"Rip!" Chu Ge tore off the sleeve of his T-shirt, swiftly donned the security uniform, and glanced at the unconscious Qin Ruojing, touching his nose in exasperation.
Then, he placed his phone, keys, and other items on the ground by the wall, picked up a bucket of water, raised it above his head, and "splash," poured most of it over himself.
The security guards finally understood what he was going to do, but even though they guessed it, they still found it hard to believe their thoughts.
After all, the fire inside had already grown large, waiting for the fire truck was the only choice; no matter how important the things inside were, rushing in now was simply suicidal!
Only when Chu Ge took a deep breath and covered his nose with the torn sleeve did he truly rush into the office, leaving the security guards' pupils narrowing in shock.
Madness, absolute madness! What's called a moth to the fla? What's called courting death? This is it, clearly!
Heat waves, flas, and thick smoke filled the entire office, distorting the air with the light of the fire, rendering Chu Ge unable to see inside clearly. However, he didn't need to see; he only needed to find the position of the safe from mory.
For others, rushing into this sea of fire was purely suicidal, but for him, he couldn't even rember how many more dangerous situations he'd faced. This wasn't a big deal; despite the risks and uncertainties, Chu Ge was confident he could handle them.
Yet even he couldn't help but cry when he entered the room, his eyes stinging from the smoke. If he hadn't held his breath and covered his nose with a wet cloth, he would be coughing fiercely.
Hot! Hot! Hot!
Aside from the heat, Chu Ge felt nothing else. The water poured on him evaporated quickly, and his clothes and skin rapidly heated up.
"Bro, co back! Hurry back! Wait for the fire truck! Going in won't help!"
Just after kicking away a burning door panel, an anxious voice of a security guard ca from behind. Chu Ge turned back to see, vaguely recalling this was one of the two guards on duty yesterday.
To anyone concerned for him, Chu Ge was never stingy, but given the urgency, he could only spare a smile for the worried young guard before rushing back into the flas in his view.
"Bang!" A light tube above exploded, showering him with fragnts slicing his shoulders and arms, blood quickly pouring out.
"Crunch!" A panel from the ceiling fell like an axe, hitting Chu Ge's bleeding shoulder again.
Yet, as if unaffected, Chu Ge shrugged off the panel, without glancing at his bleeding wounds, continued holding his breath, running straight towards the safe.
Located by the wall near the minister's office, upon reaching the safe, Chu Ge couldn't help but sigh in relief.
Although the flas inside were fierce, fortunately, they hadn't reached the safe yet. If he could move it outside, his task would be complete.
Thankfully, he drove fast; even a minute or two later would be too late, considering the safe offered no fire resistance, only theft protection.
But his annoyance was with the safe's design, lacking a handle or wheels, rely a rectangular stand-alone safe, awkward to move and hard to exert force on.
In this situation, Chu Ge had no choice but to move the safe outside, even though unlocking it posed no difficulty to him.
He didn't want to reveal too much skill, and if the safe was opened, Qin Ruojing's invaluable scripts inside would burn to ashes before he could step out.
"Bang!" Both palms pressed against the sides of the safe, ignoring the surrounding flas roasting the safe scalding hot. His seemingly not so robust arms exerted force, instantly lifting the nearly two-hundred-pound safe off the ground.
Amidst the blazing flas and thick smoke, Chu Ge, carrying the safe, briskly headed towards the door, even though his burnt palms nearly cooked, his brows did not furrow.
He'd been through this degree of pain before; with his body's recovery ability, the burns would heal quickly without treatnt.
Chu Ge walked briskly, the nearly two-hundred-pound safe not affecting his pace, though awkward to carry, it narrowed his already limited view.
Near the door, now closer, through the flas in his view, several guards' various expressions of shock or surprise could be seen.
When only three ters from the door remained, a storage cabinet beside the doorway suddenly toppled, "bang," raising a cloud of dust, vibrating the ground.
Worse still, the cabinet fell precisely at the door, the only exit Chu Ge aid for!
"Bro!"
Seeing the cabinet crash down, blocking the door, the guard who urged his return instantly panicked, his joyful look turning to frustration, clenching his fists tightly.
How could it be so coincidental?
How could it be so coincidental!
Just a few steps away!
Even though there's still so space on top of the locker, it's not enough for a person to get out!
Just as the heart of the little security guard sank to his feet, Chu Ge also arrived beside the fallen locker.
Looking at the safe in his hand, then at the gap on top of the locker, Chu Ge suddenly lifted the safe high and placed it horizontally on the burning locker.
This scene made several security guards stare in disbelief, no one knew what Chu Ge was doing. The safe had already perfectly blocked the last gap above the door, so didn't that an Chu Ge had no way out?
This door was the only exit! This was the ninth floor!
To the security guards, it seed Chu Ge only had two choices.
One was to jump out and die, the other was to be burned alive in the sea of fire.
In any case, it was certain death!
Yet at this mont, they suddenly heard a "hiss" in their ears, and before their eyes, the safe suddenly lurched forward, sliding over half a ter across the locker before dropping to the ground with a "thud."
At this mont, the security guards couldn't help but salute Chu Ge in their hearts!
What kind of person is this?
For the sake of the company, willing to go to such extents? Not only did he risk his life to rush into the inferno, but even at the last mont, he was still concerned about the company's safe instead of his own escape?
At this mont, none of the guards thought Chu Ge was trying to show off in front of the Chairman. After all, what use is glory or credit if you're dead?
Besides, they had witnessed Chu Ge karate chop Qin Ruojing unconscious. Who ever heard of soone trying to impress a leader by first knocking them out?
"Brother! Brother! Can you still hear ?"
"Buddy! Hang in there, we'll help you get the cabinet open soon!"
"Big brother! You must hold on! We admire you, once we rescue you, we'll buy you drinks!"
Now, not just the initial little security guard, but the other guards all started shouting too.
Unfortunately, they heard no response from Chu Ge, and all they could see in their vision were roaring flas, with no sign of Chu Ge.
The hearts of the security guards sank to their feet.
Faced with the current situation, there seed to be only one explanation: Chu Ge, inside, had used up every last bit of strength pushing out the safe. Now... perhaps he couldn't hold on anymore.
After all, that's nearly two hundred pounds of weight. Just carrying the safe through the inferno to the door was unbelievable, and at the final mont, he could still push it out, that's simply miraculous!
Unfortunately, miracles are called miracles because they can't always happen.
Despite knowing Chu Ge had certainly fallen, the security guards were still red-eyed, shouting loudly, bracing their shoulders against the locker blocking the door, pushing with all their might.
Even though the locker burned the skin on their shoulders, not a single guard uttered a sound.
Because they knew, compared to their current pain, the agony Chu Ge just endured was countless tis more severe!
At this mont, the security guards were incredibly in sync, with only one thought in mind, "For such a hero, even if he has perished in the flas, he shouldn't be left without a whole body!"
Soon, they realized dejectedly, that no matter how hard they pushed the locker, it seed stuck on sothing, not budging an inch!
The fire inside grew even fiercer.
