Chapter 991: Chapter 991: This Path Is Not Smooth

On the fifth day, the city was plastered with Su Yongzhen’s image, labeled as an extrely dangerous individual.

The Public Security Bureau had already issued a warrant and a reward notice, and police were deployed all over the city, with reinforcents temporarily transferred from other cities as needed.

Local TV news repeatedly broadcast Su Yongzhen’s image, emphasizing his extre danger.

During this ti, the underground criminal forces kept a low profile, with not a single cri reported. Everyone knew that inciting trouble during such tense tis was a deathwish.

In a hotel, Xiang Yu quietly reclined on a sofa, eyes closed. In front of him, on the coffee table, lay the warrant and reward notice concerning Su Yongzhen.

Just then, Tie Zhuzi and Xiaoxuan entered the room.

“Brother Yu, he’s been safely sent away; by now, he should have arrived,” Tie Zhuzi said.

Xiaoxuan sat beside Xiang Yu, looking at his exhausted appearance and felt sowhat sad. He then said, “Brother, don’t bla yourself too much. He was quite cheerful when he left, seed to have planned it for so ti.”

Xiang Yu nodded without speaking, knowing Su Yongzhen well as soone restless and unruly.

Perhaps when he killed Wang Qian, he was already prepared to leave this place.

However, the place he’s heading to has a harsh environnt; he had been there before during a mission.

But for those wanting to mix in shady affairs, who are competent, that place is paradise, as it lacks proper laws and organized enforcent teams.

Yet, relatively speaking, it’s also very dangerous as crises loom everywhere.

“Have Wang Ze and the others returned?” Xiang Yu asked.

Tie Zhuzi nodded and replied, “All mbers of the Heavenly Dragon Gang have withdrawn. They arrived at City Two just yesterday.”

Xiang Yu responded with a sound, choosing not to elaborate further. The current city was under tight police control.

Worrying that the brothers of the Heavenly Dragon Gang might encounter trouble, he arranged for their early departure.

Sun Bo stayed behind to continue developing the business, as he had not been involved in the underground dealings, thus the impact wasn’t significant.

This is why Xiang Yu separated business affairs from underground matters.

In the afternoon, Sun Bo arrived at the hotel. Although responsible for business, he had so understanding of underground affairs.

He already knew that Su Yongzhen had left, feeling sowhat uneasy.

After all, it was he and Su Yongzhen who ca here together, yet Su Yongzhen was the first to go abroad.

“Brother Yu, don’t worry about . The city’s developnt environnt is great and because of this disturbance, all forces have beco low-key. I want to utilize this opportunity for serious developnt,” Sun Bo said.

Xiang Yu was confident in Sun Bo’s capabilities, lightly smiling as he said, “Stay cautious here. Call directly if anything arises. I will leave here tonight, so don’t bother coming over.”

Sun Bo thought for a mont, then nodded. They discussed a few other matters before Sun Bo departed.

At nine in the evening, Xiang Yu and his group set out.

As they drove through the first intersection, a traffic officer asked Tie Zhuzi for his license and checked if he had been drinking.

It was all superficial; their main intention was to scrutinize the occupants of the vehicle.

At three consecutive intersections, they were investigated, and upon nearly exiting the city, they were stopped again.

The traffic officer ticulously checked Tie Zhuzi’s license and inspected their vehicle.

“Is there a problem?” Tie Zhuzi asked irritably, given it was the fourth ti during their journey.

“Where are you three headed?” The officer asked with a side glance.

“None of your business. Move aside.” Tie Zhuzi said, ready to drive away.

The traffic officer sneered, “You wouldn’t dare leave without my word, would you?”

Xiang Yu, from the car, frowned, noticing a traffic officer stopping another vehicle in the distance. The driver discreetly handed over a hundred yuan, passing without issue.

Witnessing this, Xiang Yu felt a surge of disgust, realizing the officers were seeking kickbacks.

“Move aside, we have things to do.” Tie Zhuzi said with impatience.

The officer, seeing Tie Zhuzi’s urgency, lit up a cigarette and leisurely seated himself in front of the car, blocking the way.

Other police officers watched without concern, smirking at the scene.

This was the city’s last outbound road, relatively remote compared to the city center.

High officials were far away and many people left the city never to return. Hence, the officers sched to extort so money here.

With the city tightly regulated, nobody cared if they siphoned off a little profit.

“Drive through,” Xiang Yu calmly instructed from the back seat.

Tie Zhuzi was montarily stunned, glancing back at Xiang Yu to ensure he had heard correctly, then stepped on the accelerator.

The car nudged the officer from behind, pushing him several ters, but the speed being low, he wasn’t injured.

Pause for a mont; Tie Zhuzi stepped harder on the gas, accelerating toward the officer.

The officer, seeing this unexpected scene, quickly jumped aside, rolled over twice, and ended up hitting his head.

Tie Zhuzi drove straight through the barrier and sped away.

Only when Tie Zhuzi and his group vanished did the officers react and rush over.

“Chase them,” soone shouted, leading them to jump into their vehicles in pursuit of Xiang Yu.

But as the police cars were official vehicles, they couldn’t match Xiang Yu’s speed. After half an hour, they failed to even spot Xiang Yu’s tail lights and returned.

Driving, Tie Zhuzi watched Xiang Yu in the rearview mirror, seeing him lie down, seemingly asleep.

He and Xiaoxuan exchanged a glance, both sighing without speaking.

Su Yongzhen was Xiang Yu’s brother. With Su Yongzhen leaving under such accusations, Xiang Yu felt much guilt and sha.

Maybe it was Su Yongzhen’s own choice, but Xiang Yu couldn’t shake the unease in his heart.

When they returned to City Two, it was midnight. Without further words, they went back to the hotel to sleep.

That night, Xiang Yu slept uneasily, dreaming of his old comrades. They all looked at him with strange, judging eyes.

In his dream, Xiang Yu tried to explain, but they wouldn’t listen and left with scornful glances.

When Xiang Yu woke, the dream lingered in his mind, refusing to dissipate…
