Chapter 930: Chapter 930: The Showdown Between Two Forces

Director He felt deeply embarrassed when he saw the other party still ignoring him. He stood there, unsure whether to leave or stay, his face flushed red.

“Sorry, ti’s up,” Zhang Dacheng said as he took the lead, ready to move forward.

At that mont, the police grew agitated. Their solemn expressions turned severe, with so even drawing their handguns.

“What are you trying to do, force your way into the police bureau?” soone shouted.

Zhang Dacheng ignored the commotion. His mission was to take Huang Yi away, and anyone daring to obstruct him would face consequences.

“Step aside, or we won’t hold back,” Zhang Dacheng said coldly.

No sooner had he finished speaking than the soldiers behind him raised their assault rifles, aiming them at the police officers.

These were real bullets, real guns—despite being in the Public Security Bureau, the police’s own workspace. Yet, facing Zhang Dacheng’s forces left them visibly unsettled.

Zhang Dacheng had already issued his order: if there was any attempt to block his operation, he would act decisively.

At this tense juncture, soone calmly stepped out of the elevator.

The newcor had a solemn expression and exuded an aura of authority, clearly accustod to holding a high position.

“What’s going on?” the person asked sharply upon seeing the chaos.

“Director Huang, these soldiers want to see you, and we held them here,” a police officer hurriedly fawning interjected.

Huang Yi’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing this. Could it be that Gao Mantang had uncovered his plans?

Still, this was the police bureau—his territory—he remained confident.

“What do you intend to do?” Huang Yi asked darkly, his face clouded as he stood his ground.

“Arrest him,” Zhang Dacheng commanded briskly upon identifying Huang Yi as his target.

The surrounding police officers grew more restless—these soldiers had the audacity to arrest a bureau director?

“What do you think you’re doing? Let go! Soone, stop them!” Huang Yi, panicking as the soldiers actually seized him, protested vehently.

The police were visibly eager, ready to intervene and block the soldiers. But the troops remained guarded, their assault rifles loaded and safeties off.

Zhang Dacheng understood the stakes. His mission was solely to capture Huang Yi; he wasn’t here to escalate the conflict.

Once his n had detained Huang Yi, they started retreating. The police, densely packed, pressured them relentlessly but refrained from making the first move.

Huang Yi shouted in frustration at the hesitant police officers, “What are you doing standing there? Act now!”

His furious commands galvanized the police into action again, drawing tighter encirclents.

After all, this was the Public Security Bureau—they significantly outnumbered the soldiers. While they lacked comparable firepower, their numbers gave them overwhelming superiority.

Witnessing this, Zhang Dacheng imdiately drew his handgun. The soldiers clustered tightly into a circle, shielding Zhang Dacheng and Huang Yi at the center.

“Release ! Or you won’t make it out of here!” Huang Yi cried out defiantly.

Zhang Dacheng wasn’t one to compromise; this was a direct order from Gao Mantang, and he would carry it out to the letter.

“Step aside, or don’t bla us for the consequences,” Zhang Dacheng warned, cocking his handgun and disengaging the safety.

As the sound of the safety clicked, everyone braced themselves for combat. After all, this was exactly the kind of scenario they trained for daily.

Although the police had numbers on their side, many were non-combat administrative staff, including female officers. Their morale couldn’t quite match the soldiers’.

The police officers began to waver again. Huang Yi might be their superior, but their own lives were at stake. None were willing to sacrifice themselves for the job.

“Move!” Zhang Dacheng suddenly bellowed at the throng blocking his way.

The police exchanged uncertain glances. Hesitation spread among them.

Seeing them unmoved, Zhang Dacheng strode up to one officer, pressed his gun against the man’s temple, and said, “I’ll count to three. One…”

“I’ll move!”

The officer quickly stepped aside. As he moved, so did the rest, parting in a wave to create a path.

Zhang Dacheng took the lead and marched onward, his soldiers thodically retreating in formation.

This scene left Huang Yi deeply unsettled. Judging by their operation, Gao Mantang already knew about his plot to murder soone.

If they managed to take Huang Yi back to Gao Mantang, it would be worse than death. Huang Yi began trembling as these thoughts raced through his mind.

Carefully surveying his surroundings, he sought an opportunity to escape. But with over two hundred soldiers around, slipping away wouldn’t be easy.

Leading the way with his gun brandished, Zhang Dacheng reached the main hall when a wave of police cars suddenly arrived.

The vehicles screeched to a halt, and ard paramilitary officers poured out.

The paramilitary squads swiftly took up tactical positions, completely encircling the police bureau.

Seeing this, Huang Yi’s spirits lifted. He was the bureau’s director—attempting to arrest him so openly was laughable.

“Listen up! Put down your weapons and walk out with your hands up!” soone outside shouted.

Leading the retreat, Zhang Dacheng frowned at the sight of ard paramilitary personnel outside, their weapons ready. His advantages had now disappeared.

Signaling his team to hold their position, Zhang Dacheng holstered his firearm and strode outside alone.

Standing tall and composed at the entrance, Zhang Dacheng declared, “I am Zhang Dacheng, Battalion Commander of the Third Regint. I am here under direct orders to apprehend the suspect. Stand down imdiately!”

From the paramilitary contingent stepped a man of imposing stature—a tall, burly officer with a hardened expression. It was none other than Fang Shichao, commander of the paramilitary division.

“Show your credentials,” Fang Shichao barked, stepping forward.

Zhang Dacheng promptly produced his ID and held it up. “We are under strict orders to detain the suspect. Don’t obstruct us,” he affird.

“Strict orders? From whom? Who has the authority to arrest a bureau director like this?” Fang Shichao sneered in response.

“That’s none of your concern. I suggest you clear the way,” Zhang Dacheng replied flatly.

“What a joke! This is the police bureau, not your military base. You want to arrest our director and demand we step aside? Utterly presumptuous!” Fang Shichao retorted, unyielding.

Years ago, when Huang Yi served as chief of the municipal bureau, he had personally promoted Fang Shichao. It was clear that Fang belonged to Huang’s faction.

Seeing Fang Shichao in charge brought a smile to Huang Yi’s face. It seed the subordinate he once appointed was about to prove his worth.

“Shichao! I’m here! Get them to release now!” Huang Yi shouted eagerly from inside…
