Peng Xiu, caught off guard by his admission, blurted out, "No amount of betrayal should warrant you to kill soone!" Her voice quivered with indignation. Sienna’s sister brushed her hand against Sienna, worry etched across her face. An arranged marriage was one thing, but marrying a violent man was another entirely.

"Speak," the Imperial Lord commanded, his voice a low growl.

Xiang Yu gestured to the steward, who quickly left the room. Then, with a defiant look, he faced his father. "Father, weren’t you the one who said the price of betrayal is blood?" he said his challenge wrapped in a smirk. The tension thickened, his words hung in the air, sharp as daggers.

The imperial lord clenched his jaw, his teeth grinding together. Just as he felt his composure slip away, Xiang Yu’s voice cut through the silence.

"He destroyed everything in my attendant’s room," he said, a smirk playing on his lips as he gestured toward the images on his floating screen revealing a chaotic ss in what was once Han Xin’s room. The sight was a ss of overturned furniture and scattered belongings.

The imperial lord’s brows knitted together in frustration. His gaze flicked to Han Xin, who stood with his head bowed. Xiang Yu noticed the unspoken thoughts swirling in the lord’s mind and chuckled, a sly glimr in his eyes.

"Oh, don’t misunderstand," he continued, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I didn’t do it for him. If I can’t trust soone in my own palace, doesn’t that make more vulnerable to outside attacks?" His gaze shifted to Peng Xiu, the tension between them palpable.

Their eyes locked, each pair filled with unspoken threats. Xiang Yu leaned back, crossing his legs with an air of casual confidence. "Isn’t that right, sister?" he asked, his tone mocking.

Peng Xiu furrowed her brows, anxiety creeping in. She sensed the danger in his words. He was poised to expose her sche, but how could he? The last ssage she received from Xiao He had begged for rescue, hinting at a grim fate for the man she had used as a pawn. With the ti that had passed, she was certain Xiang Yu had disposed of him.

She had orchestrated a plan, even sending her minions to contact the man’s mother, sharing news of his supposed end. Online, images of his injuries and desperate ssages had flooded Star Net. A video showed the elderly woman blind in one eye, pleading for justice. She even went as far as to ask Princess Sienna for help.

Xiang Yu knew of her trap, yet she remained unaware of his true capabilities. "But you can’t just go around killing people," Peng Xiu protested, her voice steady despite her racing heart.

"Who said I killed him?" Xiang Yu replied, a grin spreading across his face.

At that mont, the steward entered the hall, dragging the supposedly missing man behind him. He was thrown to the ground, and the sight shocked everyone. His bruises had healed, his clothes neat and clean. In fact, he looked healthier, even a bit plumper than in the photos Peng Xiu had seen.

Her eyes widened in disbelief. She had been so sure, her sources had confird it. But there he was, alive and well, right before her very eyes.

Xiang Yu pointed at him, a gleam of triumph in his expression. "As you can see, he is alive and well."

The hall fell silent, the weight of the revelation settling in. Peng Xiu’s mind raced. Was this a trick? Or had she underestimated him all along?

A smile playing on his lips he said, "So what if I roughed him up a bit," while glancing down at the man trembling on the floor, his forehead pressed against the cool tiles of the dining hall. The man kowtowed, his body shaking like a reed in the wind.

"Was I wrong for that?" Xiang Yu continued, his voice steady. "Yes I was... but I was angry."

Imperial Lord Xiang, seated at the head of the table, furrowed his brow. "Why didn’t you inform when such a big thing happened?"

Xiang Yu sighed, his gaze drifting to the ornate ceiling. "It was such an insignificant thing in my palace. If I run to you for help, won’t that make seem weak?"

The Imperial Lord understood. If he had been in Xiang Yu’s shoes, he would not have just beaten the man, he would have ended him.

"The real issue here is who was behind this," Xiang Yu declared, his tone shifting.

Peng Xiu, now sitting quietly across the table, felt a chill run down her spine. She stiffened but maintained her calm facade.

The Imperial Lord turned to the trembling man, his voice low and commanding. "Who put you up to this?" The Republic prided itself on the law, but the Imperial Lord was known for his ruthlessness.

Peng Xiu’s expression remained stoic, but inside, she was reeling. She had never expected it to co to this. She quickly masked her shock, her mind racing to defend herself. "Father, we can’t trust the words from this traitor’s mouth. We should imprison him and make him talk another way."

Xiang Yu casually glanced at her, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Sister, why are you so nervous

Peng Xiu clenched her jaw, wishing she could wipe the smug smile off his face.

"Let the man speak," Xiang Yu urged. "Who put you up to it?"

The man on the floor looked up, fear etched on his face, and stamred, "Th-the Raunet family?"

The na hung in the air, heavy with implications. Peng Xiu had prepared to accuse the man of lying, but the ntion of the Raunet family sent a jolt of surprise through her. Why didn’t he ntion her na?

The Raunet family was already in a tight spot. They had been in the news for illegal firearms dealings, and now, they had dared to attack the Imperial Lord’s heir. It was unacceptable.

Imperial Lord Xiang’s expression darkened. He had hesitated to arrest the Raunet family, believing their claims that they could suppress the news, but this was a direct affront to his family. They were his allies who should have had his back but instead they had acted against him.

Han Xin, watching the exchange, remained indifferent on the outside, but surprise flickered in his eyes. He hadn’t expected Xiang Yu to choose this direction. The Raunet had nothing to do with what happened to his room so what was Xiang Yu planning? Was he helping him bring them down?

Just then Xiang Yu discretely crossed his

thumb and forefinger at him forming a heart shape but it was wasted on Han Xin

because he couldnt understand what was going on. His man was so clueless.

Xiang Yu, "..."

"Father, you heard his confession. The Raunet family put him up to it," he said before his gaze flickered to Peng Xiu, a spark of challenge igniting in his eyes. Only she could decipher the provocation hidden beneath his calm exterior.
