Xiang Yu let out a mocking laugh, his eyes gleaming with amusent. "Oh, really? And what were you planning to do once you ’investigated’?" He turned to Han Xin, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Babe, why don’t you check under the floor pot, inside the lampshade, and..."

Peng Xiu’s eyes widened in horror as Xiang Yu began listing all the places she had hidden from the listening devices. She had to stop him, to silence him before he revealed everything. With a feral scream, she lunged at Xiang Yu, her hands reaching out to strangle him. "You evil bastard!"

But before she could lay a finger on Xiang Yu, Han Xin reacted. With lightning speed, he kicked Peng Xiu’s legs out from under her, sending her crashing to the ground. Her head hit the edge of the coffee table with a sickening thud, causing her to see stars.

"You beast!" Peng Xiu scread, her hand reaching up to touch the blood trickling down her temple. She looked up at Han Xin, her expression shifting from anger to one of pitiful despair. "Han Xin, how can you believe him? I’ve been by your side since the beginning. How can you trust this man over ?"

Peng Xiu crawled towards Han Xin, her body aching from the fall. She reached out with trembling hands, her fingers grasping at his pants, pleading for his attention. "Please, Han Xin, listen to . I love you, only you."

Xiang Yu’s face twisted into a sneer as he watched Peng Xiu’s pathetic display. He stepped forward and kicked her hands away from Han Xin, sending her sprawling to the ground once more. "Don’t touch him with your filthy hands," he snarled, his eyes cold and devoid of empathy.

Peng Xiu lay on the ground, tears mixing with the blood on her face. She knew she had lost this battle, but her love for Han Xin burned fiercely within her. As she struggled to get up, her eyes locked with Han Xin’s, pleading for him to understand. But Han Xin’s expression remained unreadable, his gaze as cold as ice.

Xiang Yu’s breath ca in ragged bursts, fueled by a seething rage that coursed through him, ignited by the sight of Peng Xiu trying to touch his lover.

The demon blood that lay slumbering within his veins stirred violently, awakening an insatiable thirst for blood. With every second that ticked by, the chains that held his rationality at bay began to fray and snap, revealing the feral creature lurking just beneath the surface, a creature that had too long been restrained.

Xiang Yu’s eyes, once soft and warm, now blazed with the ferocity of a storm unleashed, dark and unyielding like an obsidian abyss. He didn’t care that she was already down, her wicked façade unravelling. With one swift motion, he unsheathed his dagger, its blade glinting ominously in the light. Crouching low, he gripped her collar tightly, dragging her close.

"Tell , Peng Xiu," he hissed, barely above a whisper but loaded with venom, "why don’t you tell Han Xin what you really are, huh?"

Blood trickled from the jagged gash on her temple. The sight of that wound would make one tremble in fear. Yet, even as the crimson liquid seeped into her hair, she wore a sinister smirk, her mouth curled into a semblance of defiance. Xiang Yu pressed the cold steel of his blade against her neck, drawing forth the very essence of that defiance. A tiny bead of blood blossod at the tip of the blade, painting the air with impending doom.

Her brow furrowed montarily, a fleeting flash of panic flickered across her eyes. It was a crack in her facade that she desperately tried to hide. The realization that Xiang Yu might know her true identity sent ripples of disbelief coursing through her.

She scoffed internally, convincing herself he was only trying to intimidate her. But Xiang Yu would not allow her the luxury of escape. He spun her face back with the flat of the blade, forcing her to et his gaze.

"Uh uh uh," he taunted, a sinister lilt to his voice. "Don’t look at him. Look at ."

The mont dragged heavily in the charged atmosphere as if ti itself held its breath. In a defiant act, Peng Xiu spat, sending a spray of blood and saliva toward Xiang Yu’s face. The grotesque display was an affront that ignited even deeper flas of fury within him. Han Xin rushed forward, an instinctive reaction against the chaotic scene unfolding, a mixture of disgust and loathing blooming in his chest toward the woman he had once deed trustworthy.

How blind had he been to allow her into his inner circle? The thought churned in his head like unsteady waters, a bitter current that refused to settle. She had been efficient and effective when it ca to her work. This was why he hadn’t severed their professional ties, despite knowing that she had feelings towards him.

Xiang Yu raised his hand to stop Han Xin who was walking towards him, a sinister calm draping over him like a shroud. He wiped the blood from his face with the back of his hand, a quiet smile curling at the corners of his lips. It was an unsettling grin that sent chills all over Peng Xiu’s body but she kept a brave front refusing to back down.

She believed that Han Xin was an upright person and would not let Xiang Yu do anything to her despite everything but soon she was proved wrong. Xiang Yu’s sinister sneer cut through the air like a sharpened blade. "Should I tell him, or will you, Special Agent Peng?" Each word dripped with malice, echoing in Han Xin’s mind. You couldn’t understand what Xiang Yu was talking about.

But soon realisation crashed down on Han Xin like a bucket of cold water was splashed on him. He thought Peng Xiu was just a pervert but it turns out she was from the Bureau of Organised Cri. Fuck, how did he miss this? His expression, though still composed, transford into a vessel for the pent-up bitterness. He glared at Peng Xiu with a gaze as frigid as ice.
