When Dragon Quest III was released, he bought another limited edition Zelda Legend console that ca bundled exclusively with it.
Buying that limited edition console qualified him to skip the queue for any future ga pre-orders.
This way, he could get Dragon Quest III right away.
After getting Dragon Quest III, he couldn't wait to rush back to his apartnt with the cartridge. He even took a week off work specifically to play gas.
Being an expatriate had its perks, such as easily getting ti off, and the people at the Japanese branch didn't dare say much. His work itself wasn't particularly affected either, so they just let Wilson do as he pleased.
For a week, he completely imrsed himself in the world of Dragon Quest.
The overall length of this story segnt was only about ten hours, and if played slowly, it would take around twenty hours at most. This was much shorter than the gaplay of Dragon Quest II in his previous life, and it was intentional.
The story itself was a continuation of the first part, with so innovations but not as astonishing as the third part.
From the start, Takayuki went all out to make Dragon Quest III.
And this ti, the overall capacity of Dragon Quest reached another peak, also reaching the ultimate limit of the Famicom's capacity, close to 400KB cartridge capacity.
The ga started with the title: Part: Descendants of the Heroes.
Wilson controlled the descendants of three heroes, experiencing a thrilling story and eventually facing the final boss, the Great High Priest.
However, after defeating the Great High Priest, it was discovered that the final boss wasn't him. The Great High Priest sacrificed himself with all his might, summoning the true mastermind behind the scenes.
It was Zid, the god of destruction from ancient tis.
Zid possessed the most powerful power in the world at that ti. Perhaps only soone of the Roto bloodline could truly defeat the god of destruction.
And the three protagonists happened to be descendants of the Roto bloodline. Feeling threatened, the god of destruction imdiately tried to eliminate the three descendants of Roto to eradicate the threat.
However, at this mont, a temporal tunnel suddenly appeared in front of the three heroes, and a hero holding a sword and shield walked out of it.
Mysterious person: "Children, let's defeat the god of destruction together and restore peace to this world completely!"
The descendants of the three heroes seed shocked.
"Who are you?"
"? Hehe, I'm Roto, your ancestor!"
The three heroes were instantly stunned.
And at this mont, the screen darkened, and a new ssage appeared.
Part: 0
When the screen brightened again, Wilson found that the god of destruction was gone, and the screen showed an ordinary cottage, inside of which was a person who looked very recognizable from the outside.
It was Roto, the hero who had just appeared from the temporal tunnel!
Wilson was thrilled.
Temporal travel, heroes from the past coming to the future to fight alongside their descendants, this story could be made into a movie.
But this story was not over yet.
The subtitle that appeared on the screen earlier, PART: 0, seed to indicate that now was the official Chapter of the ga, and the previous part could only be considered a prelude.
A prelude across ti and space.
So this was just the beginning! How exciting! He could personally experience the story of the hero ancestor Roto, which was a love letter to Dragon Quest fans who had been eagerly waiting to know the true story of the hero Roto.
And Gastar Electronic Entertainnt really responded to the players' demands and made the story.
And the story wasn't just about rging the two stories forcibly; it added so more interesting elents, such as ti travel, allowing heroes from the past to fight alongside the heroes of the present, elevating the story to a whole new level.
The ending of this Dragon Quest story was slightly modified by Takayuki to better connect the two stories that should have been two parts.
If only the two stories were forcefully rged, the seam would be too obvious.
As a ga producer who pursued excellence, Takayuki was naturally not satisfied with such a simple forced integration.
So he decided to change so of the Dragon Quest storylines.
Of course, the main storyline remained unchanged.
Roto defeated the Dragon King, and the descendants of the three heroes defeated the god of destruction, only the final thod of defeating them changed slightly.
"Hey, kid, it's ti to wake up. Today is the ti to et His Majesty."
In the scene, a motherly character walked up to the protagonist and woke him up.
At this mont, a prompt appeared.
"Please give your hero a na."
Wilson was startled. Could he also na the hero in Dragon Quest this ti?
But... wasn't this Roto? If he gave him another na, wouldn't it be not Roto anymore?
Forget it, never mind those, let's give myself a na first.
Just call it... Wilson!
Yes, my own na, now I'm the hero!
Wilson smiled and plunged back into the ga.
But at this mont, his phone rang.
He didn't want to answer it.
But the phone kept ringing incessantly. It seed that every ti the call failed, the other party would imdiately redial, never stopping.
He could only helplessly pause the ga for the ti being, then pick up the phone and check. It turned out to be a call from ho in the United States.
Wilson had to answer.
"Hello? Honey?"
"Hi! Daddy! Daddy!"
On the other end of the phone, a childish voice rang out.
Wilson's eyes narrowed and his mouth couldn't help but curve up, showing a doting expression.
"Little Betty, my good daughter!"
"Daddy! Daddy! When are you coming back?"
On the other end of the phone, Little Betty asked one word at a ti.
"Oh, oh, I'll be back soon, in about two or three months."
To be honest, Wilson was a bit reluctant to go back to the United States now.
In Japan, he could play Famicom gas right away, but if he went back, he wouldn't be able to play anything.
Even if he really wanted to play, he could only ask soone to mail the gas over, and the waiting ti in between would surely be very long.
It was a pity. Wouldn't it be great if this kind of ga console could be released in the United States?
If this thing were released in the United States, it would definitely be very popular.
But he could only think about it.
"Then daddy rember to bring gifts! Otherwise, mommy won't agree to let you co back!"
"Gifts?"
Wilson couldn't help but look at the ga console in front of the TV.
"Don't worry, daughter, I'll definitely bring you a gift that will satisfy you!"
He could already imagine his daughter's excitent after seeing this brand new electronic product and playing with it.
As his own daughter, she must have the sa hobbies as him.
