Rudy and others boarded their hover jet and returned to the syndicate’s headquarters.

At the mont, Rudy was swinging his sword in a private arena, and before his eyes were his runes.

He had obtained a total of six essence shards for his stealthy kill, and the missions had made him aware of how different his body actually was.

Unlike his previous fragile human body, his vampire body was much stronger, allowing him to cut through the flesh of deviant dreadborns like it was nothing.

During combat, his senses were sharper, and he didn’t feel the terrifying feeling of sothing being wrong from the dreadborns, and it was easier to keep calm under dreadful situations.

Yet, his mastery over the sword was not yet at the level that he once was... most of his attacks were strong because of his body, which was no big deal, but in case of fatigue, he wouldn’t be able to use the sa amount of strength, and then only his combat skills would help him survive.

His muscles groaned as he repeated each swing countless tis, and once he was done, he changed the arena’s mode to Golem.

The tallic floor parted from three spots, and three black robots with essence energy cores at the center of their heads rushed towards Rudy.

Their speed was equal to that of an above-average deviant, and they were programd to fight with the capabilities of veteran irregulars.

The golems swung their tallic arms at him, and he blocked them with his sword.

The sound of tal collision echoed throughout the arena as he blocked their attacks and used his free hand to punch them or his legs to kick them away.

"Try harder," He muttered as he ducked down and slamd his elbow into a golem’s head.

The golem slid backwards, and the other two kicked at him from opposite sides.

Rudy grinned and jumped closer to the golem on the left. Its robotic leg narrowly missed, and he struck it in the center of its chest, sending it rolling back to the ground.

For the next two hours, he continued to spar against the golems without landing any heavy hits on them, and his haloband buzzed and glowed red.

[Arena duration ended.]

[You may return after 12 hours to use it again.]

The golems froze.

A dry sigh left him; he placed the sword back in its place and left the arena.

After returning to his room, he took a bath and jumped into his bed as he thought, ’I am a cadet now, but nothing has changed at all... I haven’t been assigned to any fixed circle, and I’ve not been placed under any enforcer. Why are they wasting ti? They have already made a cadet, so they should treat like one—’

Knock! knock!

Soone knocked at his door and pulled him out of his thoughts.

He looked at the door with furrowed brows and stepped out of bed. Then he opened the door and asked, "Who..."

But seeing the pair of yellow and blue eyes staring at him, the question died in his throat, and he mumbled, "Enforcer Ruviera..."

"w," Ruri and Mimi nodded at him, and she said with a wide smile, "You are lucky."

Rudy blinked a few tis and thought, ’Lucky...? What kind of trouble is she trying to force into?’

"What do you an?" He asked with a puzzled expression.

Ruri grinned and said, "You have been selected to be a mber of the Realm Diver Program."

’Realm Diver Program?’ Rudy’s face turned gray in confusion, and seeing that, Ruri turned around and said, "Let’s go, I’ll explain it to you on the way to the diver ward."

Rudy nodded and followed behind her.

As they walked beside one another, Ruri lifted her head at a forty-five-degree angle to look at him. "Ruri’s neck will hurt like this," she comnted.

Rudy scratched his cheek and slightly lowered himself.

Ruri frowned. "Don’t do that. It makes feel short."

’But you are short... You’re five feet six inches,’ Rudy remarked in his head, but didn’t voice his thoughts; he wasn’t stupid enough to antagonize a breaker that too Giggling Dagger, who was known for her swift assassinations.

As they walked through the corridors, Rudy asked, "So? What’s this Realm Diver Program?"

She gave him the eerie smile of a killer and answered, "Well, it’s nothing big. We are just going to train so talented individuals to enter the undiscovered parts of the old realm."

"What?" The word left him before he could even finish comprehending what she had just said.

Just like how the modern realm was the ho of humans, the old realm was the ho of dreadborns, so he could not understand why the syndicate would throw its talent into the maw of death.

Rudy also wanted to enter an undiscovered part, but he planned to do so after training for at least a year.

Seeing his dark expression, Ruri chuckled and said, "Don’t worry about it... It’s the second ti we are doing it, and this ti the training will be for five months instead of two."

Rudy nodded sombrely and asked, "How many of the first divers returned alive?"

Ruri’s expression turned grave. Mimi rubbed her head against Ruri’s and mumbled, "ow..."

The carefree smile returned to her face, and she said with an emotionless grin, "The last ti was pretty bad... only one survived."

Rudy froze in his steps. His lips opened and closed a few tis as he thought, ’An extrely talented nineteen-year-old breaker...’

After receiving no response from him, Ruri giggled as she turned towards him and added, with a cheery smile, "Yep, it was Ruri~!"
