200 Lost In The Curve.

Valerian left the pavilion and ca to the warrior wing to find Princess Morgana and Conixia, however, he found a clatter of hushed sounds in the air. The people around him were talking about how the prince of Centaur nation was defeated by a girl and brutally at that.

Valerian raised his eyebrow in anticipation and followed the directions from the crowd. His speed was calm, and did not stand out of the crowd for being too fast. When he reached the so-called arena of the warriors, he found a girl and a boy standing over an elevated platform. A boy was kneeling on the ground with his breathing ragged.

On the other hand, the lady stood with her chin high up to the sky and a pair of cold eyes locked down at the boy in front of her. She held a black whip in her hand and Valerian could tell that it was her weapon of choice. This whip gave a sinister vibe off it. He looked through the crowd and found Conixia.

Scurrying through the crowd the boy moved closer to the lady, and asked her in a low voice, “What happened here?”

Conixia was surprised at his sudden appearance and said, “Your Highness, can you please not scare my life away from my body all the ti?”

Valerian smiled and said, “I will try in future. Now, answer my question.”

The girl sighed and said, “I was giving her a tour just like you told to, when suddenly the prince of the Centaur ca forward and pointed finger at her. At first the princess did not respond but then the prince found out about my identity and said that the princess was out flirting with you. Then the lady challenged him for a duel and then she thrashed him with her whip. I must say, that whip gave goosebumps to even my soul.”

Valerian nodded and said, “Good, now let us wait for the duel to finish, after that, you will go back to the Lun Empire and work with Ensis. This place will not be safe. That narrow minded prince will try to co after you to vent his rage.”

Conixia nodded and said, “You do not have to worry much, Your Highness, I am now a grade five warrior. I can still hold my end against these guys.”

.....

Valerian nodded and replied, “It is good that you know your capabilities. but you must also know that the enemy does not always attack in the light. The arrow in the shadow is harder to defend than the spear in the light.”

The girl nodded and understood what he ant. It was not necessary for her enemy to attack her from the front. She was not smart enough to deal with the backstabs. She said, “Your Highness, I will follow your commands.”

The two were talking when Morgana knocked out the Prince on the stage and ca down slowly. Her steps were firm and the people were all shocked. They did not expect sothing like this to happen. After all, despite being weak, this guy was a student of the warrior wing, he must have held his ground against the enemy.

They did not know that Morgana was not a normal enemy and that she was far stronger than their classmate. The girl walked down and a lot of people cast her a gaze of indignation, however, they were all uncared for. Morgana had decided that if anyone dared to challenge her, she will beat the crap out of that person. She liked this feeling of beating people up for grievances.

This was sothing new to her, but she liked it. When she ca to the spot where Conixia was standing, she found that Valerian was also present on the spot. She was surprised but the boy cut her thoughts off as he said, “Let’s go to the battlemage tower. Ti is short.”

Morgana nodded and Valerian gazed at Conixia as he said, “Depart today.”

Conixia nodded and then made her way to her dormitory before she left the academy. Morgana and Valerian made their way to the battlemage tower on a steady pace. The two people did not say anything to each other on the way.

The princess had enough of his silence when they crossed the mage towers, and asked, “Do you really not want to ask anything?”

Valerian shook his head and said, “I only wanted to ask you if you liked venting and beating that person, but your eyes are evidently screaming that you did. Another thing that I am sure that you wanted to do was to get an excuse to defend yourself.”

Morgana sighed and said, “You are so intelligent that everything is obviously counted in your brain. Your future companion will be a lucky lady. She will be understood before she tried anything. What else does a woman need?”

Valerian shrugged his shoulders and said, “Tell when you find out. Now before anything else, let’s go to the battlemage tower. Your treatnt will start their.”

Morgana did not have any hope to get treated but she did not want to lay waste to the efforts of this young man, and went along with it. Valerian also did not hold any high hopes he was only trying to get her cured so that he could maintain a close relation with her. This was the key feature for his plan.

Morgana was aware of his intentions of getting close to her sowhat but she did not know the full extent of his ambition. Valerian was indeed just as Fallax had predicted, wanted to sit on the throne in the shadows where none bothers him and his chase for power. This was what he wished to gain from all this.

The constant struggle of power between the nations was diverting his ti and focus he did not wish for this to happen again and again. Plus, Morgana was soone he could relate to in terms of having a bitter life. Valerian really wished for to simple, partly.

The two people reached the battlemage tower and they ca inside. Fallax had invited the Archmage from the light tower inside already, and the old man has bought out a few ingredients that he could help Morgana.

Valerian said, “This is my teacher, Magnus Magister Fallax. The other person is Archmage Timothy from the tower of light.”

Morgana was surprised to see an Magnus Magister and an Archmage here. Specially the forr one, she did not expect Valerian to be taught by a magnus magister directly. Valerian looked at the old man and said, “This is the patient, Sire Timothy, please conduct a check up.”

Timothy nodded and ca closer to Morgana, he asked her a few questions related to her dical history. Morgana answered them all truthfully. Then the old Archmage gave her a twig of leaf. He said, “This is the twig of Pellego plant. It can detect all and any poisons inside the body of a person, including the venom from shadow viper.”

Morgana was surprised, she has never had such a thing before, and thus she placed the twig in her mouth and chewed on it gently. The enzys from the twig flowed inside her mouth, and soon a warm current spread throughout her body, and soon the warmth ca to her face, but her face was filled with cold.

The cold was limited around her lips, and Timothy’s voice sounded, “The poison is concentrated around her lips only. This will be easy to cure.”

Just when Morgana was doubting what was happening, she heard this voice and her soul froze in the spot. She could not help but opened her eyes wide. How could this guy say that this ailnt was easy to cure. The Archmage took out a glowing yellow vail from his side and said, “This is the serum made from the gall bladder of the shadow viper. I soaked it in so absorbent dicinal solutions. The properties of the bladder had been absorbed by this.

You do not have much of a poison in your body so this serum should be enough.”

Morgana held the vail in her arms and she was shocked. The princess was still in disbelief, but Valerian said, “Morgana hurry up, my ti is running out.”

The lady woke up, took a deep breath and poured the content down her throat. She sensed the warmth running through her body, and finally it overwheld the chill around her lips. The next mont Morgana sensed so wetness around her mouth. Valerian took out a handkerchief and walked closer to the girl.

He said, “The poisonous blood is coming out of the pores. Clean it.”

Morgana hurriedly cleansed her face. When she looked at the handkerchief in her hand she found that it was stained black. The venomous blood that was blocking her nerves and tissues was pushed out from the body due to the antidote.

Valerian took the dagger from his back and then casually flipped it to the Archmage. The prince said, “The transaction has been completed.”

The two people nodded at each other and then Valerian said, “Morgana let’s go.”

He did not wait for anything else, and just left after a casual farewell to Fallax. The two people ca to the main gates and Valerian called for Linea directly. The beast flew down from the skies and the two people climbed on his back.

Linea flashed away from the spot. Morgana was looking at Valerian with a shocked face. She did not know what to say to this guy. Valerian said, “That old man Fallax was getting late for his date with Teacher Lilian. I tell you, what sort of colorful bastard this guy is. Half a step is set in his grave yet he is searching to pluck flowers.”

Morgana was surprised and then she revealed a smile, she could not co to terms on how Valerian called the Magnus Magister a goon. This was sothing funny for her. Valerian gazed at her, and he was lost in the simplicity of the curve on her lips.
