[ZULA]

"Leave, before I kill you," Zaffuto warned in his cruelest tone. It was one that scared even the people around him and yet the stubborn woman just stood there, the sword in her hand as she stared right at him.

"Get on with it then. I’m already sleepy as it is," Liana said nonchalantly like she had no regard for her life.

Many would switch places with her just to be the one the king found trash out at, and yet here she was, determined to push every last button the king had engaged. She was risking everything, and she didn’t care.

She had lost everything before and now, she had nothing left to lose. Her parents had died, thankfully by natural causes and Liana had mourned them. That was the one ti she had seen the king be helpless and uncertain.

He had let his guard down when she was at her weakest and that was how she made up her mind that this man could be saved. That she would do whatever it took to get him to acknowledge his humanity.

She would try her very best to let the realm know that beneath the monster they had been used to, there was an actual person who could fly too. Perhaps it was a long shot, but Liana was not going to back down.

"You really are asking for it, aren’t you?" Zaffuto said as he walked towards her, daring her to close the distance between them, sothing that Liana Hinata didn’t perceive as a threat.

To her, this was just another day of the king being the king, only that she didn’t have the patience to wait for him to finish throwing his tantrums.

They should have been in bed, and yet here they were with the animals of the night because her Erasthai was determined to prove to everyone that the mate bond hadn’t changed him.

It was a truth that pissed Liana off, and if the king was going to ruin her night, then she had no difficulty in returning the favor either way.

"Depends... What are you offering?" Liana asked, making Zaffuto facepalm. It was a sight that shocked the wolves on the battlefield and they were sure the king had truly gone bonkers.

They were not even scared of being killed, no. they were worried about the sanity of the realm.

Funny how they were his extended victims and yet they were certain that a crazier version of him was bound to tear down the realm into endless pieces that couldn’t be fixed.

Could they help it though?

"Listen, woman. Go back to the palace. This is not a place for soone like you," Zaffuto said as he decided against walking toward her. She was creeping him out and it wasn’t that good kind.

And yet even then, he couldn’t deny that his scent was making him feel things. It was making him question himself and even what he was doing outside on the night of their mating.

But then he had to fight emotions because, to Zaffuto, emotions were nothing but a distraction. Surely, he couldn’t believe that of Liana Hinata too, right?

"Tell , Shuten... where is the place for ?" Liana asked, closing the distance between them. She had long learned that she was a weakness for the king, and not just on the battlefield.

The madman’s breaths were ragged around her, even then he tried to make them steady. It was sothing he couldn’t control and right now, with Liana staring at him like prey, she could hear his fast heartbeats.

Well, they only made Liana happier because she believed that she would make his heart learn to do other things other than just pumping blood. Would it be the best choice for her though?

The king was not an easy target, but was he fighting him on that front? Then again, Zaffuto was not easy to understand. Liana sure had a lot of work waiting for her to sort through.

"Are you hard of hearing?" Zaffuto asked frustratedly.

He had never t an annoying Lycan like this woman. Hell, even his brother Sadako was not as annoying as Liana. It was almost like the woman was sent from hell; to co and make his life difficult and he couldn’t even strangle her tiny neck.

It was tempting for him, sure, but he didn’t know what his life would be like when he didn’t have her to go back to.

Humanity was not a subject the king wanted to explore so he attributed his apparent affection for the woman as sothing that was an anomaly and sothing he needed to fix.

"Are you?" Liana bit back, irking the king even more.

Honestly, Zaffuto was done with her and her crazy antics. So, to get himself so peace of mind, the king created a portal back to the Kawai palace. He knew that this was the only way and while she would probably co at him with a larger word, he had to do it.

This was not the palace for her, she was too delicate for the scars of the battlefield. She was too pure for the rage that the wars always ca with. She was innocent and he wasn’t about to ruin that.

So, with a last sigh, he thrust her roughly into the portal, silently apologizing for how chaotic it could be for her. Granted he wouldn’t like it, but it was way safer for her at the palace than out here with him.

He had to decide and this was the mont. So, when the portal closed behind her, the mad king let out a sigh of relief... only for another portal to open up and for his Erasthai to co back out, this ti, looking enraged as shit.

"You are a whacko. I told you, I am not leaving here without you. So, you can either co with or we will fight these wolves, or murder them, the decision is yours, Shuten," Liana said and Zaffuto could have sent the deities to hate him.

Sure, he wasn’t the best of creation out there but to have him stick with a crazy psycho like Liana was too big a punishnt. He preferred to be locked up in a prison world, all alone and with no one or look forward to, over the truth the tiny woman was putting him through.

"You’re a fucking nuisance," Zaffuto sighed, gripping his blade so tight that anyone would, think he would swing it at Liana who didn’t even seem bothered by the grip on her Erasthai’s blade.

It was almost as if she had better things to worry about than the mad Lycan of the realm eliminating her in the worst of ways possible. Oh, but she was a piece of work.

"And you are wasting my sleep. Be quick with your murders so we can go ho. If you need help, give the count and I’ll help you finish the job," Liana said irritatedly, her lack of sleep getting to her.

She couldn’t believe how impossible the barbarian king was and it was not making her life easy. She wanted him out of here. Was that too much for her to ask of him? But then again, why the fuck was Zaffuto Hinata adamant about staying away from the palace then?

"I didn’t get you out of the place, woman," Zaffuto said and Liana rolled her eyes at him.
