"Once that black giant snake coils around us, I'm afraid we'll all lose our lives here!"
"But where could the treasure be?" Zhe Xiaoyu asked, to which Ye Ling shook his head, indicating that he didn't know either.
"Let's go ahead and take a look, maybe we'll find an answer ahead!" Ye Ling said.
Without hesitation, everyone followed behind Ye Ling.
Marching swiftly, Ye Ling and his companions finally crossed the valley and entered a canyon.
On both sides of the canyon, there stood a row of towering hills, and right in the center, a large stone block about three ters tall and two ters wide.
The surface of the large stone block was smooth as a mirror, without a single crack. It looked just like an ordinary boulder.
One couldn't tell what it was or even if it was just a regular stone.
Emblazoned on the stone block were three big characters: "Yanzhuang Village!"
"How could there be a village here?" Ling Feng furrowed his brow and said, while the others were equally perplexed.
Ye Ling took a deep breath, "Since we've co this far, maybe the treasure is buried right here in Yanzhuang Village! We should get started and find the treasure sooner rather than later!"
"Yeah, I agree!" Gao Quan nodded in agreent.
Zhe Xiaoyu nodded and said, "What are we waiting for? Let's hurry into Yanzhuang Village!"
With those words, the group slowly walked in. Yanzhuang Village looked desolate with no buildings in sight.
Ye Ling took steps toward Yanzhuang Village, but he suddenly stopped in his tracks, his face showing a touch of surprise as he saw a little boy carrying a heavy burden.
The weighty shoulder pole pressed down on the little boy, making him pant, yet he hobbled forward with perseverance.
Zhan ngqi saw this scene and compassion washed over her beautiful face.
She walked up, crouched beside the little boy, and asked softly, "Little friend, why are you out here alone? Where are your parents?"
The little boy looked at Zhan ngqi, and a wary expression instantly appeared on his innocent face: "What do you want? I'm not telling you!"
Zhan ngqi was startled, not expecting a five-year-old child to be so cautious, and awkwardly smiled: "I, I an no harm, rest assured. I just want to help you with your load!"
The little boy studied Zhan ngqi with disbelief. But as Zhan ngqi, like a magician, pulled out snacks from the Qiankun Ring, the boy's cautious eyes suddenly lit up.
"You, you're really willing to give snacks?" The little boy blinked, looking at Zhan ngqi with anticipation.
Zhan ngqi smiled gently: "Of course, I also have duck leg here. Duck leg is delicious. Try it, it's really good!"
"Really?" The boy's eyes shone brightly, but as though rembering sothing, he carefully took it and then packed it away, speaking to Zhan ngqi in a childlike voice.
"Thank you, sister. But I've decided to share the duck leg and snacks with my sister, if that's okay? She hasn't eaten yet."
A look of sympathy instantly crossed Zhan ngqi's face, and she nodded.
The little boy grinned, then passed his snacks to Zhan ngqi, and turned to walk over to a little girl, taking her arm and heading into Yanzhuang Village together.
Gao Quan shouldered his carrying pole and followed the little boy into Yanzhuang Village, where an eerie silence prevailed, devoid even of the usual insects chirping or birds calling.
About half an hour after entering Yanzhuang Village, Gao Quan looked around carefully before he turned to Ye Ling and asked in a low voice, "Boss, do you really think there could be treasure in this place?"
Ye Ling shook his head with a smile, "I'm not sure about that myself; let's just take it one step at a ti!"
The little boy led Ye Ling and the others back to his ho, which could hardly be called a house but more resembled a crude thatched hut.
The roof of this thatched hut was made of mud, and its walls were covered in dust.
When they entered, a scent suggestive of decay hit their noses, and Ye Ling and his companions frowned as they walked inside.
After entering the house, Ye Ling saw a dried-up well in a corner of the room, its water yellowed and even looking like it was made of yellow soil.
"Brothers and sisters, please have a seat, I'll go get so snacks for my sister."
Soon after, an elderly woman with a limp erged with a little girl. She was taken aback upon seeing the attire of Ye Ling and his group.
Ye Ling was also startled; he noticed that although the elderly woman's clothes were worn, they were very clean and tidy, without a hint of dirt or disorder.
Furthermore, the elderly woman wasn't very old, appearing at most in her sixties or seventies, and although a long section of her hair was white, it was neatly combed and well-kept.
"Auntie, you're a villager from Yanzhuang Village, aren't you?" Ye Ling asked with a gentle smile, politely inquiring.
The elderly woman seed a bit restrained as she nodded, her expression showing she had thought of sothing, "Are you also here for treasure hunting on Spirit Demon Island?"
A glint suddenly flashed in Ye Ling's eyes; the aning in the elderly woman's words suggested that there might be others who had co here in search of treasure?
Ye Ling hastily asked, "Auntie, do you know if anyone else has co here in search of treasure? Have there been strangers who visited this village?"
"Yes, there have been outsiders, but not many. It's been two years since the last outsiders ca to our village," she replied, nodding.
Looking sowhat puzzled at Ye Ling, she asked, "What is it, are you looking for soone?"
Ye Ling waved his hand dismissively, "No, we're just here to look around."
The elderly woman nodded in understanding, "I see you're quite young, it's good to co here for a visit, but don't venture into the deep mountains. Several treasure hunting teams have gone in before, and none have co out."
Her words cast a whiff of danger over Ye Ling.
It seems that there's so mystery in this deep mountain!
"Brother, you eat too," a sweet, milky voice suddenly drew the attention of Ye Ling and the others.
Following the sound, Ye Ling saw the little boy holding his sister's arm, stuffing a roasted duck leg into the little girl's hand.
With a grateful expression, the little girl bit into the duck leg before handing it back to the boy.
The little boy swallowed hard, patting his deliberately bloated belly, "Brother is full, you eat the rest, it's really tasty."
The little girl nodded and began to eat voraciously, causing Ye Ling and his companions to wear a bittersweet smile.
