In the dark cell, Chu Ge put on his gloves and patted Li Zheming's face.

"Li Zheming, I suggest you stop wasting your energy. Struggling will only make your wrists and ankles hurt more and make you more stressed. As you can see, the situation is very bad for you, isn't it?"

Chu Ge spoke lazily, standing directly in front of Li Zheming with a playful smile, and removed the rag from his mouth.

The face that was so close was blurry, but to Li Zheming, it was like a demon from the depths of hell, sending a chill from the top of his head to his heels.

"How are you here? What do you want?"

"Heh heh... Now is indeed Q&A ti. However, it seems you've got sothing wrong; the one asking should be ."

As soon as Chu Ge finished speaking, he turned on the flashlight, beaming a strong light into Li Zheming's eyes. His pupils contracted sharply, causing him to instinctively shut his eyes, but Chu Ge quickly pried them open with his fingers, allowing the piercing light to make his eyes sting once again.

"Actually, the two questions you just asked, you probably already have the answers in your heart, but you don't want to admit it or are hoping against hope, right?" Chu Ge paused, shrugged, and slightly curved his lips, "Sorry to disappoint you."

Hearing this, Li Zheming's already pale face turned even paler. He desperately tried to close his eyes or avert them from the glaring light, but all his efforts were in vain.

The bright light in this darkness remained unmoving in front of him, making his eyes feel like they were about to go blind at any mont.

"Now, I believe you can slightly understand the situation. I hope you cooperate with a bit, unless you want to suffer so unnecessary pain. Because this is being civil before forceful; 'civil' I've already extended, if you still don't cooperate, the next would be so 'force' you definitely won't like."

Chu Ge moved the beam away from Li Zheming's eyes and pointed it at the small gadgets he brought, first illuminating a small pair of tweezers, and with a faint smile, said, "See this? Does it remind you of so unpleasant scenes?"

"Wha... what scenes?"

"Instead of explaining in words, how about I show you through actions."

Chu Ge scratched his head, picked up the tweezers, clicked them twice gently, and as the 'ding ding' sound rang, grabbed Li Zheming's face and slowly moved the tweezers towards his eyebrows.

Li Zheming struggled desperately, but Chu Ge's hands were so steady and strong that he couldn't break free, and he could only watch the tweezers getting closer.

When there were only a few centiters left before the tweezers reached his head, he stopped struggling, not because he didn't want to, but because he feared the tweezers might blind his eyes.

"No! Stop! Don't... Ah!"

After a scream, there were already a few eyebrow hairs on the tweezers. Chu Ge smiled, spread his hands.

"That's about it. Of course, there are many places on the human body with hair, so this is just the basics. The uses of these tweezers are far beyond your imagination. Now, let's take a look at the other gifts I prepared for you."

Chu Ge moved the beam to the other small gadgets, ignoring Li Zheming's frantic rattling of the chains and his hysterical screams as he explained each item's use one by one.

Chu Ge's tone was calm and composed, as if he weren't discussing brutal punishnts but introducing local customs and cuisine like a friendly tour guide.

"You can't do this to ! This is a misuse of power! You're breaking the law, violating my human rights!"

"I can't do this to you? Ha?"

Chu Ge looked at Li Zheming as if he were an idiot, as if he had just heard a bad joke.

"But you could kidnap an innocent girl without any scruples?" Suddenly, Chu Ge landed a punch on Li Zheming's kidney area.

"And you can brazenly produce counterfeit money to harm innocent people?" Another punch in the sa spot.

"And you think it's reasonable to push those dreaming of going abroad into an abyss?" As he finished speaking, Chu Ge landed another punch!

Undoubtedly, Li Zheming would be passing blood the next ti he urinated, but no external wounds would be visible.

Chu Ge grabbed a handful of Li Zheming's hair and smashed his head forward, staring coldly into his eyes. "In a place like this, you're talking to about law and human rights? Are you freaking kidding ? Huh?"

After enduring these hits, Li Zheming's face contorted in pain. His mouth was open, gulping for air, and his limbs hung limply on the chains, lacking the strength to struggle.

Chu Ge snorted through his nose, releasing Li Zheming's hair, "Speak up, you know what I want to hear, right?"

Li Zheming paused for a few seconds, looking up into Chu Ge's eyes, his expression twisted, and said intermittently, "I know... I know you're full of shit..."

Chu Ge laughed and nodded, "Very good, I'm really curious, how long can you keep that tough mouth of yours? Since you want to play, I'll play with you quite thoroughly."

In the following monts, screams echoed continuously within the dark confinent room. Other than the screams, Li Zheming kept repeating the sa phrase over and over, "You're dead, absolutely dead."

Li Zheming's stubbornness was sowhat unexpected for Chu Ge, but it wasn't a problem. He had plenty of ti, and Li Zheming was gradually showing signs of breaking down.

Half an hour passed, and after Chu Ge's repeated "hard" treatnt, Li Zheming's screams beca weak, his gaze a bit unfocused. Yet, there wasn't a single visible injury on his body.

"What dish should I serve you next?"

"No, no more... I give up, I'll talk... I'll tell you everything..."

When Chu Ge picked up a few cotton swabs and muttered to himself, Li Zheming finally said what Chu Ge wanted to hear.

Seeing the resignation on Li Zheming's face, Chu Ge smacked his lips and shook his head with a smile, "Why didn't you do this earlier? You had to say it anyway, why put up with so much suffering?"

"Actually, I..."

Just as Li Zheming weakly uttered three words, sudden hurried footsteps were heard from outside.

Chu Ge frowned slightly. Although he didn't have a watch, he was sure that less than an hour had passed since he ca in. The sound was clearly heading towards the confinent room—could sothing have happened?

Li Zheming was also startled. The sound halted his voice, and he focused his attention on the footsteps getting closer and closer outside.

Seeing Li Zheming fall silent, Chu Ge beca furious, grabbing him by the collar. "Actually what?"

Li Zheming t Chu Ge's gaze, and just as the footsteps stopped outside the door of the confinent room, followed by the sound of keys turning, he suddenly laughed mischievously, "Actually, I'm your father!"

Anger surged inside Chu Ge, and at that mont, with a click, the door opened. The officer called Xiao Bin stood at the entrance, his face full of urgency, "Chu Ge, pack up your things and co out quickly."

Chu Ge frowned even more, "What's going on?"

"Don't ask too much for now, just hurry up and co out."

Seeing Xiao Bin's anxious appearance, Chu Ge felt extrely conflicted. This was really ssed up—why did Xiao Bin choose to show up at the critical mont when Li Zheming was about to confess?

But Chu Ge knew well that Xiao Bin's urgency wasn't baseless. Besides, with Xiao Bin's presence, Li Zheming's crumbling ntal defenses beca solid again. Even if Xiao Bin gave him a few more minutes, he surely wouldn't be able to get anything more out of him.

Clenching his fists, Chu Ge could only grit his teeth, quickly pack the interrogation tools, and head to the door.

"Chu Ge, don't rush off. I'm still waiting to have a good chat with you, talk about life and ideals, hahaha..."

Before the door closed, the last thing Chu Ge saw was Li Zheming's weak, smug, and tauntingly laughing face.

Once Chu Ge exited the confinent room, Xiao Bin began to run quickly. Chu Ge ran alongside him, asking urgently, "What's really going on?"

"Director Yu Chuan of the City Public Security Bureau personally called, asking my brother-in-law to release you imdiately, saying soone is already on the way to pick you up and will arrive in a few minutes."

Chu Ge felt even more troubled. Why did the City Public Security Bureau's director have to get involved again?

Ugh... What was originally a simple matter has beco so chaotic?

After bringing Chu Ge back to Su Wei's place, Xiao Bin quickly left. Chu Ge asked Su Wei what was happening, but Su Wei also looked baffled.

The two had just exchanged a few words when Su Wei's phone rang again, showing the na "Director Yu."

"Director Su, I'm at your station's entrance. You can let Comrade Chu Ge co out now."

Hearing this voice, Su Wei was startled, Damn! Yu Chuan, the director of the City Public Security Bureau, ca personally? Ca all this way late at night just to take Chu Ge out?

"Ah... yes!"

Su Wei agreed quickly, and the call ended abruptly. Only then did he realize his forehead was sweating. Looking at Chu Ge, his gaze beca even more complicated.

"Brother Chu, let's go. Director Yu is here in person to take you away..."

Chu Ge smiled wryly, nodded helplessly, got back his phone and house keys with Su Wei accompanying him, exchanged phone numbers, and then headed to the detention center's entrance, eting Yu Chuan, the director of the Lidu City Public Security Bureau.
