Chapter 974: Chapter 974: Investigating the Evidence of Murder

Sun Bo wasn’t stupid; quite the opposite, he was a clever man. Regarding Su Yongzhen’s matter, he had noticed it all along. He had tried to dissuade him, but Su Yongzhen had made up his mind and there was nothing he could do.

Therefore, facing Xiang Yu today, Sun Bo felt deeply guilty. Xiang Yu had entrusted Su Yongzhen to his care, and he hadn’t done a good job protecting him.

“It’s not your fault,” Xiang Yu shook his head and said.

The group discussed the recent situation for a while, and Sun Bo briefed Xiang Yu on the current state of economic developnt.

Although their growth here was rapid, they had only arrived recently and still had a few competitors in the market.

But Sun Bo was brimming with confidence. Despite his young age, he was already a seasoned player in the business world.

Business conflicts were far from simple, sothing Xiang Yu wasn’t very adept at, so he had delegated all of it to Sun Bo.

After giving instructions, Sun Bo hurriedly left again. The company was in a crucial developnt phase, and he needed to personally oversee every critical step.

The matters concerning the second city’s branch were fully entrusted to Long Wu, so he wasn’t worried about that.

When Sun Bo left, it was already seven o’clock in the evening. Wang Ze took Xiang Yu and the others for a spin around the city and had so street food.

Judging by the current atmosphere, police enforcent had been particularly strict recently. By now, it was already late, yet they hadn’t clocked off.

After dinner, it was eight o’clock at night. Xiang Yu asked Wang Ze to take them to the scene of Su Yongzhen’s cri.

The location was indeed remote, wrapped in darkness all around.

“Why would they co here?” Xiang Yu got out of the car and looked around at the surroundings as he spoke.

Wang Ze thought for a mont before replying, “Those spoiled brats followed a little girl here, intending to take advantage of the darkness to assault her.”

Wang Ze didn’t elaborate further. Everyone there was smart enough to grasp the situation with just a few words.

Xiang Yu stood there, surveying the area, then walked towards the end of the street. There were no caras anywhere along the way.

At the intersection, the sole cara was already broken and unusable. Xiang Yu followed the road, trying to imagine Su Yongzhen’s ntal state at the ti and which path he would have taken.

After exiting the alley, Xiang Yu arrived at the main road, where a functioning cara was installed ten ters away.

“Let’s go check that out,” Xiang Yu said, heading in that direction.

It turned out to belong to a small eatery, installed solely to deter theft.

Entering the shop, Xiang Yu approached the owner and said, “We’re police. We need to check your surveillance footage.”

The owner evidently looked annoyed and retorted, “Aren’t you guys done yet? Soone’s already been here once, and now you want to co again.”

Though reluctant, the owner still led Xiang Yu and the others to the front desk to check the caras.

Xiang Yu was sowhat unsettled internally. What he had been thinking about had clearly also occurred to the police.

At the counter, an employee pulled up the footage. Xiang Yu watched it carefully.

Around nine o’clock, Su Yongzhen and seven others, all masked, hurriedly ran past the scene.

Because the cara wasn’t high-definition, only vague outlines of a group could be seen—no clear view of their faces.

Seeing this, Xiang Yu let out a sigh of relief and rushed to the next location with caras.

Their goal was to swiftly destroy evidence of Su Yongzhen’s cri. Although Xiang Yu knew he shouldn’t be doing this, the matter concerned Su Yongzhen’s future, and he felt obliged to help.

anwhile, Wang Ze showed signs of reluctance. He had always been impatient with Su Yongzhen.

Xiang Yu could sense Wang Ze’s attitude. Smiling faintly, he said to him, “Su Yongzhen is our brother. He has his own choices in life that we have no right to interfere with. No matter what he does, as his brothers, our job is to help him succeed.”

Wang Ze sighed and nodded, “Don’t worry, big brother, I’ve figured it out.”

Xiang Yu didn’t say much more, leading the group to continue their pursuit.

At a crossroads, they paused.

“Brother Yu, how about we ask Su Yongzhen which route he actually took?” Tie Zhuzi suggested.

Wang Ze nodded in agreent. Wandering aimlessly was no match for asking Su Yongzhen directly where he had gone.

Xiang Yu stood there, carefully examining the surroundings. He noticed a venue not far away.

The place had cars and electric scooters parked outside, bustling with activity.

Standing in Su Yongzhen’s shoes, Xiang Yu thought deeply for a mont before saying, “They went there at the ti.”

After speaking, Xiang Yu led the way toward the venue. Wang Ze and the others didn’t understand how he figured it out but followed him anyway.

From the outside, the venue’s décor was unremarkable. But upon entering, the deafening music imdiately got under their skin, compelling a desire to dance.

Tie Zhuzi frequented such places and was already accustod to the music, showing signs of enjoynt.

Wang Ze, however, frowned after entering. The music was too loud for his liking, making him uncomfortable.

Xiang Yu wasn’t there to enjoy the ambiance; he was hunting for evidence. He headed straight to the second floor.

On reaching the upper level, he saw two n questioning the staff.

“We’re here to investigate. Please cooperate,” one of them said.

“Sorry, without the boss’s permission, we can’t let you see the footage,” the staff explained firmly.

“This is urgent. The matter is serious,” one of the n insisted anxiously.

The staff, however, replied slowly, “You have your procedures, and we have our rules. Without the boss’s say-so, no one can access it.”

Xiang Yu imdiately recognized the two n—they were plainclothes police officers. Clearly, they also wanted to access the footage.

At that mont, a plump middle-aged man walked up, exuding a rogue deanor that suggested he wasn’t a decent character.

“What’s the matter?” The man swaggered over, belly protruded, and asked arrogantly.

“Boss, these two gentlen claim to be police officers and want to see our surveillance footage,” the staff said.

The man’s eyes filled with disdain as he looked at the officers and said arrogantly, “We run a proper business here. You can’t just barge in randomly. If you want sothing, it’ll cost you.” He raised his chin as he spoke.

Clearly, he didn’t take the two lower-ranked officers seriously.

“You… You’d better cooperate, or face serious consequences,” one of the officers snapped angrily.

The man snorted coldly and replied, “I’m a law-abiding citizen and I’ll cooperate with work, but just because you say you’re cops doesn’t an you are. You say you want to search, you search? Do you even have a warrant?”

The two officers exchanged glances. They were in plain clothes and didn’t carry a warrant. The man refusing access was technically within his rights.

Besides, most of the bosses here had connections to the underworld and held a natural disdain for police…
