Valerian wanted to move forward to counter the wind blade going after the girl’s neck, but he could not make a difference at this stage. He closed his eyes with regret in his eyes, when he sensed a sharp pain in his torso. It was as if sothing had stabbed into his abdon.
The young monk took a few steps back, and his eyes widened in disbelief. The girl he worried about stood holding a knife in her hands, dripping with blood. It was not only Valerian, but even the assailant was shocked.
She could not help but exclaim, "You survived that."
Valerian had been linking his entire body with mana and battle aura. While the mana repelled all the toxins, the battle aura relieved him from pain. The silver-haired monk did not reply to the girl but channeled light mana around his wound to gradually heal it. The girl clicked her tongue and said, "To think I will et a battlemage and that too as skilled as you are. This southern continent is filled with miracles, don’t you think?"
The young man narrowed his eyes and asked, "You speak as if you are not from the southern continent."
His remark made the girl chuckle, and she replied, "You sure are perceptive. However, looking too deep into things is not always good."
Valerian clicked his tongue and said, "Another one who thinks she is invincible. Let guess. You are a lap dog for Immortuous."
His casual deanor shocked the girl, and then she snapped back at him, "How dare you address him without any honorifics? I will cut off your tongue for this, monk."
Valerian smiled and vanished from his spot, then appeared behind the girl and kicked at the back of her head. However, the girl was not a weakling. She turned around quickly and stabbed the knife at Valerian’s leg on the counter.
However, the young man sneered. He stopped his kick in the middle and cast an air wall under his right foot. Using the air wall as a footing, Valerian jumped away. The girl did not give up but chased after him. Valerian had taken notice of the pendant around her neck. This pendant was made from ancient pine wood, which allowed her to nullify the wind blade spell.
Valerian had located the place where the children were being kept. However, he did not make any move to open their cells. Even the enemy could not go inside if he could not go inside. The cages were made of anti-magic tal, the fire glass steel.
The two people fought with great enthusiasm. They did not hold back, and suddenly Valerian said, "Shit."
After this, he began to put up a defensive stance. The strength of the two people was similar. If he kept fighting head-on, the battle would not have any result. Valerian was not a fool. He was aware that this lady was still holding back, and to make her go all out was a waste of ti.
However, the lady was not as dumb as Valerian hoped her to be. She did not bite the bait laid out by him. On the contrary, the young man found himself in a bind where he could not even counter the attacks. This opponent was not simple.
Valerian had been fighting with his battle aura covering his fists and joints. This technique was optimal and allowed to move fast. However, it compromised the defense for it. Valerian did not cover his entire body in the battle aura because he wanted the enemy to underestimate him.
Since he had laid down a trap, he would commit it to the end. The lady managed to close the distance and pushed Valerian against a wall as she held his throat in her grip. Her fingernails dug into his flesh. The lady smiled and said, "You are the first one in a long ti who made work so hard in a long ti."
Valerian was trying hard to breathe, and his face was pale. He reached out and tried to claw the lady’s face, but his body seed devoid of energy. The lady saw all this and said, "Aww, fighting till the last breath?"
As she spoke, she leaned closer to Valerian and stuck out her tongue to lick the young man’s earlobe. She whispered, "How about you help from now on, and you can have everything, you know, everything that a man could desire."
Valerian did not react, his breathing beca shallower with every mont, and the lady enjoyed the process as she licked his nape and jawline. Just when she was about to kiss him on his lips, she sensed a sharp pain in her abdon. Her eyes widened as she looked down, only to find a claw covered in red digging inside her belly.
She tried to move back, but Valerian grasped her throat and snatched the pendant away. The lady tried to stop him, but her left hand was cleanly decapitated and fell to the ground the next mont.
The pain was so intense that she could not help but let out a choking wail. Valerian was free, the hand around his throat had been cut off, and his enemy did not have the shield from mana. He said hoarsely, "You are just a bitch at his feet. If you are gone, he will replace you with another toy."
The lady glared at him with her tearful eyes. Valerian retracted the hand inside her belly and cast a healing spell to close it. Then he cauterized her shoulder and cast a healing spell to prevent the burned flesh from festering.
Valerian channeled mana in his throat, and raising a hand to the sky, he was about to cast the beaconing spell for the knighthood when he heard many bird calls. Looking up, he found that at least a hundred magical beasts were swooping down toward the settlent.
The young man was surprised, but he located Calor among the people. Then he looked at the woman glaring at him with great rage. He said, "Bitch of the Tyrant, allow to introduce myself. I am Valerian Divinus Magnus, son of Divinus and Flos. Now do you know why I hate that coward? Huh?"
The lady could not believe her ears. The person they have all been looking for turned out to be a child under the order of rcy. Suddenly, she devised a rough plan to flee the place and stabbed the fingers of her right hand toward Valerian’s eyes.
However, the young man was prepared for it. He snapped his finger, and a series of wind blades chopped her hand into segnts. The woman wailed as Valerian flung her off to the ground.
He said, "You just had to cut off all your way out, right?"
Then he raised his hand and was about to chop off her legs when an old voice sounded, "Valerian, enough."
The young man turned around and found an old knight walking toward him with everyone else following. Calor used hand symbols to convey the true identity of the old man. Valerian nodded and said, "Greetings, Commander Haista."
The old man nodded and looked around. He said, "You truly did not hold back."
Valerian shrugged and said, "They deserved what they were served."
Haista did not argue and asked, "What is the situation now?"
Valerian pointed at the groaning lady behind him and said, "This thing behind works for the Tyrant. She attacked lethally, so I had to remove her arms."
He pointed at the tear on his habit. Haista nodded and asked, "Where is Gwen?"
Valerian turned his head and found Gwen at the entrance of the settlent. She was saying prayers for the deceased as she walked in. Haista asked, "Why did you not wait for our arrival?"
The young man said, "I did not want to bother anyone else to walk down the flas of vita."
The people were surprised and Valerian said, "I have walked through them once, and I do not mind eting the goddess again."
Haista was shocked and asked, "What do you an by walking through the flas again and eting the goddess?"
Valerian was confused and wanted to answer when a loud neigh from the forest froze him and the lady on the floor laughed, "Hahahaha, you wanted to kill , right, bastard? Now let’s see if you will still be that cocky. I will have you lick my shoes clean. Your little nun will be the reason for it."
Valerian sensed his blood surge and he vanished from his place. Haista was surprised and said, "Colar secure the place. I will go after him."
Gwen rushed over and said, "Commander, hurry up. He left the child, Valerie there. If sothing happened to her, he would go on a rampage."
The old man did not have the ti to ask what was going on and directly chased after Valerian. Calor grabbed the lady by her neck and said, "So, among the hounds, there is a fox. I wonder if you will survive his wrath if anything happened to that child."
