The chessboard and the battlefield in front made the gears in Lith's brain run in full force.
He suddenly rembered, he possessed an extrely striking ability like Sylvia and Fei's too.
It was one of the four abilities of his—Destiny Seer, one that he hadn't used yet.
Psych Puppetry and Paradigm Perception were used more often due the situation demanding it, but now it looked like it was ti to use this third ability of his.
As for the fourth one, Return, there was no need to use it. He didn't want to go ho as he wasn't in any imminent danger. Plus, this was his last resort. He still had many layers of protection before that, like the three Supre Ancestors of the Qing i Sect acting as backups, ready to pull him out anyti he wanted.
All Lith had to do was think and his spiritual power would start getting depleted as his pupils had ancient sigils form in a spiral in them.
His athyst purple pupils turned red and the black sigils kept spiraling.
The aura this gave off made Sylvia and Fei turn to look at him in awe. The power felt more ancient than what they both possessed.
In Lith's vision, he could see threads of different colors appear on the battlefield.
They stretched far and wide with the most common ones going to and fro the soldiers. They were a common gray on allies and the enemy's threads appeared red.
So red threads were coiled around the allies while a lot of gray threads coiled around the enemy and so even had knots.
Coiling probably ant multiple enemies had their eyes on a single target whereas a knot would an death? Or was it perhaps sothing related to their fates being sealed? Lith wasn't sure yet.
Other than these, there were pitch black threads coming from a corner of the battlefield, crawling towards the enemies and allies like slithering snakes.
This pitch black strand soon erupted out of the battlefield's model and slithered towards Lith's body.
Lith felt no sense of danger and his instincts were close to perfect, so he didn't worry much and waited to see what these strands would do.
Surprisingly, purple strands erupted from his own body and covered the pitch black strands, as if hugging them.
The purple strands went inside the battlefield and disappeared after a certain point.
Though, Lith could vaguely make out sothing from it.
"Sylvia, is my disciple nearby?" Lith asked flatly.
Sylvia nodded lightly. "He's on his way towards the main battlefield with Lucas."
Lith's guess was right. These strands indeed belonged to his disciple Zhao Shi. These pitch black ones represented curses and disaster. They had no effect on Lith himself for unknown reasons but they sure could affect the soldiers on the battlefield.
Though, Shi's curse could not make out between friends and foes. It also didn't keep him safe. Shi could very well get swept in the disasters and suffer trendously.
Zhao Shi's entry seed like it could cause a major change. It was to be seen what would happen next.
Next, as Lith moved his gaze across the battlefield, he saw golden threads around Roy. They were coiled around the Sixth Pillar and so also ca out and went towards Lith.
The strand that reached Lith, however, had so black mixed to it, as if the connection was corrupted.
'Hm? Is Roy's fate with mine about to end? Is it because he'll die or is it because he'll rebel and move away?' Lith had a thought.
All of these threads were related to Destiny and corruption ant defection or death in the usual case. That was Lith's interpretation.
Tapping his finger on the table, Lith began calculating the way he should go about Roy's future.
A few minutes later, Lith felt a headache co his way. The pain was sharp and felt as if soone was stabbing a needle from within his head.
He stopped casting the ability and checked on his spiritual power, realizing he had almost depleted it whole. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ novel-fire.ɴet
He sighed and shook his head. Watching the Destiny of so many at once wasn't a joke. He wasn't even a demigod or god to do such a thing. It was good enough to have seen this much. He could try again later when his spiritual power and ntal strength were restored.
"Oh, there's a change!" Fei suddenly exclaid and made Lith look at the chessboard.
From the white side, the queen piece made a move and captured two pawns. Though, it also made white side lose a pawn in response.
Lith's eyes twitched and he stared at the battlefield.
A teenager was here on the battlefield with a black-haired muscular figure by his side.
This was Zhao Shi, Lith's Jinx disciple.
Zhao Shi looked at the red sky and the fighting figures on the ground and in the sky. The constant ringing of tal made his ears numb.
He frowned and asked, "Lucas, what are the chances everybody attacks us?"
"Stop addressing by my na. I am not your servant, but your master's." Lucas clicked his tongue. "And to answer you, it's very likely if we don't make a move first."
Zhao Shi sighed. "Figures. Let's go then."
Zhao Shi had no combat capabilities or movent abilities. However, did it matter?
His master was rich!
Super ultra rich!
Zhao Shi took out a few talismans and ripped them apart, getting himself blasted into the air and having a few balls of fire flow out from him, into the battlefield.
His goal was to cause chaos and what better was there than to use so artillery?
Due to his master, he had a lot of talismans! The ones he used now were penny change!
The fireballs were thrown aimlessly and wiped out two major legions of the AGC and one legion of the EGC.
Due to using wind and fire talismans together, Zhao Shi ended up causing an explosion in his imdiate surroundings, shooting down on the ground from the sky.
He went down as fast as he ca up.
Watching the fiasco, a vein popped on Lith's forehead.
This disciple of his was getting quite shaless and cocky!
And of all people, why did it have to be him as the queen!?!
