, being "Immune to Hundred Diseases" might sound like an exaggeration, but it was a genuine state of attainnt. Wang Jian had reached it long ago. Otherwise, he couldn’t have spent so long using his Qi to heal people. For him to collapse so suddenly, without even having ti to make a call himself, ant it was definitely not an illness.

Even before arriving, Xu Changqing had already analyzed so of the situation.

The jet was incredibly fast. The journey from Capital City to Shanghai City took only an hour, a flight that would normally take at least three hours on a comrcial plane. After arriving, Xu Changqing transferred to another helicopter. Despite his advanced age and foundation in Qi Cultivation, the continuous transfers left him feeling a sense of fatigue.

The ti was already past one in the morning. When he arrived at the Cai Group’s private hospital, it was just 1:20 AM.

After disembarking, Xu Changqing rushed to the hospital room Xu Qian had told him about. The entire floor had been sealed off by soldiers, with only authorized personnel allowed to enter.

This must be the work of my old brother-in-arms.

Guided by two officers, Xu Changqing finally reached the room. The heart that had been in his throat finally settled.

Inside the hospital room were only a few people. One was Wang Jian’s sister-in-law, whom Xu Changqing had t before. The other was Cai Qiong, whom he had also seen from a distance, so he recognized them both. However, he had never seen the two n before.

These two n were Cai Xing and Cai Wenji. After learning of Wang Jian’s incident from Cai Qiong, they both hurried over from ho. They had only just arrived when they were nearly thrown out by a group of soldiers. This is our second encounter with these military types. Just what kind of influence does Wang Jian have to get them to clear an entire floor just for him? It was only when Xu Changqing arrived that they began to understand that Wang Jian’s master was no simple man.

Xu Changqing paid them no mind. His focus was entirely on Wang Jian, who lay on the hospital bed, hooked up to various monitoring devices.

Upon seeing Xu Changqing’s arrival, both won stood up to greet him.

"What’s his condition?" A clear light flashed in Xu Changqing’s eyes. He could roughly discern Wang Jian’s internal state, but it was certainly not as detailed as what the dical instrunts could show.

At his question, Xu Qian looked to Cai Qiong, who explained, "After Xiao Jian fell unconscious, I had doctors from every departnt in the hospital examine him. They couldn’t find a single thing wrong."

"How did he pass out? Briefly tell what happened." Xu Changqing walked to Wang Jian’s side and took his wrist to check his pulse as he asked.

"To be honest, we don’t really know what happened." Xu Qian took over the explanation. "It was about the patient in the next room. He has late-stage lung cancer, but his condition worsened after taking the Ginseng King. His family ca to our door begging for help. Xiao Jian couldn’t bear to see them suffer, so he agreed to try. But unexpectedly, right after he arrived at the hospital and shut us out of the room, not even two minutes passed before he ran back out with a look of terror on his face. He said one sentence and then collapsed."

"Terrified?" Xu Changqing looked up. "Are you sure it was terror?"

Xu Qian nodded. "Yes. I was too anxious at first to notice. I only realized it when I thought back on it later. Xiao Jian must have encountered sothing that terrified him."

Xu Changqing fell silent, gazing at Wang Jian’s pale face. He couldn’t imagine what could have possibly struck such terror into the boy. Left with no other choice, Xu Changqing prepared to channel his Qi into Wang Jian’s body to investigate his condition. To his astonishnt, the mont he sent his Qi forth, he felt a jolt like an electric shock. His hand was violently repelled, and the force pushed both him and his chair back several inches.

"How could this happen?"

Xu Changqing’s expression changed drastically. His own Qi hadn’t managed to probe Wang Jian’s condition, but the energy that had repelled him was distinctly not the pure Qi of their lineage.

The sensation was like frigid cold wrapped around scorching heat, or perhaps scorching heat wrapped in frigid cold. The two were chaotically mixed together...

Greatly alard, Xu Changqing touched Wang Jian’s arm and torso, confirming his senses had not been mistaken. Wang Jian’s body was now alternating between hot and cold in a bizarre fashion. No wonder his expression is so pained...

Yet, even with this discovery, he still couldn’t determine the reason for Wang Jian’s coma.
