The battle outside the city wall had reached a new level of intensity.

Zantem, apparently tired of losing every purely physical encounter, began channeling his remaining magical power. Elental energy pulsed around his transford form as he searched for an opening.

He found it when an unconscious soldier lay nearby. His transford maw curved into a cruel smile as he released a burst of concentrated power.

But Lucien moved like lightning.

His elental sword traced a perfect arc, cutting through the magic as if it were morning mist. The explosion dissipated into nothingness, not even grazing the soldier.

'What?' Incredulity made Zantem's jaws contract. 'Another parasite capable of countering my magic?'

Fury clouded his judgnt further.

Channeling mana into his muscles, Zantem launched forward with magically enhanced speed. His claws, empowered by elental wind, cut through the air with enough force to create visible pressure waves.

That's when he saw it, Lucien's eyes began to glow with a crystalline blue light, a radiance unsettlingly reminiscent of the artromus's own eyes.

In a movent that seed to defy physics, Lucien slid under the attack like water flowing around a rock.

The sword found its mark once again, deepening the wound they'd already been working on Zantem's neck. Transparent blood flowed from the wound, the divine armor struggling to regenerate the accumulated damage.

'Enough.'

Zantem retreated, his body glowing with contained power.

He no longer cared about conserving mana.

He no longer cared about efficiency.

The 8 points he had left would be more than enough.

Energy began accumulating in his center, but this ti it was different. Three distinct types of elental mana intertwined in a matrix of destruction. The air itself began to distort around Zantem as the costly combination took shape.

Eight mana points.

A steep price for a single attack, but the satisfaction of seeing this parasite try to counter a massive explosion of three different elents would be worth every point spent.

'Try to cut this, usurper,' he thought as the power reached its critical point.

Zantem's tri-elental explosion expanded like a nova of pure destruction.

However, to his disbelief, it once again t Lucien's sword.

The blade, imbued with all four elents since its creation, barely needed a touch of Lucien's mana to activate its defensive properties.

It was as if the weapon had been specifically designed to counter this type of magical attack.

Still, Lucien didn't get overconfident.

He didn't even know the blade had this capability.

The soldiers behind him remained vulnerable, and an explosion of this magnitude could pierce his defense if he didn't apply enough power. With that concern in mind, he channeled more energy than necessary into the sword.

That's when it happened.

The veins in Lucien's arms began to glow with a bluish radiance, similar to his crystalline eyes.

A new sensation invaded him, as if his blood itself was responding to the flow of mana. It was one of the abilities that ca with the transformation, sothing the god hadn't had ti to explain in his haste.

Lucien's magical power surged, his magical damage increasing in the sa way that "Active" allowed him to exceed his strength and perception.

His mana veins, forced beyond their normal limits, channeled double the power into the sword.

The process required "blood" just like forcing perception or strength... But Lucien hadn't lost a bit of resistance to Zantem, he could pay all the resistance he wanted.

The clash between both energies created a shockwave that shook the chamber. For a mont, it seed both attacks would nullify each other.

But then Lucien's sword cut through the explosion like butter, its edge charged with amplified magical power finding once again the weak point in Zantem's neck.

And this ti was different.

The impact stripped away 280 resistance points in a single blow, more damage than he'd managed to inflict with a single blow in all the previous combat.

The wound on the artromus's neck expanded dramatically, the exposed black flesh showing the true extent of the damage.

Zantem retreated, bringing a transford claw to his neck while struggling to regenerate a wound far more severe than the previous ones. For the first ti since his transformation, sothing like fear crossed his multifaceted eyes.

Lucien observed the glow in his arms with both surprise and understanding.

This new form didn't just enhance his physical capabilities; it also allowed him to channel magical power in a completely different way. An ability that the god, in his hasty explanation, hadn't had ti to ntion.

Zantem could feel his magical power completely depleted, leaving him with only his brute strength and divine armor.

The last mana point vanished after so many failed attempts to secure the ten deaths needed.

But the parasite... the damned parasite was adapting to his transford form with alarming speed.

Zantem's active perception needed mana, not "blood" like the humans…

So now each of Lucien's movents seed more precise than the last, each strike more devastating. The sword found weak points that Zantem didn't even know he had in this new form.

The attacks beca progressively more lethal. Where before they barely managed to cut through his resistance, now each impact tore away significant chunks of his vitality.

The final blow ca like lightning.

Lucien's sword, charged with magical power amplified by his own transformation, traced a perfect arc.

This ti there was no ti to dodge, no way to deflect the attack.

The impact was devastating, 760 points of damage in a single strike.

The blade passed so close to severing his head that Zantem could feel the wind of the attack on his exposed throat.

For the first ti since adopting this monstrous form, Zantem felt sothing he believed impossible: genuine fear.

A single blow had been enough to eliminate that weak woman parasite he'd found running so carelessly.

'Easiest point in history,' he reflected with disdain. 'Didn't even have ti to defend itself. Was it damaged by Zantem already?'

He had found more humans afterward, but sothing about the situation didn't add up. By now he should have seen signs of Zantem massacring parasites, but there was no trace of...

The thought froze in his mind.

There, in the distance, a figure that made his blood run cold.

The form was similar to an artromus, but distorted, mixed with humanoid features in a way that made his mind scream that sothing was fundantally wrong.

The realization hit him like a physical blow.

Zantem had resorted to true tamorphosis. The horror of what this ant was just beginning to settle in his mind when the ntal connection finally established.

'GET DOWN HERE, HELP !' Zantem's ntal voice resonated with desperate urgency in his head. 'NOW!'
