The motion-sensing peripheral for Ring Fit Adventure consists of just an additional fitness ring.
Oh, and a leg strap too.
This doesn't look like a fitness ga that could train your entire body, no matter how you look at it.
Everyone was a bit confused, not sure what Takayuki's idea was.
"I know you're a bit confused about this peripheral right now, but don't worry, I'll demonstrate how this fitness ring should be used," Takayuki said.
He walked to a spacious area, raised his hands, and mimicked the motion of holding the fitness ring with both hands.
"First, one of the detachable controllers we developed earlier will be installed in the ring I'm pretending to hold. Our detachable controllers already have special feedback functions, and through these feedback chanisms, the controller can accurately detect the movents of the fitness ring."
Takayuki mimicked squeezing the fitness ring.
...
...
"This movent can exercise the muscles in your arms. If done correctly, it can also effectively work your shoulder muscles."
Next, Takayuki demonstrated a leg-raising movent.
"With the other detachable controller, I intend to place it on the thigh. The controller will then detect the thigh's movents, enabling high-intensity aerobic exercises."
Takayuki went on to demonstrate the fitness ring exercises he had in mind.
At first, the ga developers were confused, but as they watched, their eyes began to light up. They looked astonished, and finally, they were left with a stunned silence.
"President, we can really do all of this with just this iron ring?" Fuyu Dono asked, incredulously.
He realized he had underestimated the effects of this simple iron ring.
Before Takayuki demonstrated, he couldn't imagine how such a simple ring could provide any real exercise.
But now, after the demonstration, he realized that this iron ring could be used in countless ways, providing a true full-body workout.
While it might not compare to professional gym equipnt, it was undoubtedly an excellent way for beginners to get into fitness.
Just thinking about it sounded pretty interesting.
After demonstrating several exercises, Takayuki started to catch his breath. He sighed inwardly, realizing that he had beco too accustod to luxury. Even this small amount of exercise had him panting. It seed he would need to exercise more regularly.
Takayuki nodded at Fuyu Dono and said, "That's right. I'm just combining so of the exercises I can think of with this fitness ring. But I believe there are many other directions this fitness ring can go."
Later, Takayuki recalled that the fitness ring had even evolved into a rhythm ga, allowing people to exercise while playing along with music beats.
"So, what do you think? Do you have the confidence to develop this?" Takayuki asked.
"Yes, absolutely!" Fuyu Dono was becoming increasingly excited.
He was always fond of exploring new technologies.
And this was a great opportunity to explore new tech—he wasn't about to miss it.
Takayuki turned to Airi and said, "Airi, your engineering team will need to collaborate as well. The creation of this fitness ring won't be sothing Fuyu Dono's team can handle alone. You'll need to help out too."
Airi, standing beside him, was lost in thought.
She began imagining how much this fitness ring could help her with her slight extra weight.
It sounded a lot more fun than practicing kendo in her ho dojo.
Hearing Takayuki's words, she quickly ca to her senses and said, "No problem, I'll fully support this."
"Good. Let's get to work. We need to develop this ga in the shortest ti possible and show them what benefits video gas can bring."
"Understood!"
Everyone stood up, visibly excited.
They had been so frustrated by those reporters earlier.
The video gas they had worked so hard to create were being belittled, yet they had no real way to refute the criticisms.
This was their chance to prove themselves.
After assigning the tasks, Takayuki's thoughts turned to other matters.
Just trying to shut those people up with Ring Fit Adventure wouldn't make much sense.
Unity was what mattered most.
So, who should they unite with?
Of course, it was the people in the video ga industry.
And besides them, so other well-known public figures—people who could stand by their side and support them.
How should they go about it? And which public figures should they approach?
The best way to attack an academic critic was to hit them with their own expertise.
While Takayuki wasn't interested in social sciences—he didn't know or care much about issues like animal protection and human rights—that didn't an he couldn't deal with these people.
The best strategy would be to get their rivals—their opponents—and sponsor them, turning them into weapons in his hands.
Takayuki had already made up his mind.
But this would be a long-term battle. There was no rush.
...
Ti passed quietly. After the sociologist nad Gene made his negative comnts about video gas, a group of people—animal protection organizations, human rights groups, feminist groups—joined in, all denouncing the harms they believed video gas caused.
It seed like video gas were being painted as evil, worse than illicit products.
Many ga companies, unable to withstand the pressure, caved in.
They weren't all as confident as Gastar Electronic Entertainnt.
Behind these companies, there were people with social standing who didn't want their investnts to face bad press.
Since these people were attacking the negative effects of video gas, they thought it would be better to just give in.
Making money wasn't shaful, after all. What mattered was earning more money while keeping a good reputation.
So, in a very short ti, things like hunting animals, overly attractive characters, and so violent content were all cut from gas.
When these groups saw how easily the ga companies were giving in, they beca more demanding.
They began questioning whether the rating system, set up by Gastar Electronic Entertainnt, was even appropriate.
They argued that even a little bit of blood should push the ga rating to 16 .
This led to a backlash from the ga developers, but the critics weren't backing down. Both sides were locked in a deadlock.
And for the gaming industry, this was more harmful than helpful.
The loudest voices could easily sway public sentint.
And soon, people started to develop a distaste for video gas.
