[ZAFFUTO]

"Kill them all!!!!" Lord Sadako encouraged as he fought the warriors, too. And soon enough, the battlefield was filled with chaos.

The barbarians followed their leader like it were their best trait. They ruined everyone, like Kosta had trained them into the worst of the worst.

The warlords who had been thrust into a Lycan council, led by Floki, unleashed their rage too.

Everyone was ruining, and ruining, and ruining.

The stench of death was all over, and it didn’t matter that the moon was shining so bright in the night. It was almost ironic how shit had beco, but no one cared about the good and the bad.

On this battlefield, there were only two sets of people: the Kawai Lycans and the prey that they were to eliminate. They were doing a good job because the Grealor numbers were dwindling. Fast.

The Grealor team that had been at five thousand when they invaded, was now close to being slashed in half. The deaths were the worst, but that did not matter to the Lycans.

Their goal was to eliminate them all. None of them was to leave this place alive. The only reason they didn’t kill Gabe too, was because Danny had the chance and he had stepped aside.

And if Gabriel wasn’t Danny’s to kill, then the warriors had no chance at that. And they had learned so well that it was a beautiful sight.

Honestly, if it were to rain now, it would probably be a blood rain, judging from the way that Grealor warriors were dropping dead and fast even though they were well-trained.

But before Kawai, no other army would ever be as strong as the Kawaian army.

And that was a brutal truth they were relating to now.

Back on the other side of the field, a smug Ashton was still rambling the king’s ears off, like that was supposed to distract the kingdom from the fact that this battlefield was ant to end like the day everything had gotten fucked up in Kawai years ago.

But the king...

Oh, Zaffuto was sothing else.

"I’ve carried the weight of your cris through the years. The cries of the woman you killed. The pain that we all endured because of you. I carried it all so you could see it today, Ashton," the mad king said, his voice low.

However, the fury in his voice was still contained. It was as if he were waiting for sothing. A trigger, anything that would remind him of what could happen. But then he was the mad king.

Nothing about him was good and patient.

Or perhaps that was a different picture he was painting for the stupid wolf glaring at him proudly, right?

"If that is supposed to scare , then you’re very mistaken, Zaffuto. I did what no one had the guts to do. The necessary. You paraded yourself as an invincible man for ages.

"Yet one strike at your birthing Hall and you were reduced to a broken king. A coward in the shadows. If you ask , I won. And I will win today too. You still have a weakness, old king. That son.

"The apple of your eyes. The child you haven’t stopped looking at since the battle began. Igor Konstantin may be your child’s weakness, but Tamiko is your weakness.

"That’s how I know I will win," Ashton laughed maniacally as he stared at the king, who was not even flinching at his tone.

King Zaffuto was too relaxed for a man who had just been threatened.

He looked like he wasn’t even the least bit bothered by this shit, and it was crazy to say the least. This wasn’t the kind of reaction anyone had been expecting.

But maybe after everything that had happened, the mad king had learned patience even when all he had was pure pain... a horror that would forever scar him.

It was a ti that would always hurt, but then that was the worst day of his life, a lesson that he didn’t even have the guts to face just yet. Maybe it was the horror that he wasn’t worried about anymore.

The son he was being threatened with was already a powerhouse on his own, tearing through the masses like he didn’t have the ti to breathe wrong and right at the sa ti.

Tamiko was his father’s pride even on this ashy day, a day where blood and fire t in the worst of ways.

"You know... When soone gives you a gift, you need to learn to say thank you. I may have killed your won, but it was for the greater good. Who knows... Maybe it taught you a little about life and how fickle it can be.

"You should thank ," Ashton insisted, and the warriors who were close felt a cold horror wash over them at that mont. They were surprised at Ashton’s lack of remorse in a place that was filled with the blood of his kin.

Maybe he needed a lesson on pride and prejudice, but surely life couldn’t be that complicated, no? The fact that the mad king was staring at him amusedly was really sothing else.

What the hell did Ashton fear if not this?

"Necessity, you say. You murdered infants and weak won because of necessity? You dare to justify your cruelty to those who did nothing to you?? If you talked of slaughtering warriors, it would have been understandable.

"But you went for the innocents. The most vulnerable. Those who had nothing to do with the war. Even the worst of devils never went after won and children, Ashton," Zaffuto said, his voice shaking with rage, threatening to snap.

He had been doing great with control, but then every word from Ashton was a reminder of why forgiveness was never going to be a thing here. He was not going to stop until he got what he needed. What his people needed.

That was more than justified at this point.

"Oh, please... You bent the knee, didn’t you? Even to this day, you still hear their screams. You know why I didn’t bother to leave and tell you when it was done? I knew you had the power to read people’s minds.

"To see the vivid shit that happened even when they were dead. And you saw it all, didn’t you, old king? What I just described? Yet here I am, standing headstrong before you, very invincible;

"...and you can’t even take that back or even turn back ti. No wait... you can turn back ti, but if you do turn back ti, you won’t be with your son, all the loopholes will be so fucked and you wouldn’t know where to start.

"Isn’t fate a good thing?" Ashton taunted, his voice treading the king, you would think that he was talking about the weather.

The battlefield around them grew harsher.

The Lycans were in pure shock.

They had never seen or even heard sothing like this, ever. They had never seen a proud wolf who had fucked up their lives and still stood that like life was not fucked over for them already.

As they listened to the dark alpha recount and be so proud of insanity, they realized that the king had endured the agony all on his own.

Their mad king had known what had happened after.

He had seen it all.

And he endured it on his own.
