[TAMIKO]
"Also, the one who is telling you that your oga hasn’t had a heat in twelve years, which is very dangerous for him. He’s been too busy fighting demons to even focus on himself, and if this continues for another year, he will drop dead," Yilena said.
And Tamiko, who had been rolling his eyes at her the entire ti she was responding, stiffened.
Hell, even Danny, who was watching them both, seed to pause.
Then again, that wasn’t the kind of thing that anyone played around with, or even just dropped mid-conversation for the sake of it all. It was sensitive as hell, and for her to be saying it so casually, it had to an sothing else.
But at the sa ti, Tamiko had gotten to interact so many tis with Yilena over the past year, and he knew when the woman was playing gas and when she wasn’t.
Right now, it didn’t seem like it.
If anything, he could tell that she was being sincere with them. Like she had always been since the day that changed all their lives.
Now, there was a solemn truth standing there for Tamiko to choose what to do with it. It was as if he was being handed candy, but the kind that had so many risks, though this was the kind that Tamiko wouldn’t mind going around or finding ways to keep protected.
But did Kosta need his protection this ti?
Did Kosta even want to be close to him this ti? There were still so many unresolved bits of their lives, and they had to work around them first.
"But Sanji..." Tamiko trailed off, dropping that na for the first ti in one year. It was forbidden, even though no one had really said that loudly, but then it wasn’t hard to tell. They had suffered enough in the man’s hands and his companions.
When Tamiko had learned the truth of the curse and its link to the damned ultimatum, the young prince had been so conflicted, confused, and angry.
It was like he was being introduced to the worst of things that he had no defense for, and that his Erasthai had to endure on his own.
It was the cruelest thing that he had ever had to deal with, and Tamiko almost pulled Sanji’s soul from the afterlife just to tornt the man himself.
Of course, a part of Tamiko wondered where the line between good and bad lay. Where the limits between hell and heaven were, because there was just no way a man went out of his way to make sure, they were dood in love.
But then what the fuck was he to expect from a man who had been proven to be a traitor to the kingdom, not just once upon a ti, but as frequently that the king considered slapping his head off a thousand and one tis in the past fourteen years.
"Oh, please. As if you don’t know your Erasthai by now. You two are impossible. Besides, Konstantin would choose death a thousand tis over being touched by soone who isn’t you, Kaito.
"So, you can either go to him or bring him back ho... if he isn’t already in heat alone in the wild anyway. All I’m saying is, he slowly stopped buying suppressants from the markets a month ago.
"I don’t know if the kid is crazy, or if this is his way of rebelling, but what we know is that his heat is due any mont now. And it will hit him the hardest one way, especially without the suppressant or you to help him through it all."
Yilena explained calmly as if she was trying to let Tamiko see sense.
Tamiko wasn’t sure if he was supposed to be happy or sad that his Erasthai was off suppressants.
However, one thing he was sure of was that ti was up.
There was no need for that space between them anymore.
They had each other’s Erasthai mark on their necks. They were still linked, not to ntion, none of them rejected the other in any way.
Maybe it really was ti to pull all the stops.
But then, after everything Kosta endured... After everything Kosta had learned about the outco of his guardian’s apparent death, would he be willing to put aside his barbarian gear and co back ho to be Tamiko’s beloved?
Would he trust that love was on their side this ti, when he hadn’t co back ho despite the king sending him ssages via the mind link on the progress of Yilena’s recovery and how Tamiko was doing every week?
It was a long stretch for the king, though it was sothing that Zaffuto did voluntarily. Anyone would think that the king was having a lot of fun out here being like that.
Perhaps that was the truth that they needed to embrace.
The fact that even the king had beco so understanding made it hard to tell if they wanted to strangle the man or hug the man.
"Well, shit... Looks like I have to prepare the place for the probable stench of sex," Danny teased.
Tamiko blushed.
The Lycan prince actually got red in the cheeks, much to Danny’s complete and utter horror. He knew his brother was always down for Kosta, but the idea of...
Oh, he couldn’t even form a coherent thought with him anymore.
So, Danny just grabbed the nearest throw pillow and smacked Tamiko’s chest with it as if to snap his brother from whatever was going on in his head. But all that was pointless because Tamiko had made up his mind.
He was going to get his Erasthai back.
"I should ask Papa how many grandkids he wants. Maybe that will give a better estimate... what do you guys think?" Tamiko asked much to the dismay of the duo in the room.
Tamiko wasn’t sure what he needed to do for the first ti in a long ti.
He knew where his Erasthai was, but to just walk to Kosta when he knew there was the risk of another heartbreak scared him.
He had tried to call Kosta back that day, but he never got anything in return. His Erasthai acknowledged him, but that was all. Tamiko. Of course, he took comfort in the fact that at least Kosta didn’t look at him as a prince but as an Erasthai.
However, it didn’t make the longing disappear.
It didn’t make the desperation grow any less.
It hurt, and it was the sweet yet agonizing kind. One that was threatening to loom, especially now that Yilena had pointed out that Kosta was probably going to go into heat soon.
Tamiko felt like a dick for thinking of going to him now.
But then he had to.
He couldn’t let him suffer through this on his own.
Besides, he’d been away from ho for too long already, right?
Perhaps that was why when Yilena and Danny left, Tamiko went to see his father, who he was sure was with his uncle. Those two were always up to sothing together.
And when he found them bickering over chess, again, Tamiko wasn’t surprised.
"The entire realm shits itself at the ntion of both your nas, and you guys are bickering over a chess marathon you’ve been on for the past three days?
"Are you guys sure the lack of sleep didn’t play a part in the madness you both are reeling in now?" Tamiko asked, like he were the responsible adult of the three of them.
