"Kid… are you even human?"

Zhu ng stared at Zhou Haoyu—who remained eerily calm in the face of catastrophe—and finally surrendered inwardly.

"This Undead Monarch is only the beginning. No one knows what cos next. The only logical response is evacuation," Zhou Haoyu said again.

If he could save the millions of citizens of the ancient capital, he would be seen as its greatest benefactor. Even if Mu He's identity was exposed later, that reputation would shield the Mu Family from becoming public enemies.

As for assassinating Mu He?

He'd considered it—but it wasn't realistic. He didn't know Mu He's whereabouts and careless action could cause bigger trouble.

Besides, there was one advantage to letting Mu He's identity be exposed.

It would force the Mu Family to sever ties with the Mu Clan.

Only then could the Zhou Family openly bring the Mu Family into their fold.

"Evacuation it is…" Zhu ng hesitated slightly—but chose to trust Zhou Haoyu.

If the wall fell, the outer city would beco a living hell.

"I'll trust you this once."

Zhu ng gave Zhou Haoyu a deep look and went upstairs—to contact Han Ji about the evacuation order.

Zhou Haoyu silently watched the pitch-black wilderness, hoping Han Ji would agree.

Four or five minutes later Zhu ng returned, face grim.

Zhou Haoyu's heart sank. Did they refuse?

The undead army would arrive in half a day. Any delay now would be fatal.

"Undead are gathering at every gate. But Chairman Han Ji has agreed to begin evacuation," Zhu ng finally said.

Zhou Haoyu let out a long breath. "Once the civilians are evacuated, we can fight without restraint."

"True. I'm planning to lead a strike team and kill that Phantom Tyrant first. Maybe we can crush the crisis at the very beginning."

Zhu ng's eyes blazed with a fearless fighting spirit.

Zhou Haoyu secretly shook his head. Honestly, Zhu ng belonged on the front lines as a military mage—not as a politician.

Very soon, Zhu ng was coordinating with Commander Lu Xu, Chief Instructor Fei Jiao, and even Hunter King Du Xiao to begin a proactive strike team.

So staff officers objected, but Zhu ng—always a hothead—ignored them and insisted.

"It'll be a tough fight... Fighting alone could get dangerous. Want to assign you to a squad?" Zhu ng asked Zhou Haoyu.

His identity was special—not just Pang Lai's disciple but also captain of the current National Team. If sothing happened to him, it would be a trendous loss for China.

"No need. I don't like taking orders. Besides… most people will only get in my way," Zhou Haoyu declined decisively.

Zhu ng raised an eyebrow—this kid was insanely arrogant!

But I like it.

After a brief morale-boosting speech, Zhu ng, Lu Xu, Fei Jiao and Hunter King Du Xiao led their strike team out of the northern gate.

They were all Super-Tier mages—and with Zhu ng's thunder-fire supre power, they were more than capable of tackling the Phantom Tyrant… even if it would cost them.

Nurous strike teams also set out around the city.

Zhou Haoyu followed behind one squad, but once far enough outside the gate—he veered off…

Riding his Fla Scorpion Tiger, he charged alone in a completely different direction.

In this wasteland littered with rotting corpses, the Fla Scorpion Tiger was like a bulldozer—ripping or burning through all Servant-level undead in its path.

"Whose Summoned Beast is that?! It's a monster!" a battalion commander blurted in amazent.

Everyone nearby was shocked. They had no idea there was a High-Tier Summoner among them.

Zhou Haoyu tore straight into undead ranks—four silver flying swords slashing around him. Each strike shattered multiple undead cores.

The simplest way to kill the undead—

Destroy their soul-cores.

Even if you smashed their heads... without destroying the core, they wouldn't die.

He did not go too deep, always keeping a safe distance from the Phantom Tyrant.

Although rely a lesser Monarch, with a full-force strike even Super-Tier mages would struggle to survive.

Even with defensive armants, Zhou Haoyu wasn't eager to tank that.

After sprinting forward for a while, Zhou Haoyu directly summoned Jiang Feng.

The instant she appeared, a hundred ters around them lit up as though dawn had broken. The night's chill was swept away in a wave of scorching heat.

Jiang Feng wielded her Tribulation Flas with effortless mastery—one sweep of the arm summoned torrents of fire from the air above, turning the undead army below into a blazing inferno.

Up ahead, Zhu ng's party caught sight of the spectacle and all slowed subconsciously.

"Du Xiao, besides you—is there another Super-Tier Summoner stationed in this city?" asked Chief Instructor Fei Jiao, astonished.

The Hunter King, Du Xiao, shook his head. He had no idea there was another Summoner of this calibre in the capital.

But judging by that fla female's rank, the summoner controlling her was likely even stronger than him…

"Forget that—focus on killing the Phantom Tyrant first!" Zhu ng roared.

Du Xiao, Fei Jiao, and Lu Xu nodded sharply. Among them, Zhu ng was clearly the core of this operation.

After all, as a dual Thunder-Fire mage with two Transcendental powers, Zhu ng's output was at the upper-middle tier even among Super Mages.

On Zhou Haoyu's side, Jiang Feng rampaged like a Fla Goddess among the undead army, while Zhou Haoyu worked calmly behind her—scooping up essence orbs and fragnts like crazy.

"With what she's collected so far, I've already gathered thirty-three Servant-class essences—just nine more and I can unlock Thunderbolt – Level 4."

Jiang Feng had already burned through over a thousand undead, including three Commander-level!

Beyond the servant essences he had also gotten four Warrior-level essences and three Commander-level fragnts.

Seeing the undead thinning out ahead, Zhou Haoyu called,

"Jiang Feng, go assist them with the Phantom Tyrant."

Without help, Zhu ng's squad would certainly pay a bloody price to kill it—but with Jiang Feng added in, they should settle it safely.

Zhou Haoyu didn't rest—he continued harvesting the remaining undead, determined to collect all forty-two essences before returning to the city.

He had already strengthened seven stars, forty-two more and he could unleash Thunderbolt: Level 4.

Behind him, the trailing mage teams—hunters, soldiers, student mages—

…all stared dumbly at Zhou Haoyu's back.

Was there really any need for them to have co out here at all…?

He had already done everything.

What were they even here for?
