Chapter 182: For Freeeeeee?
Although she was here to sell her Dragon at, there was no way that Belladonna was just going to not look over what Midas had on offer. Window shopping was a staple of any good shopping trip, no matter the purpose.
You never know when you might stumble across a good deal or sothing that you never realised you needed. That’s how she ended up with an amazingly cheap rice cooker, and also when she actually started to eat rice to then use her new rice cooker.
Midas’ herb selection had expanded, clearly having been visited by the floral picking player a few more tis, so she bought a variety of what he had in stock. So of it was components for spells she currently had, while others were taken just in case or because she had so suspicions about what they could be used for.
That was the benefit of her Bottomless Bag, she could just toss things in there willy nilly, forget about them completely until they beca useful. It was like so n and the random pieces of wood or tal that they hoarded for so strange reason.
He had a couple of scrolls that she eagerly took, just to have them for her collection, as well as a bundle of blank paper that she could use to make her own scrolls. If such a thing was even possible.
Finally, a cluster of small, glittering crystals drew her eye. There was roughly a dozen in total in a variety of shapes and colours, simply dumped onto the mat without a care.
"Who in the world sold you Source Remnants?"
"Source Remnants? I thought those were just random gems for making jewellery or sothing. I didn’t think much about them, considering they weren’t that big. But it seems you know more about them."
Midas answered with a frown, before it twisted into his money grubbing smile and raised his eyebrows expectantly to Belladonna. Clearly waiting on her to explain.
She laughed softly, and did exactly that, as she taught him all about the origin of Source Remnants and their purpose, especially for when it ca to magic players. She even went onto explain to him how soone might form their own source to advance, which was not well known even after a week of her absense.
A lot of players were still reliant on at for their mana advancing, after all. Which they didn’t mind all that much, as it lended itself to the average ga grind. But it was horribly inefficient.
At this point, she was not too bothered about this kind of information getting out. She was further ahead in nearly all but the most of elite of players when it ca to magic levels or stats, even if they were much higher in the Exp Level statistic.
Besides, there was still so ti before it started to bleed over to the real world, and forming a source over there was much harder than here, so with her head start Belladonna had no worries.
Midas’ eyes glimred as he processed the information, before laughing softly as he sat back in disbelief.
"You know... That is so pretty valuable information you have there. Especially to , because those things are selling for dirt cheap. If I can snatch them up while they are cheap, I can sell them for loads when people realise their purpose and make ga on the profits."
"Always the crafty business man, aren’t you?" Belladonna responded with a laugh as she inspected the Source Remnants one by one, checking the power stored within them as well as their natural elents, which was dependent on the type of creature they ca from.
"What can I say," Midas replied with a smirk and a shrug, "It’s in my blood. But even if I am crafty, I always pay a fair price for everything, and that includes information. Since you told
about them, you can take one for free. Think of the information as your paynt."
"Oh wow. Thanks Midas, I appr-"
"You still need to pay for the other stuff though!" He quickly interjected, just before she got any funny ideas about not giving him the Dragon at.
Belladonna couldn’t help but laugh and nod her head, "I know. But really, I do appreciate this."
She reached into her bag, pulling out the at he was so desperate for, and placed it down onto his mat. The sight of the at, and the powerful magic radiating from it, turned so heads and drew a lot of eyes.
So of the passersby even stopped for a mont and whispered amongst each other, wondering what was going on and what the at could possibly belong to.
Midas smiled widely at the gathering crowd, but ignored them and focused on the sale at hand. Simply letting his reputation grow on its own now that he was stepping out of the beggar role and into sothing more suitable for his distinguished self.
He did so quick ntal calculations, muttering under his breath before reaching into his ragged clothes and pulling out a small pouch. He handed it to Belladonna, who smirked back and placed it into her bag without counting it.
Not only would it be improper, but it might clue these people in on how much her at haul was worth, and that was unhelpful to soone who was wanting to massively mark it up and bleed these blue blood idiots dry.
She gave him a farewell wink, stashed all of her goods into her back and snatched up one of the Source Remnants, before standing and pushing her way out through the crowd.
Beans remained sitting there for a few monts, watching his Masters’ retreating back and glancing over his shoulder with pleading eyes towards the stack of at, before finally relenting and flying over the crowds to land on Belladonna’s head.
Midas quickly put the at away, making it disappear with a flutter of his mat of goods, before standing up straight and smiling widely at the crowd gathered around him.
"Well folks, What are you waiting for? Co on, Co all to Midas’ Marvellous Market where we have all sorts of curios, trinkets and so truly fresh produce. So... What are you buyin’?"
