Capítulo 1495: Chapter 1496: Zhong Min’s Doubts
She didn’t know where the problem was, but there was a strange feeling in her heart. Just then, the computer emitted a beeping sound.
She knew it was the photo sent by her godfather.
At that mont, she felt extrely lost. Her base had been blown up, so of her brothers were killed on the spot, while others were killed yesterday.
Now she felt like a loner. She didn’t rush to check whose files these were, instead just lay there quietly.
Suddenly the phone rang, she picked it up, glanced at it, and directly hung up.
The call was from Xia Cheng, and now she sowhat regretted having called him.
A few minutes later, the phone rang again, still Xia Cheng.
She picked it up and pleaded, “I beg you, can you stop calling ?”
Xia Cheng was stunned for a mont before he said, “Xiao Min, do you not like anymore? Have you fallen for soone else? Tell who he is.”
Zhong Min knew that if she didn’t tell Xia Cheng, he would be relentless. So she said, “I have fallen for soone else. His na is Xiang Yu. Now are you satisfied? Goodbye.”
After saying that, Zhong Min hung up the phone. She looked at the phone with so horror, and after waiting for several minutes without it ringing again, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It was then that she rembered what she had just said. ntioning Xiang Yu’s na had been unintentional.
After all these years, she hadn’t forgotten Xiang Yu in her heart and felt a deep guilt.
Shaking her head to dismiss those thoughts, she stood up and went to sit by the computer.
She opened the email, and the first thing that caught her eye was a person’s photo. She recognized the man; it was a photo of Rumus, the Commander-in-Chief of the Military Region.
Below was so basic information about him, as well as the mission requirents.
When she saw this mission, Zhong Min started to have doubts. She grew up following Commander Cao.
She only knew that her organization was a rcenary group, and the group didn’t partake in any political or economic issues. As long as soone paid them, they would carry out missions.
Like other rcenary groups, there was no difference.
But now she suddenly felt it wasn’t that simple. The military couldn’t have attacked their base without reason and captured them.
Now Commander Cao was asking her to investigate Rumus, clearly intending to take action against him.
Attacking soone in the military without cause, especially a senior military officer, wasn’t sothing a rcenary organization could do.
“Could he be deceiving ?” Zhong Min suddenly had this thought.
But she quickly shook her head with a bitter smile, thinking it was impossible. She had grown up with Commander Cao and believed she understood him deeply.
After going through the mission from start to finish, she had a plan in mind.
But now she was alone. If she had to do this mission by herself, although she could complete it, it would inevitably take a lot of ti.
Now she hated those military people. Once she figured out Rumus’s situation, she would be the first to apply to eliminate him.
At this mont, she thought of Cheng Wulan. If she could borrow so people from Cheng Wulan, it might work.
With that in mind, she took out her phone and made a call.
anwhile, Cheng Wulan had just finished dining at Xiang Yu’s place and was now sitting on the sofa chatting.
Seeing Zhong Min’s call, she quickly picked it up.
“Xiao Min, what’s up?” Cheng Wulan said directly.
Xiang Yu was sitting beside her, and upon hearing her call Xiao Min, he quickly listened attentively.
“Do you have ti today? I want to co and see your masked handso guy,” Zhong Min laughed rrily.
“So soon?” Cheng Wulan wasn’t ntally prepared; she thought Zhong Min would co after so ti.
After all, their base had just been destroyed, and she thought Zhong Min would find a new safe place first.
“What? Not welcoming ?” Zhong Min said in mock anger.
“Of course not. I have ti now. Co on over,” Cheng Wulan laughed.
anwhile, she glanced at Xiang Yu, who was calmly sitting and drinking water.
“Alright, I’m heading over right now.” After Zhong Min said that, she hung up the phone.
This ti she went to see Cheng Wulan not to et the masked man but primarily to borrow people.
“Xiao Min is coming over,” Cheng Wulan looked at Xiang Yu and then at Li Bingbing.
Xiang Yu’s expression didn’t change much; he knew this day would co sooner or later.
And Li Bingbing’s mood was sowhat cloudy, pondering over sothing.
Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan’s expressions changed. Although Zhong Min didn’t know them, they recognized her.
Zhong Min looked very much like Zhong Qin; one glance revealed they were siblings.
They also knew that Xiang Yu’s arrival here must be related to her.
“I’m going to prepare,” Cheng Wulan said and walked outside.
Li Bingbing followed Cheng Wulan out.
“Sister Lan, perhaps Xiang Yu should avoid her for now. Just say he’s out on a mission,” Li Bingbing suggested.
Cheng Wulan shook her head with a bitter smile, saying, “No need for that. If they know each other, they’ll find out eventually.”
Li Bingbing considered it and agreed, nodding her head without further comnt. But she could see the worry on Cheng Wulan’s face.
One was her dear sister, and the other was the person she liked. Such a dilemma was understandable.
“Brother Yu, should we et her?” Tie Zhuzi asked Xiang Yu.
After all, they were the ones who killed Zhong Min’s father, Zhong Huashan, and they felt so guilt.
At that ti, Xiang Yu rescued her while masked, perhaps also out of guilt.
“If she wants to et, naturally, we should,” Xiang Yu replied, then walked into the room.
Tie Zhuzi watched Xiang Yu’s departing figure and then quietly said to Xiao Xuan, “Could it be that Zhong Min had a fling with Brother Yu in the past? Why does Brother Yu look a bit unhappy?”
“Don’t talk nonsense,” Xiao Xuan replied.
Tie Zhuzi snorted, then went to find Wu Jing.
Cheng Wulan was sowhat nervous in her room; she kept checking the ti and picking up the phone only to put it down again.
“Sister Lan, there’s nothing to worry about,” Li Bingbing said, seeing Cheng Wulan’s indecisive look.
“I know,” Cheng Wulan nodded.
As for Zhong Min, she packed her luggage simply, carrying her computer, and drove towards Cheng Wulan’s place.
Along the way, her mind was a mix of emotions; it had been a long ti since she had seen her godfather.
They always communicated via phone or email, with each task assigned by her godfather, and they would carry it out.
For the tasks given by her godfather, she would unconditionally execute them. Be it demolition tasks or assassination tasks, she did them well.
But now she suddenly wondered whether what she had done before was a bit rash. She should have investigated clearly first…
