The Commander of Five revealed his situation, and everyone else glared at him with disdain.
Ailock looked at the Commander of Five with puzzlent and said, "You have a heart condition? I’ve never heard you ntion it before."
"To be honest, sir, I just found out recently," the Commander of Five replied with much guilt.
"In that case, just go ho and rest. I’ll temporarily delegate your military duties to soone else," Ailock said, also sowhat angrily.
After years of nurturing military strength, now that it’s ti to deploy him, he tries to escape the battlefield. Anyone would be infuriated.
"Even though I can’t lead the troops into battle, I can still offer advice here," the Commander of Five said with an awkward smile.
Ailock couldn’t care less about him and turned to the others instead, asking, "Who is willing to go south and take charge of the situation?"
The eight commanders exchanged glances. Finally, the Commander of One stepped forward and said, "Sir, give this mission, and I assure you it will be completed."
Ailock hesitated upon seeing him step forward. The Commander of One was soone he had personally trained, and whenever there was a situation, he always thought of the First Army first.
Now that he was sending him, Ailock felt sowhat reluctant, especially given his unstable relationship with Rolaff recently; there were many areas where he still needed the First Army.
"Is there anyone else willing to go?" Ailock looked around and asked.
No one spoke up, bowing their heads. At that mont, the Commander of Three wanted to say sothing to Ailock.
Seeing this, Ailock quickly said, "Commander of One, this ti the entire mission is entrusted to you. You must complete it."
The Commander of One stood upright and saluted Ailock.
"Sir, if I can’t complete the mission, I won’t return," Commander of One said with firm determination.
"Do your best," Ailock responded, sowhat moved.
They finally decided to send the Commander of One and the First Army to the south, assisted by the Eighth Army, while others provided various resources.
After the eting concluded, the Commander of Five breathed a long sigh of relief.
Thankfully, Ailock hadn’t sent him; he still had important things to do. If this business succeeded, his future would be bright.
Originally, the First Army was responsible for Ailock’s safety, but now they were deployed to support the south. Thus, Ailock entrusted his security to the Commander of Three.
Around seven o’clock in the evening, Ailock called Xiang Yu on his phone.
"How is the preparation going?" Ailock asked.
"I’ve received all the weapons. Don’t worry, as long as we follow the plan tomorrow, nothing will go wrong," Xiang Yu replied confidently.
"Good. Once this cos through, I’ll have to properly thank you," Ailock promised.
"Let’s talk after the success," Xiang Yu said and hung up imdiately.
At that mont, Xiang Yu was discussing plans with Wu Jing and the others.
"Brother Yu, if we take action here, won’t it be too close to Ailock’s security detail? What if they rush in?" Wu Jing pointed at the map on the table and asked.
"Don’t worry about that. The Third Army is in charge of Ailock’s safety now, and I’ve already t with their commander," Xiang Yu said confidently.
Wu Jing nodded and said nothing more.
At that mont, Xiaoxuan frowned and said, "Bro, I feel like we’re missing sothing."
"What?" Xiang Yu asked.
Xiaoxuan thought for a mont and said, "We’re scheming against Rolaff now. Do you think they might also be plotting against us?"
Xiang Yu paused and nodded, "Right. Rolaff must have sensed sothing. His quick agreent might an he has other plans."
Xiang Yu thought for a mont but couldn’t figure out any other issues and shook his head, "Let’s not worry about them for now. Adapt to the situation tomorrow, and call if there’s any problem."
Wu Jing and Xiaoxuan exchanged glances and nodded without speaking further.
"Zhuzi, let’s go," Xiang Yu said and walked towards the outside.
Tie Zhuzi chuckled and followed closely behind Xiang Yu.
Usually, in situations like this, Xiang Yu would only take Xiaoxuan along, as he was more inconspicuous and wouldn’t attract attention, while Tie Zhuzi was so large and noticeable that he left a strong impression on people.
But now, Xiang Yu wanted him around, which excited Tie Zhuzi imnsely.
"Brother Yu, aren’t we sticking to the original plan of hiding outside?" Tie Zhuzi asked, sowhat puzzled.
"Xiaoxuan is right; I feel like I’m missing sothing. We’ll stay at the presidential residence tonight," Xiang Yu said with a frown.
After all, this was a bit rushed. He hadn’t thoroughly investigated Rolaff’s side. If given ten days or half a month, he would be confident in his preparation.
The following morning, the sun rose as usual, and the city remained calm.
At Ailock’s residence, many people were busy; so were wiping tables, others were laying carpets, as if expecting so important guests.
"Everything must be ready before six in the morning. Hurry up," One’s secretary commanded.
The clock struck six precisely, and everyone hastily packed up their tools and left.
Ailock also ca out of his room and called his secretary, "How’s everything prepared?"
The secretary stood solemnly in front of Ailock, "Rest assured, sir, everything is ready."
Ailock nodded, then returned to his room to freshen up and have breakfast.
anwhile, in his office, Rolaff paced back and forth, with the Commander of Five standing in the center.
"Sir, it’s about ti to set off," the Commander of Five reminded him.
Rolaff checked his watch and nodded, "How’s your side getting along?"
"Everything’s ready. Once the ti cos, I’ll act imdiately," the Commander of Five assured.
Now was the mont that would decide the nation’s fate and likewise determine their individual futures.
Last night, Rolaff had already obtained Ailock’s Defense Diagram and passed it to the Commander of Five.
The Commander of Five was shocked to receive the Defense Diagram, knowing that protecting the First was of utmost importance. Only soone very close to the First could have such comprehensive details.
"Sir, don’t worry. With around, this will be a success," the Commander of Five promised.
Rolaff nodded and patted the Commander of Five on the shoulder, "Go get ready."
After the Commander of Five left, Rolaff gathered those going with them, discussed briefly, and then prepared to depart.
Before leaving, Rolaff’s secretary first called Ailock’s secretary to report the situation.
By then, Ailock was already seated in the hall, waiting, with a barely noticeable cold gleam in his eyes.
Ailock sent a text ssage to Xiang Yu: They’re here...
