Chapter 945: Chapter 945: Xiang Yu Arrives at the Train Station
When Xiang Yu shouted the word “move out,” a surge of heroic sentint welled up in his heart. How familiar this scene was—back when the team captain led them, he had shouted just like this. At this mont, Xiang Yu truly missed those days.
Standing there, Xiang Yu spaced out for quite a while, to the point that Tie Zhuzi and Gao Zhitao called out to him multiple tis but he didn’t hear them.
“Brother Yu, are you alright?” Tie Zhuzi asked with concern.
“As a national security personnel, the pressure is overwhelming for ,” Xiang Yu replied solemnly.
Gao Zhitao hurriedly interjected, “Oh, co off it! I was just joking, and you’re already obsessed with the idea. If you’re national security, I must be the director of the National Security Bureau!”
“Quit bragging,” Tie Zhuzi slapped Gao Zhitao lightly.
Gao Zhitao imdiately looked around anxiously. Luckily, all the police officers nearby had already left. If they sohow heard their “director” being bullied like this, Gao Zhitao’s image in their minds would be thoroughly ruined.
“Xiang Yu, are you for real? Why on earth have these terrorists co to our place? Why are they targeting the train station?” Gao Zhitao asked curiously.
“They’re here to kill you because you killed one of their mbers,” Xiang Yu said with a helpless shake of his head.
“What? Kill ?” Gao Zhitao exclaid, his mouth agape, only to crack a bitter smile a second later while looking at Tie Zhuzi. “Damn it, I must be really sothing, huh? I actually provoked these bastards to travel thousands of miles just to kill . Problem is, when did I ever cross them?”
“The guy who planted the bomb in the Shopping Mall Tower last ti was from their organization,” Xiang Yu explained.
Gao Zhitao finally understood. His eyes widened as he blurted out, “Damn it! That guy was obviously killed by you! Since when did I beco the murderer? No way, I’m not taking the fall for this. I’m going to tell them you’re the real culprit…”
Before Gao Zhitao could finish his rant, Tie Zhuzi started poking him with his fingers.
Gao Zhitao gritted his teeth in pain and eventually had no choice but to admit defeat.
“Considering how serious this matter is, I think the best thing to do is to consult my grandfather quickly. After all, the military shares so responsibility here,” Gao Zhitao proposed.
But Xiang Yu shook his head and replied, “You know your grandfather’s temper. It’s better not to alarm him with this. If things spiral out of control, it’ll backfire.”
Gao Zhitao thought for a while before nodding in agreent. If Gao Mantang were to learn about this, he’d mobilize the whole military and start a city-wide search.
That would undoubtedly panic the city’s citizens and cause significant consequences.
It would be even more humiliating if they failed to capture the terrorists.
“So, what do we do? Should we head back to the hospital? Old Tie, I need to pee,” Gao Zhitao said.
“Get lost!” Tie Zhuzi barked.
Since it was already confird that the terrorists’ first target was the train station, Xiang Yu couldn’t stay idle.
He had to go to the train station himself to feel assured. But given that Gao Zhitao was still a primary target, Xiang Yu was also worried about the possibility of simultaneous attacks elsewhere.
After considering his options, Xiang Yu decided to take Gao Zhitao with him to the scene.
In the car, Gao Zhitao described the train station’s layout and provided so general details.
This kid had grown up in the city and spent ti wandering around aimlessly when he had nothing else to do.
The train station had been one of his regular stomping grounds, so he was quite familiar with it.
After giving his rundown, Gao Zhitao suddenly launched into a boastful story. He started talking about how when he was fifteen, he had a wild encounter with a young girl in the train station bathroom.
He relished his retelling of the mory, completely absorbed in the mont.
Gao Zhitao talked on and on endlessly, until he noticed that Xiang Yu wasn’t the least bit interested. Only then did he say, “Xiang Yu, are you sexually frigid or sothing? How co you’re not a little lustful?”
The mont those words left his mouth, Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan, sitting up front, nearly burst out laughing.
Back in the day, Tie Zhuzi had been a naive, innocent kid, whereas Xiang Yu had already earned the title of a brazen big brother.
He used to drag them out for wild adventures, often involving so inappropriate mischief. It was by hanging around Xiang Yu that Tie Zhuzi gradually honed his skills at picking up won, eventually becoming the person he was now.
Now soone had the nerve to suggest that Xiang Yu wasn’t into won? Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan couldn’t hold their laughter back.
Still wearing a stern expression, Xiang Yu solemnly nodded and said, “I’m not interested in won. n like , upright gentlen, are almost extinct.”
Tie Zhuzi couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Having spent so much ti around Xiang Yu, he knew the man well enough to understand that calling him an “upright gentleman” utterly redefined the term.
Gao Zhitao figured Xiang Yu was exaggerating a little, so he didn’t press further.
By the ti they reached the train station, it was already close to ten in the evening.
There were still crowds of people, carrying large bags, rushing about. Most sat in the waiting rooms with exhausted looks on their faces.
This was also the ti when the station staff were most relaxed, eager to finish their shifts and head ho after a tiring day.
“Look over there!” Gao Zhitao suddenly exclaid as he sat in the car.
Everyone turned to follow the direction he was pointing, but there was nothing unusual in sight.
“What’s the deal?” Xiang Yu asked with a frown.
“That chick over there is stunning!” Gao Zhitao said with an infatuated expression.
“Oh, shut up!” Xiang Yu couldn’t resist giving Gao Zhitao a hard smack on the head.
Everyone was focused and vigilantly scanning the surroundings, yet this guy was checking out girls. Totally unforgivable!
After smacking him, Xiang Yu found himself sneaking another glance in the sa direction, though he wouldn’t admit it. The woman in question was dressed plainly, but her figure and looks were undeniable.
As Xiang Yu stared at her, sothing about her seed oddly familiar. A closer look revealed the unexpected truth—wasn’t this Han Rui?
Han Rui was dressed inconspicuously, carrying a travel bag as she looked around blankly, seemingly searching for sothing. She blended in perfectly with the train station crowd.
If Xiang Yu hadn’t known her personally, he would have thought she was just another commuter waiting for soone.
“I can’t take it! I’m going after her,” Gao Zhitao said, his eyes glued to Han Rui in fascination.
Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan also noticed Han Rui but stayed quiet. Both knew Han Rui harbored feelings for Xiang Yu.
Han Rui stood for a while before taking out her phone and making a call.
No sooner had she pulled out her phone than Xiang Yu’s own phone rang.
“Could this really be a coincidence?” Gao Zhitao asked skeptically, throwing Xiang Yu a suspicious look.
Clearing his throat, Xiang Yu didn’t reply. Instead, he grabbed his phone and got out of the car.
“I’m a hundred ters behind you. Is there sothing going on?” Xiang Yu asked.
Without turning around, Han Rui replied, “I noticed the station is suddenly full of new faces. Their movents are strange, like sothing isn’t right. Judging by their skill, they don’t seem like ordinary people.”
“I see. They’re all police officers. You can retreat now and avoid exposing yourself,” Xiang Yu said.
“What? Police officers?” Han Rui exclaid, clearly shocked…
