Since I have the necessary equipnt, I began the alchemy process using the World Tree materials.
[Liora's Gardening Skill has leveled up!]
[Nero's Alchemy Skill has leveled up!]
The skill levels are skyrocketing. Both Liora's Gardening skill and my Alchemy skill are rising ridiculously. Which is really good.
It seems that the World Tree is crucial for production-oriented tasks.
The level of the materials is too high. I've failed many tis, but each failure has resulted in an increase in skill level as expected.
Moreover, the materials seem to be in unlimited supply (probably).
The skill levels are rising so rapidly that it has beco quite amusing. My Alchemy skill is now at level 69.
The efficiency is exceptional.
Additionally, although incomplete, I have managed to create a "Revival Potion."
"I can die anyti now…?"
"Please try not to die too often, Liora."
"Yes, God! If I die, can I co to your place?"
"Liora can always co to ."
"O… oh!"
Liora starts to get excited and her eyes spin around.
The effect of this revival potion is that it can be used once per day, and only within 30 seconds after death. The revived person will have 1 HP and will receive the negative status effect Near Death.
This is a debuff that causes HP to not increase from 1 for a week. However, it will decrease over ti.
Also, a considerable amount of pain will be inflicted. It is basically not an item to be used in combat; using it ans you are already in a losing situation.
However, it should sell for a high price.
"If it becos known that this is a production item and not a drop item, it could be problematic. We need to be careful when putting it on the market."
"Yes! There are many useful items."
"Yes, they are all interesting items. Bombs can also be used for attack purposes, and acids might be useful against special enemies."
Due to material constraints, we can only make potions and explosives.
It seems that if perfected, we could create Homunculi. So far, no player has created a Homunculus.
Though, it might just be kept secret.
However, we can now create Golems as long as we have the materials.
I'm looking forward to it. Find more chapters on empire
It's only a matter of ti before we start cheating as production specialists. …By the way, Samurai is also using the World Tree to raise her woodworking skills.
She seems to have made a bench. During her idle ti, Samurai sits expressionlessly on it.
…Is she quite fond of it?
When I suggested improving the design, she ignored completely.

***** anwhile *****
I decided to quit my job and make a living through gaming.
I don't find any rit in enduring societal life anymore. It's boring, dull, and uninteresting—this reality.
It's a world without the excitent you find in online novels.
But to think that a VRMMO would actually be developed in my lifeti… I've always wanted to play one.
By the ti I was able to get the equipnt to play, I had already missed the third wave.
But still!
Still, I can live in my ideal world. That thought alone kept going, and I quit my job. I've gathered enough information from the pioneers, and they've said that it's relatively easy to make a living through the ga.
I chose the dark spirit.
Of course, I should look to Zephyr, the most successful player so far, for guidance. I've already obtained the essential skill, [Manifestation].
The issue now is finding the right contract target.
From the third wave onwards, players can access the chaotic cities of teoearth, which are said to be much larger than previous fields.
Each city has its own unique traits—so are exclusively for elves, humans, dwarves, beastn, or a mixture of all.
Ideally, I want to make a contract with an elf, and preferably a beautiful girl.
I have no interest in teaming up with any brutish n.
However...
While I was floating near the slums of a certain city, I spotted a young man frantically running for his life. The back alleys were filthy, with waste scattered everywhere.
It was a scene under the black night, illuminated by the moonlight on the edge of the world.
The young man, with a swollen face, tripped and fell spectacularly.
"Ugh... Why? Why does nothing ever go right for ? I hate this... I hate this kind of life... I hate this shitty world!"
Seeing the pathetic state of the young man, I was deeply moved.
This young man is .
Despairing at the triviality of the world, bored, tired... yet without the knowledge, power, or will to change it, only my heart rotting away.
I have VR gas at least.
But this young man has nothing.
Without thinking, I approached the filthy young man. As he shed pitiful tears, I, Milim the Dark Spirit, whispered to him.
"Young man, don't you want the power to destroy this worthless world?"
"What... who are you? Am I going to die?"
"Make a contract with , young man. Then you'll be able to win against the world."
"Haha... I must have finally lost my mind. There's no way I could win. I've never won at anything in my entire life."
But! the young man howled at the moonlit sky.
"I want to win too! Just once, I want to beat those who looked down on , the smart ones who left the slums, the worthless scum who adapted to life here, the idiots who died... Just once, I want to win! I want to destroy this shitty world completely!"
"Then it's settled. You've got nothing to lose, right?"
"Yeah, that's right! I'll make the contract! Give power, you grim reaper!"
And the contract was sealed.
Just then, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching. It was those ruffians again. Leading them was a bald man wielding an axe, and his face looked terrifying.
"Hey, there he is. It's that idiot Stark! Just kill him already! There's no point in keeping him alive. He's worthless!"
"H-Hey, Grim Reaper! Do sothing!"
I shrugged my shoulders.
Well, I don't actually have shoulders since I'm a spirit. I whispered,
"[Darkness Berserk]."

"Now, Liora. The World Tree has grown quite a bit."
"Yes, my God! It's all thanks to your divine power..."
"No, this ti, it's thanks to you, Liora. You've done well."
"Oh... Waaaah!"
Tears of joy started streaming down Liora's face. Her emotional instability is part of her personality, so I won't hold it against her.
But it's always awkward when a young girl cries.
Thanks to Liora's efforts, the World Tree grew healthily. It now has its own self-defense chanisms, and it lashes out with its branches at anyone who approaches—except for Liora, of course. It even strikes at .
There was also that incident where Liora, enraged after the World Tree hit , slashed it in half with the [Reaper's Gift]. I panicked when I saw the tree cut in two, but luckily, it grew back just fine the next day.
The World Tree has now even gained the ability to summon vine hounds, making it a formidable entity.
Unfortunately, it isn't a taable monster, so I can't take it with . Well, not that a World Tree could walk anyway.
Both the forest and its inhabitants seem to welco the World Tree's presence. Instead of attacking it, they seem to be protecting it. Since this place is so remote, it's unlikely that anyone will co and try to hunt it down.
"For now, we've run out of food and supplies. Let's return to Mariela."
"...Yes."
"We'll co back again. We need to level up occasionally, or we'll get rusty."
"I'll do my best!"
Liora clenched her small, pudgy fists.
Although her hands may look soft and tiny, if this were the real world, she'd have the strength to crush with one grip. Such is the terrifying power of fantasy VRMMOs.
I landed on Liora's head and gently bounced up and down to comfort her.
"We'll be back, of course. The World Tree's materials are valuable, and this place is our ho, after all."
"...Hehe. Our ho. Mine and God's ho..."
"Yes, our ho."
We had enjoyed this slow life for about a month.
Well, in real ti, it's been just over a week.
The empty land is now covered with a grand tree, surrounded by a field of flowers. Next to it stands a pitch-black house.
We even dug a well, thanks to Samurai's earth magic. Though Samurai doesn't have much MP and isn't very good at magic, she managed to keep going by drinking the MP potions we had made in infinite supply.
Later, I learned that those potions tasted absolutely terrible.
Samurai's affection towards dropped. But since I didn't need the Mimic's affection anyway, it wasn't a big deal. I wasn't being defensive, not at all.
We climbed onto Samurai's back and headed toward Mariela.
