The entirety of the night was peaceful and the junk beasts were nowhere to be found. It was more or less a normal night in Agartha for once and although I only rested and took a light nap, it was a peaceful one and I managed to continue my rest from where I left off before.
I woke up to a brand new day. Although the sky of Agartha never changes since we are underground and there is no fake sky we can use to tell what ti is it, I still managed to learn that it is already morning on the surface by seeing the establishnts shut their lights despite being still under "night ti."
After preparing, I left the hotel and resud my journey. And this ti, we are now hunting for the Rhongomyniad. I am not fully familiar with the Rhongomyniad aside from the fact that it was one of the weapons that King Arthur wielded in his life. However, it was said that he didn’t wield the spear for long due to how powerful the spear was to the point that using it was enough for him to destroy the world if he needed it.
And the fact that what he wielded was a replica of the real thing ans that the real thing was more dangerous than it should have been.
"So, got any clues where to find the Rhongomyniad?" I asked Shadow Dragon.
"Nope. I am not too familiar with the weapon in question which is a bit sad but it is the truth and I have no idea how to find it other than getting to know it existed here in Agartha sowhere. Since it was a weapon classified as a divine one, perhaps it would be in a similar place like the Excalibur then?"
"That may be true. We should check out these places and see if they house the weapon. Tell if there are any areas with strong fluctuations of power so that we can use that to locate the weapon faster."
Using the trike, we started to cruise once more to the empty streets of Agartha, and with the senses of the shadow dragon, we visited one place after another to look for the traces of the Rhongomyniad.
As we continued to move around the Agartha, I just fully realized that the Agartha was much bigger than I imagined. It’s like a galopolis except that it is not like that due to how empty it is. Everywhere I look, ruins everywhere. It is to the point that I am feeling a little gloomy now while watching the scenery. Perhaps if the zombie apocalypse happened and I am one of the lucky ones who will survive and live through the post-apocalypse, this might be what I might feel in the process.
"Wielder, I just noticed this just now but the farther we go in this place, the lesser enemies we find. Isn’t it kinda strange? And most of these few enemies we see are those big ones and they are not even hostile and more actively avoiding us. Do you think there is so sort of connection in any way here?" the shadow dragon pondered.
"Yeah, I also noticed that since earlier. I am just not sure about it but after you ntioned it, then yeah, I can also see so sort of anomaly in the works here."
There are only two things the Junk denizens actively avoid the area based on how they move around and one of them is if the territorial monsters are present and they kill and attack anyone or anything that doesn’t belong to their territory. I saw that personally with the stinky monster so it is clear it does happen. And as for the second reason is due to sothing that makes the monsters afraid of it, naly, the relics or the weapons that can potentially harm or kill them.
Based on my observations in this area so far, the big monsters are not territorial and they are more shy than most smaller monsters I encountered so far. And the fact that they are bigger than them and yet they are not trying to kill already speaks volus.
Anyways, I doubt the first reason why there are fewer monsters around is plausible right now which ans the second reason has more chance of being the main reason why this place is deserted.
While I was trying to see which areas should be a good place to proceed from and the Shadow Dragon was currently busy detecting and tracking any sort of energies, we felt strong vibrations on the ground like there was an earthquake, however, it was followed by multiple explosions and more sounds that are all happening so fast so I imdiately ready the Devourer as I maneuver the trike to the location of those explosions.
As we got closer to the location, the stronger the explosions beca and soon it didn’t take us long to reach the area where the explosions happened which then revealed why there were those tremors and so sort of noises, it was the effect of the battle of two people, fighting against a monster that is striking similar to the stinky monster I was fighting before but with so bizarre tendrils attacking everywhere.
"There are people here?!" I wasn’t expecting to see people in here since there are no signs of life aside from the monsters present here so seeing humans currently fighting a monster with magic, I was totally surprised. However, that surprise turned into confusion when I realized that I knew who these people currently fighting against the monster.
It was rlin and the Lady of the Lake who currently wields multiple weapons in their arsenal. She even fired multiple lances behind her back and seed to be damaging the monster pretty badly while standing behind rlin who is wielding a replica of the Excalibur and is using his staff to fight long range and the Excalibur in lee range.
"It’s rlin and the Lady of the Lake."
As soon as I ntioned the na rlin, a crack appeared beside and I retreated as the crack continued to expand until Cath Palug appeared and jumped off from the crack.
"Ha! Yes! F*ck that barrier, I finally succeeded to go out!"
"Cath Palug?" I frowned as the beast shook off his body from dust.
"Oh, you are still alive? I thought you died since the summon’s area’s portal can’t open at all so I forced my way out of it by tearing it open. But it took a lot of my power to just tear it open, damnable curse this is."
"Barrier? What are you talking about?" I frowned.
"Dumb*ss, it seems you didn’t notice that your summon’s area entryway is not functioning well. All of us who are inside are trapped due to how the barrier prevents any sort of interaction from you nor we can even get out of there on our own. If not for forcing myself out of the portal, then the portal will remain useless.
I was speechless. How did I not realize that the summon’s area is not working? No wonder Tina and Atlas are not talking at all nor even Cath Palug exclaims or help during any battles before. Is it due to the effects of the Agartha? Perhaps it is, but I don’t know about it right now. All I know is that with Cath Palug, destroying the barrier blocking the summon’s area portal, my pets and my other companions can also help out.
Then, I heard a howl and when I looked in that direction, I saw the monster that was fighting the two earlier had finally fallen as one final blow with the Excalibur replica penetrated the body of the monster and effectively killing it in the process.
With that, rlin took notice of us, perhaps due to the presence of Cath Palug who appeared from destroying the barrier slightly.
"Mr. Bladeheart? And the Cath Palug as well. How co you all are here? There shouldn’t be any humans capable of traversing this place at all," rlin frowned as he approached us. The Lady of the Lake followed rlin behind.
"Greetings to the two esteed masters, I managed to gain entry after satisfying the requirents to bypass the barrier in this place and get myself an entry to this world."
"Soone was worthy enough to bypass the barrier without any sort of help?" the Lady of the Lake was surprised by the revelation.
"I didn’t know this matter as well and just recently know this one. But who would have thought it would be you, Sir Bladeheart," rlin said as his eyes landed on Cath Palug who then hissed in anger at him.
His eyes wandered straight to the Devourer and his eyebrows frowned.
"Wait, how co? That weapon you are holding, that is the sa weapon you have shown to before right?"
"Huh? Yeah?" I frowned when rlin suddenly got worked up.
"If that is the case, how co I am detecting the Excalibur’s aura on that weapon?"
