* Hii... happy new year? Not sure if I wished y’all. Also, I had a busy week and failed to update, so here’s a double update!

[TAMIKO]

Watching Ashton and Gabe fight should have been thrilling for the young Lycan, but instead, he watched them with a bored face, like he had other things to do, other places to be and maybe he was right.

He did have other places to be. He was staring at them while his mind was plagued with thoughts of Kosta. Tamiko may have shown a brave face when Kosta left earlier, but he knew what he had done wasn’t pleasing at all.

The Lycan chief had been kind to him, nice to him, a good Erasthai to him regardless of everything. Kosta hadn’t treated him differently and yet even with all that, Tamiko had failed the bare minimum.

"Kill each other and get it all over with!" Tamiko shouted angrily when he noticed the father and son weren’t doing much. Maybe they were but as soone who what Lycan fights looked like, this was just sparring to him.

"You have five minutes or I will kill the both of you," Tamiko said, his impatience so obvious.

He was done being nice. He was done holding onto hope that maybe, maybe if he put the father against the son, everything would be better. Having them confirm what he knew all along fucked him up.

Finding out that he was the dark king’s son and even that his mother was the greatest queen of hearts was breaking him. He hadn’t t Liana, but he had t her in the books and she was deed the greatest queen to ever walk the realm.

She had to be that good if almost thirty years after her passing, people still told tales of her with love and respect, and it wasn’t because Zaffuto had commanded it. What the hell was he supposed to do about the new reality?

Now that he thought about everything, Lord Sadako had seed shocked the first ti they t, and he had been nice to him from the onset. Maybe it was because he bore a resemblance to his father or the queen?

Tamiko didn’t know. He always hated what he looked like for years and the fact that he was finding out he was never alone, was ssing him up big ti. He needed a breather; he needed a break and he needed to face his fears.

"I’m sorry, father," Gabe said, his ears making a show as he found his hand in his father’s chest. That in itself got Tamiko out of the misty thoughts he was having, back to what I had been doing.

He had told them to fight to kill each other... Well, he did insist barely a few minutes ago, but he couldn’t believe these idiots took it literally.

"What the hell are you doing, Grealor?" Tamiko said to Gabriel who was staring at him angrily.

"You wanted us to kill each other. You knew I was always going to be stronger than my father because he is older and I am younger and faster. You knew that before you put us up, so why do you ask? Did this have so redemption arc for you?

"Is that what you’re getting to?’’ Gabe asked angrily, his hand clenching around his father’s heart, gently squeezing it as he looked into Tamiko’s eyes, the anger in them reminding him that maybe he had been mated to a beast all this ti.

Even if that were true, weren’t they the ones who had poked the beast where he was sleeping silently?

"Oh please. What do you want to do for you then? Cry because you are killing your father? Or laugh because I am finally seeing you in pain? Or what?

"Do you want to stare in shock like your wolves who can’t seem to wrap their heads around the fact that their current alpha is about to kill his father and that too by the command of a mate he can’t even reject?

"Spare your theatrics, Gabriel. I don’t give a shit," Tamiko said as he stared at the young Alpha.

He could feel Gabriel’s pain in the link they shared. He could feel the young alpha’s shattering one too many tis. He could feel how hopeful Gabriel was that Tamiko would show them rcy.

All these feelings should have made Tamiko feel like a god and yet as he looked at Ashton, Tamiko couldn’t help but wonder how he had been brought to Grealor.

In all the books he had read, none of them spoke of who had dared to attack the Lycan kingdom. The books only spoke of attacks and the loss of the queen and the heir, but Tamiko had more questions. Soone wasn’t telling the truth and he would find it out.

"How does it feel, knowing you’re the very reason your father is turning purple right now? Does it make you feel powerful? Stronger? Do you think you have finally made it to the side of the world that needs no salvation?

"Co on, Gabriel. Get it over with. Feel the blood rushing, feel his desperation, and the desire to breathe. Feel his helplessness and relish it. Because if you don’t, I could as well make you the oga you were barely minutes ago.

"If anything, you look more interesting as a flower baby than an alpha. But hey, goad , keep at it and maybe you might really be on your knees begging for a release from the humans," Tamiko said spitefully.

He loved how helpless they were and frankly, it didn’t make him feel powerful. It made him want to hurt them even more. There was so much that he could do to them, but the night was coming and he needed to find Kosta.

He had always promised himself not to sleep angry with Kosta and he was going to make sure he didn’t break that promise today.

"What do you really want, Tamiko? Is it Grealor itself? The power?’’ Gabe asked as he released his hand from his father’s chest. He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t kill his father. Maybe if he knew what Tamiko wanted, they would co to an agreent, right?

"Nice try, Gabriel. If you don’t kill your father, I will kill you, or him. It doesn’t really matter to anyway, given the both of you are Grealors. Choose wisely, young Grealor," Tamiko said but Gabe wasn’t giving up anyti soon.

He needed to know why Tamiko was doing this. He couldn’t understand shit and maybe if Tamiko explained it would be easier for Gabe to give him what he actually wanted instead of the gas, right?

"Why are you so pressed? What do you want or you are just having your fan taunting us like this? Is that what you want to know? You knew your lineage and suddenly you’re all dark like your father?" Gabe taunted.

Tamiko stared at Gabriel Grealor, the rage in his eyes so evident as he looked at the man who dared to throw around those little facts aimlessly when he had let him believe for years that he was the outcast.

Gabe had fucked with him more than once and now here he was doing it again.

"Y’know, I am my father’s son. Your ti is up, little Grealor. And since you won’t kill your father, you leave no option," Tamiko said coldly, before he whipped out his sword, looked at Alpha Ashton, and then swung at the alpha.
