"Don’t move around!"

Wang Jian lifted his head slightly and glared at her. "If they wake up, aren’t you afraid they’ll see us?"

"I don’t care." In the darkness, Ren Yu’s eyes twinkled mischievously. "If they wake up, they wake up."

"What are you..." Wang Jian started to say, but the person in the upper bunk suddenly turned over, startling them both.

Even Ren Yu, who had just spoken so boldly, froze. They were pressed so close together they could hear each other’s breathing. Only after the movent from above ceased did they both let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Seeing that Ren Yu had been scared too, Wang Jian couldn’t help but smile.

"Isn’t it hot being squeezed together like this in the middle of sumr?"

How could it not be hot? The train’s air conditioning was set quite cold, but it was still warm for them, squeezed together under a thin blanket.

"A little," Ren Yu murmured. When she slept alone, her feet were usually ice-cold, but now, pressed against him, she was sweating. Sumr might have been over, but the warm weather lingered.

"If you know it’s hot, why don’t you go back?"

Wang Jian’s voice beca stern, but Ren Yu paid him no mind. "No, I don’t want to," she mumbled coquettishly.

At that, Wang Jian’s stern expression lted into a wry smile.

He had tried to be stern because having soone lie in his arms like this felt improper. Ren Yu’s timid, good-girl image had completely collapsed in his eyes. Of course, he had watched her grow up and knew her inside and out; she only acted this way when she was with him. Still, an issue had been weighing on his mind. He had always thought of Ren Yu as just a sister. But ever since that incident, he’d realized his feelings had changed. Childhood sweethearts... how could pretending to be siblings ever change that?

The two gazed at each other in the darkness. He could see her eyes shimring as if brimming with water.

Twenty was a good age.

As his thoughts ran wild, Ren Yu wasn’t faring much better. The quiet intimacy, their closeness... the mood was perfect. So they fell silent, leaving only the tacit beat of two hearts and the sound of their breathing.

Before he could make another move, Wang Jian heard a rustling from above—the person in the upper bunk had clearly heard them. He heard them turn over, and a mont later, a phone screen cut through the darkness. The person was awake. When the light didn’t dim, Wang Jian knew they weren’t going back to sleep anyti soon. His heart nearly leaped into his throat.

But Ren Yu was completely oblivious. Freed from Wang Jian’s restraint, she grew even bolder with her movents.

Until, at a certain mont, he slipped inside.
