Xiang Yu stepped out of the elevator into the apartnt was rubbing his aching lower back. He had taken a little detour to the local store, picking up a few treats for Lian and i. The twins had already returned from school and he had missed pick up ti despite promising them that he would pick them up. This was why he bought them little trickets they would like to make up for it.

As the elevator doors opened he was t with the sight of Lian and i sprawled comfortably on the couch, their eyes glued to the television looking all comfortable. They seed to he watching cartoons. The program was unfamiliar to him but whatever it was it had them so hooked they didn’t even notice his arrival.

"I am back," he announced as he changed his shoes. He walked over and placed the shopping bags on the coffee table with a gentle thud. The twins’ heads snapped towards him, eyes lighting up at the sight of the bags.

"Master, where have you been?" Lian asked, her voice a mix of curiosity and relief.

i chid in, "Did you go see Han Xin today? Is that why you didn’t pick us up from school?"

Xiang Yu stretched his back, feeling the ache intensifying. "Yep," he replied, his voice carrying a hint of weariness. The stretch did little to alleviate the tension in his muscles, a reminder of Han Xin roughly manhandling him.

Lian’s eyes narrowed as she nudged i, a silent communication passing between them. "What happened to your back?" Lian asked, her tone laced with suspicion.

Xiang Yu, oblivious to the twins’ dirty thoughts, shrugged nonchalantly. "Han Xin happened, that’s what. He just had to be so rough."

The twins exchanged a glance, their earlier excitent over the shopping bags montarily forgotten. There was sothing unspoken in their gaze that Xiang Yu didn’t notice.

Xiang Yu groaned as he walked away, each step a reminder of his mortal limitations. He missed his immortal body from the real world, where a tussle with Han Xin wouldn’t leave him feeling like his back was broken. "I am going upstairs to sleep. Wake up at dinner," he said, stretching his aching back before heading towards the stairs.

Lian and i turned to watch him ascend, their eyes filled with curiosity. i leaned over and whispered sothing to Lian, who nodded in agreent. They settled back on the couch not sure whether to congratulate their master for ahem... or tell him to stay away from Han Xin otherwise he would only get hurt in the end.

Lian pulled out her phone and opened an app, quickly placing an order. When the notification ca that the order had arrived, she called Little Bai in the office downstairs. The phone rang twice before he picked up.

"What did you buy? You shouldn’t order takeout; it will ruin your dinner," Little Bai scolded, his voice carrying a familiar tone of concern.

Lian rolled her eyes. "Brother Bai, you know you nag like a mum."

"If it’s food, I am going to give it to soone else," Little Bai threatened.

i leaned closer to the phone. "It’s not food; it’s dicine for Master."

There was a pause on the other end. "Is he hurt?" Little Bai asked, his voice now tinged with worry.

Lian and i exchanged a glance. "You are too young to know," Lian said, a teasing lilt in her voice.

Little Bai was speechless. "I am obviously older than you," he protested.

i giggled. "Master’s back hurts, so we bought him dicine."

"Okay, I will bring it up later," Little Bai replied, his tone softening. "Tell when he wakes up. Oh, and take out the chicken."

"Okay," i said, and Lian hung up the call. They continued to play with the hair accessories their master had bought for them.

i said, "I think the green one suits you. It looks pretty," as she put it in Lian’s hair.

"You think it’s pretty?" Lian asked. i humd softly,

"Uh-huh. It looks good. Do you think the yellow one is pretty?" The two of them were ssing around with the accessories, enjoying themselves. One wouldn’t think they were the sa girls who started an anti-bullying agency at school. The motto was we make your bully cry, all at the price of a sweet dessert. Yes, their sugar addiction had reached that level.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden hue over the city, Little Bai returned to the apartnt from the tattoo parlour downstairs. The elevator doors slid open with a soft chi, and Lian and i turned their heads in unison to look in his direction.

"Did you bring it?" i asked, her voice tinged with anticipation.

Little Bai raised the plastic bag in his hand. "Yep," he replied, stepping out of the elevator.

Lian got up and took the bag from him. "Did you open it?" she asked, her eyes scanning the contents.

"No, I didn’t," Little Bai said, putting away the tattoo parlour keys and slipping into his house slippers. "What kind of dicine did you buy? I already have safflower oil. You could have just given Brother Yu that."

i, distracted, replied absentmindedly, "It would burn."

Little Bai frowned, puzzled. "Why would safflower oil burn unless there was a cut? Did he get cut? That’s the only reason safflower oil would burn."

i shook her head. "No, it will burn that place."

"i!" Lian yelled, her face flushing with embarrassnt.

Realising her slip, i quickly covered her mouth. Little Bai narrowed his eyes in suspicion, about to press further, but Lian stepped in front of him, blocking his path. "Thank you, Little Bai," she said quickly before walking away with the bag.

Little Bai stood there, montarily speechless. He then headed to the kitchen, his mind still turning over the odd exchange. Monts later, his voice echoed through the apartnt. "Lian! i! Where is the chicken I told you to take out?"

Lian and i exchanged guilty looks. "Sorry, Brother Bai, we forgot," i called out, her voice small.

Little Bai sighed as he opened the freezer, the cold air brushing against his face. "We can order so food," Lian suggested, trying to make ands.

Little Bai’s head peeked out from the kitchen doorway, a sceptical look on his face. "You would love that, wouldn’t you?"

Lian caught off guard, could only manage a sheepish smile. "..."

Yes, she would. Don’t get her wrong, Little Bai’s cooking was great, but the skewers from the shop a block away were really delicious.
